  1. Can we have a video editor/composer by Affinity as we already have one by Serif(& It has closed it's development)...!? :^)
  2. Hey Affinity team ! I love your photo editing software and I'd enjoy a lot if you did a video editing software ! It would be amazing ! Thanks for reading. LZ
  3. Hey, I would love to see the feature that makes it possible to create cinemagraphs in Affinity Photo. For this it is required to be able to edit short video clips in Affinity Photo just like you can do it in Photoshop. I just found it out today because I see more and more cinemagraphs on Instagram and wondered how to create them. Then I found this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dD_yeVMUzo I don't want that Photoshop feature to be copied because there are options in Photoshop that are more complex that it is required. That's why I really like Affinity. There are so many features and a clean working space. I hope I am not the only one who is interested in this feature to be implemented. Best regards, Andy
  4. Hi everyone, i was asked how to use the swatches pannel. i didnt use it untill now. So does there exist any nice videotutorial , to learn it faster but to read the help files ? thanks
  5. Currently use Apple Motion in conjunction with FCPX for video production and animation, and would love it if there was some way to export the vector data as Motion shapes. It's currently possible through Illustrator using a script, but I feel it'd help massively if I had this inside of Affinity Designer. Something similar to this video
  6. I know this is kind of far fetched but If you guys made a video editor(one time buy of course) Then I would totally buy it.
  7. Hello New here. I would be eager to replace "the Adobe ones" with Affinity Photo and Design. But cannot do it before I can paint on video, or open and view large image sequences. Example open 20000 Dpx files for dustbusting. This would be a Photoshop killer feature and I would be ready to pay for it. Is there any technical chance for this kind of feature in the future? Other thing is importing tool presets. Affinity Photo can import .abr brushes files, and that's nice, but I would need .tpl tool presets as well. I am using beautiful Kyle Webster made custom brushes in my illustration work and I don't know if there are anything equivalent in Affinity. Would not like to ditch those and start from beginning. Regards
  8. In document presets you have a WEB type that has VIDEO resolutions mixed in. It would be great to have a VIDEO preset that not only does video resolutions but also the correct colorspace for that resolution... 9. Hi guys, Illustration from a summer screenprint serie. Half Affinity Designer, half Photo. The capture was made afterward, rolling the saved history backward (neat function!). Best, P. > Video Making-of Final
  10. Hey Everyone, I'm back with another video on how to add an Image inside of a Text: https://youtu.be/8Ykv45jox-w Let me know what you think and feel free to use this technique into your own design work. Thanks, Mike
  11. Hey Everyone, I'm back with another video on how to add an Image inside of a Text: https://youtu.be/8Ykv45jox-w Let me know what you think and feel free to use this technique into your own design work. Thanks, Mike
  12. Hi Everyone, I'm back with another YouTube video tutorial on how to add an image inside a shape: https://youtu.be/s4dGgAMqDp0 Thanks for watching and let me know what you guys think :). Have a good week! -Mike
  13. Hi all! So, in my bid to help the community of Affinity, I'd like to make some videos address certain issues. It's not a perfect product, but there's no shame in trying to help make it perfect :) I've noticed that with AMD Graphic cards, Affinity will produce some considerable lag spikes during heavy duty work. This was noted on two different workstations out of three. The third housing less ram & processing power in the other, but virtually no issues. But when I changed the Renderer to WARP, (i.e, removed the GPU acceleration), the results were improved. So this is one performance tip I have (i'm sure others have discovered this but hey! It's still help, right?) Are there any other performance tips or problems that you've rectified on your end that you'd like to share? Please note that it has to be performance related. Would like to involve you.
  14. Having put the video scopes inside Affinity Photo, it would be great if we can open the native RED Raw codec with all the Raw options available in Red CineX Pro or Adobe Premiere. Now that Red cameras can shoot 8K Raw video with almost 35MP per frame, the video and photo workflow are merging together for some kind of work. In Red Cine X Pro we can save a Raw frame from any Red Camera footage. The next step would be to retouch it directly into the image editing program. Thanks!
  16. Yesterday I searched for lightweight video editor some NLE with good slideshow capability and nice video transition, effect, color grading etc. And I have found none that can replace Adobe solutions. So i have feature request to add basic video and slide show support to Affinity Photo similar in features to PS or Lightroom. Or even better I will be super happy if Affinity will come with Premiere or After Effect equivalent.
  17. On the New Document dialogue can we have presets for common video sizes? One use of the programme is to create title layers for import into video NLEs. Thank you.
  18. Hey guys, first off I want to thank you for your great work on Affinity Photo, it is truly a wonderful piece of software. In order to make it even better I think it would be great to see basic animation/video editing tools added in the near future. I'm speaking about opening video files, trimming, setting keyframes, adding masks, working with video layers, changing opacity etc. The reason why I'm requesting this the need for a tool to create cinemagraphs. In 2016 we've seen a shift from stills to video when it comes to website design and online marketing and this trend will continue in 2017. Being able to create small animations will become crucial if Affinity Photo wants keep up with Photoshop. I hope you will look into it and put it on your roadmap, but again: Great work so far!
