  1. The swatches panel freezes and becomes unresponsive when adding a new global color from a new document. The issue is resolved after quitting and restarting the application. Let me know if you need any more info to replicate and fix this issue. Thanks.
  2. When I add a palette to my document and want to add the currently active color to my custom palette, I cannot use the little pallette icon to add the current color to the custom palette as I have seen demonstrated in tutorials and as the tool tip indicates is intended for that purpose. Further, when I do add a color to the custom palette through the active object>drop down>add color to palette, then add chord colors to that current color item, the entire lineup of square palette icons is misaligned, located above where it should be. Is perhaps the little palette (add current color to palette) icon's active spot in the UI also misaligned? Version: Designer 1.6.1 on iMac Mojave 10.14.2 Thank you.
  3. Doesn't seem to be possible - or am I just being stupid …? Also could there be a way - if there isn't already to layer shapes on top of a photo…? I'm redecorating my bedroom at the moment and I've laboriously converted all the colours I'm considering into RGB and Hex values, I just need a way of playing around with them. I don't see any way of adding additional swatches to a palette (it is almost 03:30 though, but I do better at night). Yes, I know that screen colours are not going to be the same as the actual paint (wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a way of reconciling them somehow, some kind of intermediary colour space).I've already found that one green I was considering was far bluer 'in the flesh' than it was on Dulux's website.
  4. Here is the set of gradients "WEB 2.0 v.3" converted from the free .grd Photoshop file. I downloaded the PS gradient file from this site and converted it into .afpalette. It's a pity that creating .afpalette files from .grd files is so time-consuming, I hope that in the upcoming versions of Affinity programs, the ability to import the .grd file will be added, just like it is with files .abr WEB 2.0 v.3 gradients.afpalette
  5. Affinity Photo Reset individual included Swatches to Default. For example one may want to reset Greys or Colors or Gradients to default after adding those that you no longer need.
  6. Affinity Photo: How to Reset Color Swatches Palette to default? In Swatches Affinity Color Palette Gray I've added Swatches. After doing that I don't seem to see a way to reset it back to the default Grey Swatches. How would I do that?
  7. Could we please have a tint slider in Swatches in addition to opacity.
  8. The ability to group global colors into schemes by saving the state of the entire group. Individual global color could be changed and save the new group state as a new scheme. This would allow having multiple color schemes for a group and change the look of the entire document merely by switching color schemes.
  9. I keep color swatch books for all my clients. Coming from Adobe, I can just create a swatch collection for each client and upload to Creative Cloud. Then when I need to work on something for that client I simply load their folder and have all my swatches ready to use. I thought I could do the same thing with Affinity's Palette system, but I am running into issues. In order for a Palette to be available to all Affinity programs, I have to make System Palettes. It works, except when it comes to saving Spot colors (I need a set of Pantone colors). When I try to save a Pantone swatch in the System palette, the swatch gets saved to a new Document palette instead. This does me no good because next time I start a new document, I have to go looking for all the swatches. Furthermore, I cannot make them Global. Am I missing something? Or will I have to create an Application palette each time and export that to import into the other 2 programs every time? That will get annoying if I have to update their color schemes down the road.
  10. Dear Team! So far, I do love your apps :-) One thing I would love to see is a common color swatch/palette management. In other words, having one common color palette database used by all the programs would help to keep consistency. Maybe that's somehow possible in future versions. Cheers, Chris
  11. I noticed that sometimes swatches on swatch panel doesn't show correct color. It seems like it shows raw color without document profile applied (CMYK workspace). Please see screencast and file with that problem. swatch bug.afdesign Swatch preview bug.mov
  12. Hi, I'm new to Affinity, enjoying it a lot, still much to discover. Is there a shortcut to reset the black and white swatches? cheers Geoffrey
  13. Hi Guys, I need your help. I haven’t seen a tutorial of how to make a swatch or import a swatch or what files are supported for that. What am I missing? Thanks in advance, Alex
  14. How to Reproduce: Create several dummy shapes Color the shapes and create swatches for some of those colors With the Swatches panel open, alternately select the shapes If the shape's fill/stroke color matches a swatch, the respective swatch appears selected in the Swatches Panel (this is good) If the shape's fill/stroke color doesn't match a swatch, the last swatch still appears selected (this is bad) How to Solve: When an object's fill/stroke color doesn't match a swatch, none of the swatches should appear selected
