  1. it is possible to set an object rotated by 35 degrees, for example, to zero. A simple example: I rotate a rectangle by 35 degrees. Now I want to make a text frame out of it and I don't want the font to be skewed. So now I would have to say you are not rotated, the way you are standing is zero degrees.
  2. Is there a way to rotate multiple objects around their own rotation centre, without selecting each one? I have a graphic with many (100+) objects, that have to be rotated, and can't really find a solution.
  3. Hi After having downloaded image from web-site, on which i'd like to give the webmaster a hint on pics-sizes, I intended to reduce the images size dramatically from over 6 mb down to only necessary measurement of something like 320px × 215px (orig: 6.106px × 4.093px!). However, section to "Transform" is inactive. How to get access to these parameters? How can I edit the pic? Tks & Greez Tamaleus
  4. I'd like to see a feature comparabale to Illustrator where you can rotate, scale and move a set of selected anchor points from a given pivot Point. Right now, rotating only part of a path is quite a tedious task, whereas in AI it's a matter of seconds. This feature would be even more useful if the adjacent anchor Points which are not selected would transform proportionally to keep a smooth shape.
  5. Hi there, I am trying to convert a square shaped border image that has text incorporated into the border onto a cd, turning it into a circular shape...when I had Adobe PS, this was an easy task that took me seconds...but this time, I have spent hours trying to find a solution and have a deadline to meet and am refusing to pay an extortionate monthly fee just to use Photoshop just for this. I have exhausted my trial offers too. I have only been using Affinity Design for about two months and have scoured the net for tutorials and haven't found any help in the forums here either...does anyone have any suggestions please? I have included past work demonstrating what it should look like as well as the image I need help with, the client wanted it in black but the printers didn't like it so have had to rework everything and invert the lot...which was a lot of hard work I'd rather not do again, although that's looking like its all I can do. Thanks in advance! OUTER FRONT COVER-CV CD-NEW-PSD-improved.pdf
  6. In this short tutorial I'll show you how to draw simple polygon spirals in Affinity Designer 1.6.0. We will use the rotation origin, transformation panel and the duplicate function. Link to the video on YouTube Enjoy the video and have fun to draw your own polygon spirals. It's simple but interesting! Norbert
  7. ENGLISH : Hello to you . Question: 1) I need to deform a regular rectangular shape on a layer (a classic "frame" at right angles) to get the drawing (same reason therefore) transformed or deformed by an irregular trapezoid of its shape (its "frame" of which the angles have been varied). 2) Similarly, I am looking for a way to have a "perspective" tool (=> ???). => I tried with all sorts of handles and all kinds of keyboard shortcuts (as it exists on Illustrator!), But did not arrive there. It's very annoying ! There is only the double horizontal arrow tool between the top handle of the center of the form and its middle upper point that works. But this only effects a lateral transformation of the 2 upper points of a shape. Or, for example: How to move a single angle at a time, (deformation), or 2 angles simultaneously opposite (perspective)? => Because it is really a type of essential tools on a vector drawing software (the "point by point" being very laborious and wasting a lot of time). Thank you for your reply.
  8. Hello, I wold really like to see more text transformation tools so that we can make varied typography designs. Warp text and fish, etc. would be very helpful for logos, products, and printables.
  9. I understand there is a right dot you can grab and resize, but is there a way to resize using the transformation tool?
  10. Hi Will you ever add text warp style like in illustrator and photoshop, beacuse we need this to our projects :/ It's too hard to make always text on curve ? Text warp styles such as: Fish eye, arch, bulge, shell, flag, wave,
  11. First, let me thank everyone at Serif for the amazing job they've done creating Affinity Designer - you're awesome! I would really love to see the addition of transformation effects - scale, shear, rotate, positional adjustment, cloning with recursive transformations, path offset, geometry manipulations, shape distortion, etc. - and, before you tell me that these requests have already been made ('cause let's face it, none of those requests are very original ideas), I'd really love to have the ability to create (and save for later use) a stack of transformation effects that can either act on an object in a specific order according to where they are placed in a hierarchy or can be independently applied where possible (kind of like the way an effects-pedal loop on a guitar amp can apply an effect to the raw, "dry" signal without it directly having an effect on or being directly affected by another effects-pedal). Then, let these transformation stacks be chained together with other transformation stacks. This could be an incredibly powerful and useful tool. I'd suggest also including an option to randomize the variables for those transformations within a user-set range. If anyone else agrees or has additional ideas on this, please post a reply.