  19. Dear Affinity staff, I am an Affinity Photo and Designer user in China. I found most of your tutorials were on the Vimeo and Youtube. However, it is very hard to open the video on Vimeo, because the network speed is very slow. Certainly, everyone knows Youtube is blocked in China. Even I can use VPN to watch the video, but it is still very inconvenient. Could you please create an official account on Youku, or other Chinese video website and upload the tutorials ? I introduced Affinity to a lot of my friends because Affinity is really a fantastic picture editing and design software. I hope we can have resources that we can learn how to use Affinity as much as other countries' people. Thank you for creating Affinity. Sincerely, mrteapot
  20. Hi I have made 12 new Affinity Photo Tips in german I hope you enjoy it. I am planning to make more.
  21. Every year i make up a little 'Happy New Year' video, using the two bored-to-death putti (the posh name for cherubs in paintings) from Raphael's Sistine Madonna. This year I decided to be mean and not send any Christmas cards; instead I've made a video, which I shall post on social media a bit nearer the day. I used AP to extract the eyes and mouths (yuck -- that sounds awful!) from the original image. With a combination of pixel painting and mesh warping, I made half-closed and closed eyelids, and various mouth shapes for the dialogue. I used AD to make a couple of end caption texts. Then I recorded the different bits of dialogue (on my smart phone, then copied to my laptop), which I edited with Audacity to make female and child voices. Some time ago, I bought an animation package called Anime Studio -- it was one of the 'other' third-party products that Serif market from time to time. It's mind-numbingly tedious and utterly non-intuitive to use, but it's the best means of animating mouths (and eye-blinks) and syncing them to sound. All the bits and pieces came together for the final 'cut' in Serif's MoviePlus X6, which is great for this kind of thing -- quite the opposite of the animation job. Anyway, here's the finished product: https://youtu.be/hwQvSqbr-iA. Merry Christmas!
  22. First of all: Affinity Photo is such a great piece of software. I really have learned to love it in a short time. So, I think I will stick to it from now on for two reasons: first is my photography hobby and my second is my illustration hobby / work. I can do same things in Affinity Photo as I have done in Photoshop and I like every part of it. I must say! One other thing that I discovered yesterday was the truly excellent presentation of Affinity Photo and all the funktionalitets in the software on Vimeo. I mean, those videos are top quality pedagogic presentations of complex issues made easy (at least for me). The simple, clear, great voice over presentations in short or long enough videos are so easy to follow and I hear and understand every bit of it. I have great experience of the male voice over, it is really top quality in every respect; speed, phrasing, prononciation, pausing... I love it. I have been teaching for 40 years and I have very critical eyes and ears on visual presentations. But your presentations are GOOD! Thank You!
  23. Video Import Considering that we now live in a multimedia era in which most cameras are also capable of shooting video clips, I would like to see support to import such video clips and perform at least very basic operations (i.e., trim, copy & trim, set poster frame, etc.) Then, on export to export to a frame size, format desired (i.e., 4K -> 1080p or 720p, etc.) Such capability is already inherent in Adobe's Lightroom, Apple's basic photos app even. In consideration that most cameras, especially and obviously smart phones) are capable of shooting video clips, and the added fact we now live in a multimedia era of audio and video in addition to just images, it is important to be able to have at lest such basic function to recognize ALL multimedia in a camera and not just a part of it. For full blown video production, of course would use an NLE video post production editor. Media Browser & Catalog Again as examples, both Lightroom and Photos allows one to browse the media of a source (to include BOTH photos and video (above) for browsing and edits. I understand Affinity has a very basic functional capability for this under the photos menu, but it's just not the same. It is minimally functional and useful. I know this falls under the DAM category, but still, a basic integration of a catalog or library would be nice to have versus opening a single photo or a group of photos from the source each time to conduct an edit. Having a set of scrollable thumbnails to pick and choose on-the-fly will be convenient, useful, and productive. I dropped Lightroom because of their subscription model event though they have a very useful and functional browser for said purpose. For the interim I am using Apple's Photos which also has this same function. However, Apple's Photos apps is limited in the editting capabilities and convenience. So, for now I am sort of in limbo. Adobe has the free bridge program, but then I am using a separate application for this function rather then having an integrated solution. Thanks.
  24. Hey all, The Windows beta of Photo is now available to try for free! Grab it here: https://affinity.serif.com/blog/affinity-photo-for-windows-is-available-now/ Here's a short (8 minute) video that just runs through a few of the basics for the Photo Windows beta and will hopefully answer some questions you may have: Direct link if you can't fullscreen the video: https://vimeo.com/190854361 It covers the concept of personas, opening images, panels, raw file development and exporting. I'd also just like to point out that we have over 120 video tutorials for Photo available in the In-house Affinity Photo Video Tutorials thread (currently at 130 and counting ;)). They are all macOS-based, but you will find that both the interface and functionality translate to the Windows version, and so I hope you'll find them useful. If you have any questions please ask. All the best, James
  25. I’ve created a thriller (book) trailer, using aphoto and imovie. Thank you for watching :) Text means something like: Opfer - Victim Messer - Knife Deep in the forest the horror lurks and will not let you go ... at night it comes to life and calls for tribute … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3cGMNDKbVo
