  1. I can't seem to import a vector image from photoshop to Affinity Designer without it turning into a pixel image... I'm drawing .svg and .psd files and I need to "convert to curves" so that I can create a logo with image pattern inside like so (see link below) ... how do I do this?? yout ube.com/watch?v=3rIk Gcfp_ko
  2. Hello guys, My site is ready and online My goal is to make all future products completely free, but for now, I can not keep the site without the paid products, so, some products will be paid, it will be free, so, My license is different from other markets all products are free To create your own HTML themes. I plan on upload something new every week, On Friday, preferably I hope you like it, please, feel free to contact me at any time, And donations are always welcome https://affinitymarketui.com/ Best Regards Heli Herrera
  3. I Would Really like to turn a simple black and white image into a vector Image , an ability that is available on other Vector creating softwares I cant wait until you place this ability into Affinity Designer
  4. Hey, Could be great if affinity had something to sculpt a bit the nodes, without going one by one. (even if only one drag brush).
  5. I would like to see the background image when activating the outline mode, I am requesting this option since 2014
  6. I'm being a bit cheeky, I have to admit! Someone a while back pointed out that you can pass vector images from DrawPlus to AD by exporting them as PDFs. The Autotrace studio in DP is a lot of fun to play with, and these pics were put through it with suitably tweaked parameters. I imported the PDFs into AP to clean them up a little and trim any white space from the edges. I don't claim any artistic merit (except in the Dad-ist sense that I chose the originals and decided which ones to post and which ones weren't good enough). But I like the kind of near-abstract decomposition that often comes out, and I shall take inspiration and have a go at making some vector jobs entirely by hand.
  7. Hey guys how you doing today? It's a bright shinny day today but yesterday was a cold dark one. Rainy at moments in the morning so I took an hour with my son to draw and do arts. I'm a logo/jersey designer and he asked me a Cheetah themed jersey if he passes his grade. So I came up with a logo and now looking to design the jersey with the colors he gave to me. Here's the logo so far. I'll let you see the jersey design when its done and the jersey when its printed and sewed. Should be a month long process since we're doing a lot of overtime these days - no time for personal project - but should be fun! We are working with Adobe's products but at home I'm running both Adobe's and Affinity's and I prefer by far Affinity (unless the tools are existent yet). So this will be done within Affinity from the sketch to the final jersey. (Designer have been used for the Logo - Photo for the presentation). Thanks!
  8. I love the vector style :) Here are some vector portraits that I have created with Affinity Designer. Below the picture there is a link to my website, where you can view the works in a larger format. http://b-bertuleit.de/vektorzeichnungen/
  9. Vector Illustration (AD), The movie "2046" by Wong Kar-Wai inspired me to this vector graphic. The boa and the butterfly come from me. I think that fits;-)
  10. Hello, because i can't find any way to import a eps or svg or pdf (vector) as a brush, there is no chance to have a real vector (path) brush, right? So, i can not create a some rope elements, export this to a vector abject (instead of a png) and use it then as a brush. If so, i like to have this as a feature :-) Thanks
  11. Quick illustration I did for Instagram self-promo. Playing with the isometric grid. Good times.
  12. Will a toggle for outline view for layers be available in 1.6? This is pretty vital for tracing.
  13. Hello, I would like to show you a little progress of what I have been able to do thanks to affinity designer, I love this program
  14. Hello everyone! I would like to show you some portraits I did some time ago in Affinity Designer. It was fun! Let me know what do you think. You can see full project on my Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/49551783/Random-portraits-01-09
  15. Hi, My export files seems like they have jpeg compression, they are not sharp. First I tought it was Instagram who did extra compression or gmail. But the original files on the HD are not good. So something goes wrong with the export. It's vector fom Designer. And I need an export for web. What are the best PNG settings? are what's going wrong? Thnx.
  16. I am currently evaluating the Windows trial version. I have been using Inkscape exclusively for vector illustration. One feature of Inkscape I use frequently is an align option that allows aligning the left edge of an object to the right edge of an anchor object (or vice-versa). I am not finding an equivalent option under the available align entries. Should I add this as a feature request or is it just buried somewhere that I haven't discovered yet? I use this align feature to implement shapes that are symmetrical. I create one half of the desired shape, duplicate, flip horizontal, align left and right edges, then combine the 2 shapes into one. Perhaps there is some alternative method to achieve the same effect?
  17. In vector portraits (Affinity Designer), eyes are always the most important thing. They are (as in "real" life) an absolutely meaningful view. In this example, I especially worked out the eyes. I 'm looking forward to your feedback, thank you :)
  18. Hi, When I freehand sketch ('Draw Persona'), Designer makes certain choices when interpreting my Vector Brush-ed or Pencil-ed lines into vectors. ¿¿ Is there a preference or settings dialog to control how accurate the resulting sketched path is?? Like: many nodes for 'Accurate', fewer nodes for 'Simplified, etc.? thanks, - pbass
  19. Something I've been working on recently - http://houseofdeadleg.co.uk/portfolio/the-kings-hat/
  20. This is something I always had to work around in Illustrator. All object 3D transforms sharing the same perspective. I made it work by adding an empty rectangle that had neither a fill, nor a line to a group and did the transform on that. So I could add to it. For Affinity a new and more thought out system would make sense. What I'm suggesting is a basic 3D space. No raytracing or rendering tools here. Just a basic space where to put vector and pixel objects into and place them soundly with each other. A bit like Apple's Motion with rotation and 3D position tools. For compositing / matte painting the cherry on top would be the ability to import Alembic or FBX camera files with a distance readout on the Z-Buffer for fogs, fades and blurs (like a dynamic alpha). This new space could be the basis for a more sophisticated grid system to create single and multi-point perspective grids for various uses from lettering to comic book panels. Combined with the ability to toggle objects from their normal object type to guides (and back) this could make it very easy to visually create complex grid systems for perspective drawings. The lower level the implementation, the better. Think of a vector warp tool that adheres to its points being dragged in a 3D context. It would make wraparound logos a breeze. Or tin can label mockups that accurately match but still remain 100% live editable vector. For basic modelling an extrude/lathe would be expected though, since Illustrator has that. Badly done, but it's there.
  21. „Lene“, one of my first vector portraits with Affinity Designer. http://b-bertuleit.de/lene/ More portrait works you can find here: http://b-bertuleit.de/tag/portrait/ I would appreciate your feedback :) - - - SORRY, the links have changed: http://b-bertuleit.de/vektorzeichnungen/
  22. Haven't posted in awhile trying out some new styles. thx
  23. Hi, Say I stroke a closed shape with a Vector Brush (in Designer). There is always a gap at the terminal point. Say you don't want the gap. No matter how you edit the brush's Properties – including Head or Tail Offset, Overlap, Pull, etc., – there's always a gap at the closing node. Is there a trick I don't know? (Besides opening the curve and tugging the end nodes for visual stroke overlap.) Wouldn't visual vector-brush stroke closure be a desirable feature for some/many purposes? ¿Could this option be designed into Brush Properties, in a later A.D. update? thanks in advance, – pbass
