  1. When I try zooming, if the cursor is outside the object, it doesn't matter, but if the cursor is above the object, the object is duplicated. here is the video for this problem.
  2. New to Designer here. When I close a work-in-progress file in Designer, is there a way to save the current zoom state to the file so when I reopen it to continue working, the same area is zoomed at the same ratio? Thanks for any help. Designer v1.8.3 Win10Pro v1909 64-bit Wacom CTH-661
  3. In a text paragraph when I highlight a word, the highlight disappears when I zoom to 172%. I have Affinity Designer 1.7.2
  4. I’m showing a client designs for a logo by screen sharing using zoom but when I send her mockups she is seeing a different colour from what she sees in zoom. I’ve tried viewing pdfs, jpgs and png files on various screens in different software and I’m seeing the same colour with slight variations as you would expect. When I show her the pdfs on my iPad using zoom she sees the same colour as when I show her Affinity on my iPad. She really wants the colour she sees on zoom. I’m using a Pantone and have all the details for that Pantone. I realise this isn’t really an affinity issue but this is the first logo I’ve designed using Affinity for iPad so I don’t know how close the Pantones match to print. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to see what the client is seeing and give them a closer colour match?
  5. When loading a small image from scratch, the one I'm using is 250x193, Affinity Photo automatically defaults to filling the available area resulting in a pixelated image that's roughly 1000%+ in size. ( It'd be nice if a small image did nothing more than 200% upon first load, which is more in line with the retina displays. ) Anyhow, to quickly set the Zoom back to normal one can double click the Zoom icon (magnifying glass) -- and the image does change size back to 100%. However, the Zoom tool bar still has the old 1000%+ value. Meanwhile, the Navigator shows a different Zoom value. And, if one alters the Navigator zoom slider (the canvas area correctly resizes), then uses the pinch/stretch gesture, and then double clicks the Zoom icon -- the value in the Navigator gets copies to the tool bar, and the Navigator might (if you're lucky) jump back to 100% (often it does not), but the canvas image does. In short, there's the visual canvas area, the Zoom Tool bar, and the Navigator -- all three fall out of sync, so it's difficult to know at any time which one is the authority for what the current zoom level is. They should always be in agreement with the same value.
  6. I have just purchased Affinity Designer 1.8.3 and have noticed a user interface bug in that the "Zoom" label isn't displaying correctly in the Context Toolbar. I have attached a screenshot to clarify what I mean.
  7. I've noticed after recent updates that there is a change in behaviour when zooming in and out on Affinity Designer documents. The items on screen seem to pixelate slightly as I zoom, then sharpen back up once the view is fixed. I swear it never used to do this. Is this a performance option or related to the graphics card perhaps? A video reviewer on YouTube also pointed this out when taking a first look at AD.
  8. When I work on multiple PC programs at the same time, Designer stops functioning properly. For it to work again I have to close the document and reopen it. If I have multiple documents open it affects them all and for these functions to work again I have to close all documents and reopen. It is not necessary to restart Designer though. The following functions are missing when this problem occours: Panning, via the spacebar shortcut, the middle mouse button, or even the view tool (hand) Scrubby Zoom All other ways of zooming and panning are working. Thanks in advance Windows 10 Version 1909 Build 18363.77 Designer 8.1
  9. I could not select text anymore, tried closing program/reopening but it still didn´t work. Noticed that it suddenly worked when i had the document zoomed out to 50%. To test the issue, select a text, zoom in/out and notice that the selection disappears going above 85%, every time. Version 1.8.3 on a 2017 15" mac pro running Mojave 10.14.6
  10. Hi, Just bought my Affinity Designer recently. At start, all seems to be normal until i substracted a circle shape and try to add gradient to it and suddenly i can't drag my mouse to Zoom. I can olny click to zoom in and push Alt key to zoom out. And also, my Gradient node when i want to edit it, it lag so bad. So the only way to stop the bugs is to close and re-open Affinity, but then it happen again. Please help, i just bought it and it's so unpleasant to have this bugs. Iam using Win 10, i5 9th gen, GTX 1050, 8GB RAM Thank You
  11. I have included this screen recording demonstrating my issue. I was editing an object using live perspective when I started to zoom back out on the entire photo. When I did, little blocks of it were missing and the checkboxes were showing instead. I closed the app and reloaded it. At first it was fine but when I started to edit, it did it again. In the video, you can see that as I hav the image zoomed out, it is only checks and you can’t see the image. I can zoom in a lot and then slowly zoom out and the image is visible only while my fingers stay on the iPad. All the layers are showing up on the layers window and when I try to use the eye dropper, it still shows the colors. Help?! Thank you, Amber IMG_0181.MP4
  12. When I use spacebar-option-click to zoom out, Publisher jumps to the ( bottom of the) next spread.Which means that every time I zoom out to get an overview of the spread I am working in, I haver to scroll back up. Spacebar-option-scrollwheel works fine, command-minus also. Anyone else has this? Is it a feature I am misunderstanding or a bug? iMac OS Catalina
  13. Hi, I belive there is an issue with touchpad/touchscreen support. Designer version: 1.8.2.620 (just installed the 90-day trial) Windows 10 I'm using a HP Spectre with touchscreen. Both the screen and touchpad are multitouch. Expected behavior: Pinching on both touchpad and touchscreen should zoom-in/out the document. Moving two fingers on the touchscreen should move the document (just like you drag it with a View Tool). Ideally I would see it working the same way on touchpad. What happens: The pinch gesture works correct on the touchscreen (sometimes it stops working though and needs restart) but on touchpad it ALWAYS works ONLY the first time (really curious to me - first zoom-in or out works perfect, after that no gesture on touchpad works like it didn't work at all. After Designer restart there is again one chance to zoom-in/out with touchpad ) Moving with two fingers on touchscreen works sometimes, sometimes it stops working (like zooming on the screen) and sometimes I get only one chance to do it (like the pinch gesture) and then it stops. I've already installed Designer trial some time ago (I believe it was version 1.6) and it had the same issues (it was working exacly the same - or NOT working actually). BTW, I'm happy to see how the Affinity products develop and get better, and this time I'm about to buy it for sure. But really hope this issues would get fixed in the future. Best regards
  14. Loving Designer v 1.8.2 on iMac (running OS 10.14.6). Since I upgraded, the pinch-zoom gesture on Apple Magic Trackpad no longer works on Affinity. Pinch-zoom still works on all other programs I use on the iMac. I noticed someone was having the same problem on Windows. Any thoughts?