  12. As an old FreeHand User I miss an input field for the origin of a transformation and one for the number of copies too for a value input. Greetings from bielefeld, Germany
  13. Either via transformation boundary box like in Gravit https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2Qk51a00zWG9uSm8/view or via a transformation tool like pressing S defending a scalding center and then move the mouse to scale and rotate around it If I missed this in Affinity please let me know. Using the transformation window doing symmetrical scaling is not really ideal
  14. I'm having some difficulties with the usage of variables in the transformation fields. I want to resize an Object in relation to the document size - how do I do that? By the looks of it the transformation fields effectively do not allow any reference to document size but only to the object size. I can't belive this is true considering variables for document size interaction seem to be available. All variables described in "Variable for transformation related to page" (in German "Variablen für Transformationen mit der Seite") in the help file do not work in the transformation fields. The only variable working is "w" for Object width or "h" for Object hight. What am I doing wrong? Cheers, Timo
  15. Hi, when I use the transformation panel to type in exact values it happens regularly that I overlook that the anchor point is set to a false position which I realize just after hitting return. On my display the brighter color is more obvious than the bigger (grey) area. So in my opinion it would be more obvious and better to: 1. not to have only a bigger area for the current anchor point (status quo) but also in the brighter color as it is now (and I do not know why, but always for the top left position) 2. don't tint the top left corner in white - it's only confusing and competing with the actual setting My two cents, Stefan.
  16. Hi, I am new to this forum and looking forward to learning more about Affinity Photo! I just started using Affinity Photo over the last five days to do processing on jpeg images of architecture that required change to perspective, lines need straightening typically. I noticed some earlier discussion on the topic but I cannot see if this has moved on. Are there are ways in Affinity Photo to deal with this problem? I have looked for video tutorials but I cannot find any. Many thanks for any Advice PJ.
  17. I’m looking for the anchor point in affinity designer. please tell me how to rotation shape with anchor point? :huh:hope you understand my poor English
Viel Spaß Euer Jack Bauer Hello, I provided another Affinity Photo on YouTube. This time as a kind of a Quick Tipp how to use the several transform and warp tools. Because they are different compared to other software. I wish fun with that Ciao Jack Bauer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUm1DY2i_R4
  19. As a long time vector graphics user, the one main issue I have with Designer is the selection/bounding/transformation box. For me, it is the most obtrusive aspect of Designer, and causes the most frustrations. When trying to make multiple selections, the bounding box makes it extremely difficult to select surrounding objects up to almost 1-2 pixels. The bounding box also becomes extremely difficult when dealing with text; try double clicking text at anything at, or below, a 24pt font and you'll start to understand the issues. When working on designs, I want to see the design as much as possible with less obstructions, especially when tweaking. I want to hide that bounding box altogether and focus on the design of whatever I'm doing. This is a simplified example, but which do you feel allows you to focus on the design rather than the UI? Please allow us to just show the outline of selections then hotkey Option (or something easy) for rotation and Alt for scale. This would solve a lot of issues of selecting other objects nearby without the problems of getting transformation queues from the bounding box. This is the one feature, above anything else, that would make Designer hands down the most enjoyable for me.
  20. Hi, Right now in Affinity Photo when you place an embedded document and use the perspective tool it gets rasterized. You can no longer double-click the layer to change the file. Same thing in Affinity Designer, there is not much you can do other than simple skew. /Fjord
  21. Would you be able to make an object rotate around another object by changing its anchor point?
  22. Hey folks, I am wondering how to adapt the shape of an embedded object (=of the corresponding layer) to the shape of the mockup? When I want to build a screen in an iPhone mockup I have no problem putting the screen as a rectangular shape in the frame. But when the iPhone is tilted, lets say in a hand, I want to transform the screen in the frame accordingly. Anybody solved that? Best, David
  23. Beside "Mesh Warp" and "Perspective" I think it would be interesting to have a transformation command (really "deformation") like it exists in Photoshop's Edit menu. Not only permitting perspective deformation, also stretching or compressing in vertical and horizontal directions, free rotating, irregular edge transformation to adapt (correct) nonsymmetric perspectives, etc. Emilio
  24. I have a minor transformation box suggestion. Could the rotate "hotspot" be a wee bit larger or further away from the corner? I find especially when using a pen/tablet that the resize and rotate icon/hotspots flip a lot back and forth and it takes a little effort to get the one you want. I think if the rotates hotspot was a little further off each corner you would be able to get into the general area and spin it around quickly without too much effort. To resize, would be just to get in closer to the actual corner...
