  2. Hi, I am really missing the ability to create vector brushes like I could do in the Adobe Illustrator.
  3. Hello. I thought EPS is vector until I zoom EPS file. EPS is not vector? Thank you so much.
  4. I will be happy if you could add the "Shape Builder" tool to Affinity Designer like in Adobe illustrator it will be very helpful. This feature will go with Affinity Designer to the next level. I hope that you will take my request into consideration. Thank you
  5. How can I get the blue line as the outline of the type, that it surrounds the D, K, N and Y separately
  6. I haven't found a solution to this yet on affinity or other vector programs, hoping someone has. In my work I am consistently trying to crop a series of vector paths using a shape (like a circle. I can crop one at a time, copy/pasting the circle over again and again, but that is very time-consuming. I've attached a very basic file to try and illustrate this. In the group on the left, basically I want the 'hairs' outside of the thicker circle gone, leaving only the parts that were inside, so it ends up looking like the group on the right. I manually edited this one to show you. I need these to still be vector paths, not expanded or rasterized. Any ideas? Thank you. VectorCropAttempt.afdesign

  8. Recently completed work: Marie Antoine-Not. The subject of my next piece is DEFINITELY going to be bald*. * Or wearing a big hat.
  9. New work: All Dolled Up. (Those curlers nearly killed me!)
  10. This has very nearly been the death of me - but the end is finally in sight!
  11. Screech Just sharing the latest crazy drawing! based on Inktober:09 All vector reconstruction of sketch started in Sketchbook Pro 8.5 last year Completed in AD using just vectors Size = 200 x 200 mm (300dpi)
  12. Assets from [Screech] inktober #09 Sharing a selection of vector assets Asset List subCategory List 35 Feathers 8 Fill texture patterns 14 Texture Groups 19 Texture Overlays 11 Trees/partial 13 Leaves 11 shapes Asset Sample Sheets PDF sample Sheet x2 (not all assets displayed) Single asset file with 7 subcategories Samples as displayed (had to change colour of some assets in library as don't display well on grey backgrounds) Also embedded repeating patterns (x2) had to be inserted to assets as group rather than embedded file (which is how I usually use them.) Enjoy! Hope you find them useful Vector Assets 01 01.pdf Vector Assets 01 02.pdf vectorAssets-Screech.zip
  13. Is there a reason that this happens at the end of a stroke when using the (Vector) Pencil Tool with tablet pressure in Designer? I often use the Pencil Tool because it's fully vector and super straight forward - no textures, clean look, and always has the option to expand strokes. But I've been noticing these weird ends where they should just be a round edge like the examples I made using the Pen Tool with pressure profiles (on the right). When I expand the strokes made with the Pencil Tool those weird edges actually expand too, leaving me with a bunch of messy stroke ends that are baked into the curve. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
  14. Hi everyone, I want to show you my vector art based on a real photo of a Honda Motorcycle.
  15. Is there a way to export a vector image with a transparent background? Edit: I want the file to be exported to a vector image like svg or eps. Exporting to a png file will not work because it is a raster image and the print shop that I'm working with needs a vector file with transparent background. BBC Logo White Negative.afdesign
  16. I want to use Affinity Photo to correct film scans so that I have a systematic way to correct skin tones using the vectorscope. I have seen some tutorials with video editors, and I wonder if there are any good workflow examples with AP. I come from Lightroom and I am new to AP, so many things I do is still very inefficient. For example, when I want the vectorscope to only measure the skin I do: crop part of skin -> adjust tones with wb adjustment layer -> copy wb adjustment layer -> go back in history to undo crop -> paste wb adjustment layer. There has to be a more elegant way?
  17. Today I had to add some editable vector content made in Designer to a InDesign document (Yeah, still in an open relationship with Affinity and InDesign…) Something that in old times I did copying from Illustrator and pasting on InDesign. Now, copying from Designer pastes as SVG or PNG, no other options. So I was to use Illustrator as intermediary when I noticed that I can paste the vectors on illustrator without problem, just like i'll love to do between Designer and InDesign. My question/suggestion is: Is it possible to add on Designer an option or preference setting that allow copied vectors to be compatible with InDesign the same way it does with illustrator? Just now, the options only allow to use SVG as pasteboard option and that is pasted on InDesign as crappy bitmap image. Is just that sometimes I need vector elements to be editable inside InDesign (which I still must use because, you know, tables ) and is horrible to open illustrator to do the trick.
  18. My first piece of work done entirely on iPad. Absolute game changer, thanks for all your efforts Serif. It was worth it. (Hi-res of this will end up on instagram later, once I’ve worked out how to reformat for square on iPad)
  19. In this tutorial, we'll cover landscape drawing, composition notions, the focal point, how to lead the viewer's eye and how the HSL dialog (hue, saturation and luminance) allows for incredible versatility in colour choices. Check it out here: https://www.isabelaracama.com/post/design-a-landscape-illustration-affinity-designer-tutorial
  20. Hai. I have some simple cat illustration. Hope you like it. Instagram Behance
  21. A Chinese Crested called Wizz, drawn in Affinity Designer as a tribute for a friend (Wizz passed in December last year). All vector apart from the pixel cloud brushes which came from the xresch clouds and smoke collection on the Affinity Store.
  22. When I change the size of the vector brush stroke, it loses it's brush type. Once I restart the program it works for a bit but then does it again. Anyone else having this issue?
  23. 15 Distressed halftone brushes for Affinity Designer. These brushes are created in Draw Persona (vector brushes) Check it out! https://www.amerkaricdigitalgoods.com/store/distressed-halftone-brushes
  24. I don't know if the Calligraphic Art Brush exists in Affinity Designer sice I'm a beginner but if it doesn't exist I think that you would need to add it to Affinity Designer because it helps a lot in vector inking. I hope that you will take this into consideration. Thank you