  15. Why is it the set of colors different from the layers panel to the options bar?
  16. Hi Folks, I am new to Affinity Designer. I have 3 questions related to the swatches panel: Is there a way to resize the panel? A lot of space is wasted on swatches that only have a handful of colors. I accidentally deleted a couple swatches when I was playing around trying to remove colors from a particular swatch (note to self: "delete palette" does not mean "clear pallet"). They were default swatches. Is there a way to get them back? Is there a way to change the swatch color tooltip value from RGB to Hex (or anything else for that matter)? Thanks in advance! john
  17. There are a few things I wish would be possible with colors: - Ability to select and delete several colors at once from swatches - When one deletes a global color, the software should ask if one wants it to be replaced by another one.. so that all elements using the deleted color then become the new chosen replacement one (or at least tell the user that he's about to delete a color that is actually used in their graphic. Hope these can be implemented..
  18. Double click any swatch in the Swatches panel Switch to any of the sliders controls (RGB, CMYK, LAB, happens in all of them) if needed Place cursor on the first field (R for RGB or C for CMYK, etc...) in the flyout window Type a new number, works fine Tab to the second value (G or M, etc...), type new value, works fine Tab to the third value (B or Y, etc..), you can't type anymore I aso noticed the if you tab between like above, but without changing value, by the time you reach the third value the focus switches from the Swatches panel flyout to the application main menu at the top. Thanks!

  20. Analogous chord created with missing color as the base color is duplicated. Steps: Create new document: Type: web Units: Pixels Color Format: RGB/8 W: 1280 px Height: 800 px DPI: 96 Draw a Rectangle (I made it a square) and fill with base color; then duplicate object 2 times. Base color: R: 200 G: 35 B: 35 / H: 0 S: 70 L: 46 From Swatches tab: Create palette from document > as application palette Under Swatches tab: Delete the 2 created fills From Color tab: Create Color Chord > Analogous Result: Created palette swatch: R: 200 G: 35 B: 35 / Shows as H: 0 S: 70 L: 46 2 (duplicated Base color, should be new color 1) R: 200 G: 118 B: 35 / Shows as H: 0 S: 70 L: 46 (Base color) R: 200 G: 35 B: 35 / Shows as H: 0 S: 70 L: 46 (new color 2) Reference: I was following this tutorial on YouTube: "Affinity Designer - Colour Chords" *Notes: possible regression as the person in video creates Analogues palette correctly (I don't know what version they used) I was able to create all of other 9 palette types correctly from this same video instructions. My version: 1.6.2.97 Attached: Two example files: Analogous.afdesign: Analogous2.afdesign:
  21. Unlike what happens when assigning a palette color to the filling of an object, if I assign a palette color to a colour overlay effect then I change the palette color, the objects with the assigned effect don’t change color. (Tested with Affinity Designer 1.6.0 on High Sierra)
  22. When I use the default white swatch or create one myself and save it, instead of H:0 S:100 L:100 (which appears as pure white), it saves as H:0 S:0 L:100 (which appears as off white). Step 1a: Click default white swatch or select H:0 S:100 L:100 on color wheel and save swatch. Step 1b: If user created swatch, select swatch user created. Step 2: Observe swatch is recalled as H:0 S:0 L:100 instead of H:0 S:100 L:100. PLS NOTE: HSL DATA IS SWAPPED ON THE PHOTO.

  24. Hi, somehow in between i just lost somehow all of my brushpresets, and most of my swatches but those of pantone.. This also happened somehow on another computer.. We use at the moment Affinity Photo 1.6.0.89. This looks like a bug, cant say the specific moment when it got lost.. in between the work later on i noticed something had changed, but cant put my finger on any special moment.. so how can i avoid this, and how can i get my palettes and brushes back ?
  25. Hi, So when it comes to colors, here´s a little suggestion what could be done to improve the workflow when you start your document and decide to use swatches and improve your colours. dont look at the design of my idea, rather look at the idea... When you creat colour chords, right now , you can select a colour and right click, select from some possibilitys like Complementary, Triadic and so on.. I would like a funktion to open a window like shown, get an optical representation inside of the color wheel and adjust my colors by just rotaiting in this example my colors, to change them, than just move some triangles or points, to adjust the amount of the color split, and than just klick load them to my palette.. only maybe, could it be possible for the program, to use my underlaying actual image, and interactive while rotating, moving and adjusting my Color Chord , somehow change interactive also the most corresponding olors of the opend image ? not sure how this could be possible.. but the first part, just creating color chords this way, as it is allready possible in many video edditing programs, would be an improvement.. maybe put it to your whishlists.. greetings
