  1. Hello, because i can't find any way to import a eps or svg or pdf (vector) as a brush, there is no chance to have a real vector (path) brush, right? So, i can not create a some rope elements, export this to a vector abject (instead of a png) and use it then as a brush. If so, i like to have this as a feature :-) Thanks
  2. Currently use Apple Motion in conjunction with FCPX for video production and animation, and would love it if there was some way to export the vector data as Motion shapes. It's currently possible through Illustrator using a script, but I feel it'd help massively if I had this inside of Affinity Designer. Something similar to this video
  3. Hi Guys. I have a problem with exporting 192x192 PNGs the icons become grainy below an example. Thanks Affinity Icons Inkscape Icons
  4. Only For Brick Lovers is an iMessage sticker pack inspired by retro bricks. It was made with Affinity Designer and it is now available on the App Store. Only For Brick Lovers link: https://itunes.apple.com/app/only-for-brick-lovers/id1301105894?l=en&mt=8itunes.apple.com/app/only-for-brick-lovers/id1301105894?l=en&mt=8 Instagram - Twitter
  5. I would like to see a offset path function. This is operation I use often and can not go with out. Outline object and outline stroke would be nice too.
  6. Hi all! i hope u enjoy this!!!!
  7. Hi all, simple art made inspired by monsters de game maplestory.
  8. Hello all, Im trying to achieve a distressed look on an American flag for a client, which is proving to be troublesome for me. I have an SVG file of the American flag, redid the color scheme per client request, and I am having trouble editing/erasing/distressing the texture on the flag. The WIP is attached, but is ultimately unable to achieve what is needed. The second attachment is what the client is specifically looking for. So basically, I need a vector flag with distress on the image (to simulate wear & tear), and retain a transparent background in between the lines, if that makes any sense. Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks American Flag Distressed.pdf
  9. I love Affinity Designer, please keep up the good work. It's coming along nicely, but I have run into some basic usability issues that significantly slow down my workflow. I think these would be useful for most users. Please add some form of vector trace - I am still keeping other vector apps for just this 1 feature. The Selection Marquee can’t select layers within groups - can this be added as an option or to the direct selection tool. With large documents, finding and selecting multiple layers really slows down the workflow. When ungrouping from a hidden group the layers don’t become hidden (which I would prefer) and I have to do that manually. Can they stay hidden by default unless I unhide the group and then ungroup, Can I change the highlight colour In Export tab When zoomed out with alot of slices. I can’t tell which slices I have chosen unless I have them all both selected and ticked. Please enable macros - this would be useful for many repetitive tasks making long shadows for example Again thanks for a great application. These are just suggestions (apart from number 1).
  10. Hello Friends, here are some (butterfly) vector graphics that I created with Affinity Designer. Schmetterling als Vektorgrafik: Schwalbenschwanz (Papilio machaon, the old world swallowtail). http://b-bertuleit.de/vector-butterfly/ What do you think about this? Looking forward to a feedback from you, thank you very much.
  11. Just completed some artwork for DBD new album ---- all vector -----
  12. Hi, I am not really much of an artist - I just use photo and affinity to manage art assets for graphic novels which I receive from my illustrators, so this question might sound kind of silly. Let's suppose I have an EPS file and I want to select only part of it - maybe cut out a rectangular section - and paste this into a new document? I did see examples for using masks, but it seemed like the entire object was still there. Sorry if this is not specific enough, just looking to get some newbie guidance here
  13. Hello everyone, ok, so I am having issues with my svg vector artwork that I imported into Affinity Photo. The image looks normal when at 100 % zoom then when I zoom in it gets pixelated... although when I export in pdf or svg it looks fine. Is there an option I am missing somewhere? I just want to be able to zoom in and see the file how it will look when I export. Please let me know if you have an answer or suggestion? Thank you
  14. Been asked to do a pumpkin for a Halloween gig so thought I'd have a crack at doing one all vector:
  15. Waiting for the path offset feature I'd like to share my quick&dirty way to do it. It's pretty easy and gives good control on resulting shapes. Hope you'll find it useful!
  16. Affinity Designer vector illustration of my daughter at 19-days old. No pixels or vector brushes used here, just good old fashioned strokes and filled paths. Masks, transparency tool, layer FX and blend modes used where needed and a couple of adjustment layers to tweak the colours at the end. I'd guess there's around 2,000 elements make up this image - around 500 are individually positioned head hairs, and many of the individual wool strands are actually three strokes twisted together too which ups the object count. With all the blurs and depth of field stuff, it nearly kills my MacBook and takes a good 20+ seconds for the screen to redraw after every zoom or edit on high quality view settings - spent a lot of time in wireframe and low quality mode at the end. When I get a faster Mac, I'd like to add some of the less important detail that's missing to make it more convincing (e.g. the almost invisible eyebrow hairs, more detail to eyes etc.) and tweak some of the bits that are annoying me. No idea how long it took as I've been working on it on and off in my spare time (which is practically non-existent with a baby) since December - I'd estimate 30-50 hours. Anyway, hope you like it!
  17. Captain Noise character I originally came up with for Nottinghams NLC charity festival
  18. Super quick re-creation of a direct mail valentines card I designed a few years back which was originally done all in InDesign as vector artwork using blurs and bevels - the chocolate heart text was set up as variable data and output 10up on an SRA3 sheet and run to a Xerox digital press - the choc text was originally smaller to accommodate longer names from the database - worked a treat
  19. Thought I'd have a mess about with distressed vector textures which ended up as this apple
  20. First piece in my classic car series done in AD.
  21. Discovery You discover something that is very important to you. Sometimes it's like out of the blue, and you don't know much about it (Because you got used to something else, maybe). Later, you don't want to miss it anymore. Meine Inspiration zu dieser Arbeit war das Album Cover „Discovery“ von ELO. http://b-bertuleit.de/discovery/ I'm looking forward to feedbacks, thank you friends
  22. I'm trying to change the fill and stroke on a vector I drew with a brush. I either can't edit it at all or I can only color in half. I'm totally new and learning as I go. I exported the original drawing as a PSD that preserved editability. rose1.psd rose pink.psd
  23. Here's a stylised portrait that I've finally finished after been sat on my HD for a couple of years. All vectors, no pixels. Liberal use of layer blends, fx, transparency, masks etc and a bit of tweaking to give the colours a more vintage feel. Initially a quick colouring/shading test and just made it up as I went along; it worked out well and taught me the principles I used in my recent baby portrait. It's not anyone in particular, just a random selection of Google image searches refenced for the various facial features as I drew them. After all these years, I'm finally free from Illustrator and it's tedious Gradient Mesh!
  24. New work. This started out as just the head and it grew. I used this one to play with text -I just loved the way I could get right in and adjust the scripty word, 'Tae' until I was happy. Vector plus textures and a little work in Pixel mode. Anyway, I hope you like it. And do go to Scotland to see the famous 'Tobermory Floaties'.
