  1. Is Affinity (Serif) thinking about video editing? I can't imagine this is a new request, though search hasn't turned up any results. I was just watching the Live video again (Affinity Live: 19 June 2019 (serif.com)) and couldn't help but notice all the transitions and zooming in/out, which I imagine they made with Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro. I understand each product -- Designer, Photo, Publisher -- has outstanding bugs and feature requests, but it would be nice to forego all these other price-gouging A-named companies and put full stock in Serif. Serif once had MoviePlus. They were on the scene, though lacked some of the UI/UX elements that the Affinity suite has captured. I hope Serif returns to the (more difficult?) video arena. I imagine if executed well there is more potential to make money in add-ons and training than the other software products. Praise Serif's rebranding and relaunching of its traditional product lines has been something I've championed to friends & family ever since I first learned and purchased it back in 2014. I wasn't at all surprised when it won the Apple Design Award in 2015 and since then I've bought multiple licenses (through Apple's app store and through Affinity's site) for many OS platforms, even duplicate licenses for the same platform. I have advocated to use Affinity for work and production environments -- we're not a design studio -- though I would like the licensing process to be smoother. Needless to say, I'm all for giving money back to a team that has "nailed it" and rightly deserves to profit, especially when that probably means standing firm against potential Adobe/Sony buyout offers. Best
  2. You have produced some awesome software. Working in a school, I have used Serif for many years. I am very honest with my findings. I did not like Serif Web Plus, but I did like PhotoPlus X8, Page Plus X9, Draw Plus X8 and Movie Plus X6. Your Affinity has now improved on all but Movie Plus X6. The long and short is that we need a movie editing package in schools and so do many others companies. I have just moved schools and we tried to purchase Movie Plus X6 from you but sadly you won't even sell it anymore due to Codex Licences, so we are stuck with X3. We really need some way of editing movies and your interface would really lend it's self to that. Now you have done the others, please consider a movie editing package to complete the pack or at the very least, look at some way of re-releasing Movie Plus X6 to those that need it, but an Affinity version would be spot on. Finally, the ability to create stop-frame and Keyframe animation in Affinity Designer would be good so it matches Draw Plus X8. Thank you so much for reading this. Al
  3. Hello, I recently bought Affinity Photo as a cheaper alternative to Photoshop. I am trying to crop and image from a background and use it in Movavi to create a slideshow. I tried exporting as a PNG which causes it to have a white background and as a TIFF which causes it to just become a black box. Could it be that Movavi doesnt accept these types of formats ? If I can get some help or clarification it would be much appreciated. Thanks mouse.tiff
  4. Hello, I am a big fan of Photo and Designer, and I am super stoked for Publisher. The only thing that is really keeping me from dropping Adobe all together is Premier Pro. I was just wondering if this is type of app is something you have plans for in the future? Again, love what you do and would love to make my shop a full Affinity Suite someday. Thanks
  5. Do any Affinity photo editing or graphics editing products (or indeed any others ...) have features such as drop zones which are available in some video editing packages? Effectively these allow pre packaged editing to be set up, and then an object is just dropped into the zone and it will have the appropiate characteristics merged to fit. Although I would not recommend the use of tools such as Final Cut Pro X for photo editing, it is clearly possible to do so, and that would allow drop zones to be used - for example a shot with a TV in the room and/or pictures on the wall, or a window with an outside view, could have those areas set up and images just dropped in at will. Would that be a useful feature in a still photo editing package?