  15. I would love to see the option to automatically "zoom to selection" like Illustrator does. I know there are keyboard shortcuts, etc. but I'd rather it was an option to turn on or off in the application preferences. Screen Shot 2020-03-17 at 10.44.16 AM.pdf
  16. Greetings to all. I have a little problem with the zoom when using it in Publisher. I'm used to using "Spacebar" + "cmd" to zoom and "alt" to zoom out, but every time I use that shortcut combination the zoom goes to another page! both to decrease and to increase ..! is there any way to configure it? in affinity Designer when using that command set the zoom works perfectly! I hope any comment of help, thanks.!
  17. I am noticing an odd bug. I created a document at 280x70 pixels at 72dpi. When I view the image at 100% in Affinity Photo it is not the actual size. When I export the file as a PNG or JPG it is the correct size. I am attaching a screenshot showing the Photo doc (left) and the PNG opened in Preview on the right. Anyone know why they are not the same and how to fix it? Thanks.
  18. Hello, The moment I press "z" on the keyboard to zoom the "undo" function occurs. As I was aligning the 2 squares and I pressed "z" to zoom in, the 2 squares went back to their original state. Please check the video in dashed yellow rectangle when this bug occurs. I don't know why square go back to their original positions the moment I press "z" to zoom in, Please help. Thank you zoom-bug.mp4
  19. Hi, I using Publisher 1.7.3 on Win10, I have a problem about Zoom +/- when using the shortcut " Alt + space" the zoom +/- is out of the area I clicked also moved to the bottom line of the last pages. And in chniese typing can't type the full punctuation marks e.g. . =>。 , =>,etc. Thanks! TerryTin
  20. It's really annoying to see files open at screen those weird zoomed in views instead of 100%, I can't find any options to set the default view to 100%. How can I achieve this? Thanks for help!
  21. Not sure if this is an issue or a limitation of Publisher. When I use the text tool I cannot zoom in or out. For example — If I am typing in a text box and I want to make a font bigger or smaller I cannot just zoom out, the zoom only works once I click the pointer tool, click off the text box and then zoom out. It's a very simple process but the idea that I have to change the tool, click off the text box, zoom out... and then re-select the text tool and then re-select the text box is a pain in the backside. Surely there is something I'm doing wrong...?? or is that just a limitation of the program and it's un-able to do that? Any help would be much appreciated.
  22. I am trying to see on my screen my image in the actual print size -- I mean the size it would be if it was printed -- on both the Affinity Photo and Designer programs for iPad. Can't seem to find it - I found the navigator function displaying the view at 100% but I am not sure that means that it is print size? Also, I would like to be able to change the DPI of the image. I found how to do it from Affinity Photo desktop (under resize) but not on the iPad version. I am trying to have 300DPI for my image, and I need the program to resize the file accordingly as I don't know how many pixels that would be. Thank you.
  23. I got a new Ipad Air 2019 and installed Affinity Designer. I made an A4 archive, and draw a 1 inch circle, but when I zoomed in to 100% the circle was way bigger than it should be. 50% was smaller, and kept trying, and around 80% the circle was an inch in real life. I hope I’m explaining myself clearly. Is there a way that when I zoom at 100% the things looks as the size they will in real life if I want to print them, for example? Thanks in advance!
  24. When working on a document (150+ pages, with 300+ images), sometimes when I double click the pan/hand to zoom to full page all of my images disappear and then this happens on my cover page. See attachment. Each block on the image below is a part/section of another graphic in the document. The images in the document are fine. When I save and re-open then everything is correct.
  25. It's what the topic title says, the further you zoom in, the slower the brushes becomes. If you're zoomed way out brushes perform between well to acceptable, depending on their complexity. As you keep zooming in, the performance drops further and further until they're unusable. This is true even for basic round brushes, but it's more noticeable in complex brushes, such as Frankentoon's. I've also noticed it's worse if you're drawing over vector shapes, which is the whole point of these brushes. See the video for a visual reference. iPad Pro 9.7" with latest version of iOS 12.4 and Affinity Designer 1.7.1. I've tested and this also happens on Windows, the more you zoom the worse the brushes perform. But on Windows, especially on a desktop machine, the sheer processor power masks the issue. Thanks!
