  1. Hi, I shoot a scene of a creek with mossy stones, but ... We had a very hot and dry summer. So there was hardly water in the creek. I took care, that you don't recognize this in the photo. I wish you fun with the tutorial on YouTube. Ciao Jack
  2. More 'Realism' from me again and yes... more 'fluid' and glass, just plain old water in this instance. It's 100% vector..... not even a vector brush used even though I was tempted to use some here and there. Looks a little darker in places than I had wanted compared to the reference image but 'hey ho' I think without the comparison 'it ain't too bad'. As always C & C is welcome 2021-09-01 21-44-30.mp4
  3. So, another realistic one from me (this time non-alcoholic) 😀 I've included the outline view and the reference image used for comparison. It's not the best I've done but not the worst either and once again a little more knowledge gained as it's the first time I think I've done a Plastic bottle. About a Gazillion layers and 10 Gazillion objects in this one but it was fun to do. Its all vector done in AD with the exception of a few vector brushes for texture (I never refer to Vector Brushes as pure vector).
  4. Trying to improve the image I took on a very sunny day. I made separate selection for the sky background and the grounds on the foreground. It does show I need to practice more on many things.
  5. This began life (or was resurrected -- see below) when I was fourteen, at school in 1965 when Games was rained off and I started doodling in a notebook whatever came into my head. I've still got the notebook somewhere, but I can't lay my hands on it just now to show you the original scribble. But here's the weird creepy thing ... ten years or so later I was idly flipping through a book, A Century of Creepy Stories, at a friend's house, when I came to an illustration ... that was my teenage doodle! It was different, obviously, but had all the elements: the old man, the long-case clock, the water ...And then I remembered ... when I was seven, we had a caravan holiday in Cornwall. Under my bed, I found someone had left a book ... A Century of Creepy Stories! The room is by Vidar Nordli Mathisen from unsplash; the bath from a photo by Max Murauer from unsplash; the clock and the wooden posts are my own photos; the other elements I borrowed from the internet.
  6. Cool, I created this 2 page document about the importance of drink water. Water Importance.afpub
  7. Hi I am new in photography and using Affinity as well. I experiment with my camera and multiple focus points and multiple exposure . I am wandering using Affinity, what is the best way to create a very clear landscape photo with great DoF and to be HDR. The steps I have in my minds is: 5 different exposures for each exposure 9 different focal points then on Affinity I am thinking to merge the focal points first (grouped by exposure) , so I will get five new photos where each one now includes all focal points but has different exposure then I will do the HDR merge is this a right approach ? and how I control/decide the correct DoF (lets say is a landscape or night skyscrapers wig water in front or stars) many thanks
  8. before and after -- these are the more advanced edits, however there are other new basic edited pics on my Fb page; photos by ian browne -- or Flickr how does it look with the original pasted onto edited photo? What is better ; one photo per thread or several as here? Pana Fz300 Questions welcome Grass in front of the river water The same tree
  9. Hi, could anyone please recommend me a way how I get rid of the water stains on this photo? I thought of seperating the colour-chanels first, but this did not lead to apropper sollution. Especially the area around the eyes seems to be complicated. Thanks für any hints, Georg

Hello, I am a photographer and I use my photos to create imaginary landscapes with Affinitiy Photo. I love this program and I actually dropped Photoshop to use Affinity Photo for retouching my portrait photos. But here, I propose this first imaginary digital composition with Affinity Photo. (Google translation, sorry.)

  12. I have been trying to create some realistic water ripples in AP. I am after a general randomised overall ripple, not the radiating circle type. This is not an urgent need, it is simply an exercise I set myself as part of really learning AP in depth after years of doing things its competitor’s way. AP has a ripple filter but it has no independent control over amplitude and wavelength and no means of randomisation. It really isn’t suitable for this particular task. PS has an excellent wave filter but the whole point was not to use it!! I found two plugins for this: Redfield Water Ripples and Flaming Pear Flood. The former is Windows only and the latter doesn’t seem to work in the AP plug in environment. I tried using a high contrast black and white image of rippling water as the basis for the Displace filter but the results were less than satisfactory. So does anyone have any suggestions for doing this in AP?
  13. So started playing with paint brushes today.....I vectored up a sketch I did a while back and played with some things - this is what happened