  6. Hello You guys doing awesome. My suggestion is, add a basic animation timeline/some video editing option . So that UX UI designer use it for their portfolio and also for other purpose . You can start with some basic . I dont know is there any 3d text effect already or not . But only 3d text is very basic . And a 3d model support with live paint and texture will be awesome . Thanks
  7. I am a current university student studying IT multiple areas of interest. I am also a mobile DJ, amateur music producer, and Sponsored Competitive shooter for National Collegiate Shooting Sports. I have taken a couple of design classes that taught me some basics of some very basic programs. However, I was referred to you by a friend who is a programmer at Lukasarts, he has more experience than anyone I know with a large variety of digital design. He sent me to Affinity for the best source to get a good foundation in Digital Designing projects. So I am coming with questions about the student options that I have seen on the site, I am wondering what my options are for getting started as a current student but learning Affinity as an independent study directive. My primary needs for design are in creating Personal Logo's and Designs for my website, creating elements for Augmented reality program I am working on, and also Virtual reality programs I am working on. I would be very excited for the potential to also use it for creation elements in the music production work I do, as well as working on cleaning and editing video that I record for events I DJ. I am not sure how to reach out and inquire about these possibilities, but my initial goal is finding out if I can use my student discount, then who to contact to find out the details. Also, I was hoping to find out if I could get access with my student discount to the book on Affinity as it is described as a essential tool for faster skill acquirement with the software. Thanks for taking the time and hope to get clarification soon. Hope to get to know more users. Sincerely, 21c Reaper Brief intro on me: "I was given the nickname mantle of Reaper when I was 26, I was given my time of death by the doctor. The nurse had covered me with a sheet and was just starting to turn of machines, when it beeped. My heart had beat, my doctor a firm atheist turned student of religion said it was impossible, but I was an am alive. When asked by my grandmother what I remembered, I said the Reaper came and I told him no chance in hell that he was taking me before I was ready. It was a joke, but I had always been known for how I carried myself. I wasn't someone who started things, but would end them. I always protected the weak from those who made themselves feel stronger by preying on the weaker. I was the anti-bully, the predator of predators, the guy who was generally liked, but always had a keen ability to spot trouble before it became escalated and took care of it. So family and friends, knowing I was a competitive marksman and wore a tactical mask when competing that resembled the Reaper, started saying the Reaper needed a vacation and now in the 21st century he passed the title to me since I wouldn't go quietly into the night. Eventually, I was called Reaper as much as I was called by my birth name. But that is my story of rebirth. I returned to college to work on a new degree path, started learning skills and apprentice work for various job types, and do whatever I can to make the most of my 2nd chance. Including meeting my wife, and adopting her daughter who I have watched grow up and only know her as my daughter, but I was always taught "Family Beyond Blood", that our true family is who we choose not who shares DNA." If you are a designer who does logo's or websites, and would be willing to assist me in designing my logo, and primary background I would love any assistance. Also if your into music, from creating to listening please reach out. 21c.Reaper@gmail.com find me on google+ or message me on here.
  8. Congratulations to the Affinity Photo developers! You have created a remarkable software. Coming from a Photoshop user background I can see myself migrating to Affinity Photo. Although, there a few PS features that I would miss, ie., PS animation timeline and PS video editing. Granted, these features are basic but having said that, these features do produce good results. So maybe one day Affinity might have an animation and video persona. Just to give a few examples of what can be done with PS basic animation/video tools, here is an animation created in PS for a client, https://youtu.be/nsf8V5s4erM A few examples of video editing for the same client which include, compositing, color adjustments, titles and the use of the PS filters which can be applied globally to video footage which has converted to smart objects. https://youtu.be/FuLn58tqkTo https://youtu.be/TolQYmNtlMg
  9. Yesterday I searched for lightweight video editor some NLE with good slideshow capability and nice video transition, effect, color grading etc. And I have found none that can replace Adobe solutions. So i have feature request to add basic video and slide show support to Affinity Photo similar in features to PS or Lightroom. Or even better I will be super happy if Affinity will come with Premiere or After Effect equivalent.
  10. Hello. Thanks for providing us so great program that frees us from the greedy suscription based model of the competitor. I'm very satisfied and already made a job for a client today. I want to suggest some programs that you should consider: 1- Affinity Publisher (InDesign, Microsoft Publisher) 2- Affinity Animator (Video Editing and Animator, After Effects) These programs are so needed and we will be completely free! If you happen to consider just 1 of them, please be the Animator/Video Editing. Thanks!
  11. I've using Photo an Designer for about one month, I haven't open Illustrator or Ps since. Your quality is as good as we would like a Video Editing Software (my partner and I) so please, think on it, thank you.
