  1. Hello, As this lesson here Stylish Strokes: Textured Lines the bee which is a round circle has a brush stroke that starts and ends in full, which means that the brush stroke covers all the areas see photo. But in my case there is a small gap in the circle! see photo. Is this a problem or this is the way it should look? And Thank you :)
  2. Is it possible to assign separate blend modes for an object stroke and fill with Affinity Designer? For instance I'd like to apply a blend mode of Multiply to the black fill of a rectangle but want to leave the white stroke color as normal. I have this same question for opacities as well. I ask because I'm able to do this in Illustrator and use it all the time. If there is another way of approaching this in Designer w/o having to duplicate the object (one for fill and one for stroke), please enlighten. Thanks!
  3. Hello guys, I tried sometimes to use that tool but I have no idea how to. What are all those features like Cap, Join and Align besides that Miter and Pressure? How do they work and how to use them? Any example? Thanks in advance
  4. I know it maybe hard to do because the PSD files from PS have different structures from Affinity, but It's going to be perfect if it can do correctly. Please try my file.. It only happens to text. I set text stoke effect in PS at 1px, but the imported result is 5.3px. However I am really happy with the RC1 version. Various bugs have been fixed and almost everything run correctly. Cheers. test_PSDtext.psd
  5. Hi guys, I'm new here to the forum and new to affinity designer. So far I'm loving the software, however I seemed to have ran into a bit of a problem, It's kind of hard to explain but, whenever I draw something with the pen tool on a new layer it always starts out with no fill, I click on the “use fill” check box which seems to solve the problem temporarily, but then when I draw another shape in the same layer the settings goes back to no fill & no stroke on the new shape and I have to click 'use fill' again. Also when I go to edit a shape that I previously made, the fill and stroke disappear and the settings just automatically reset to no fill & no stroke, and I have to go back and choose the colour I had previously... is there anyway to fix this? And is there any way I can use the fill option by default without having to click it every time I make a new shape?
  6. Hi all, what you think about the following: when I click on "Kontur" (see image: A) I wanna change the stroke width in nearly nine times out of ten. That's why I would love to have the input field already selected (marked value - see B in the attached picture). So that it would be possible to immediately start to manipulate the value with e.g. cursor up/down or typing in your desired value. Suppose that it would have been implemented that way ... users who wanna work like I described would be happy. Users who are not interested in using cursor up/down to immediately manipulate the value aren't interrupted in their workflow in this way, are they? Thanks in advance, Stefan.
  7. For me, the UI for the Stroke colour and width could be refined. Now, the width indicator is always white and it doesn't reflect the current colour that is being used for the stroke. For me, it would be better if the stroke width indicator (if that is what it is called) appeared as the same colour as the stroke that was being applied. Sorry if that isn't so clear but my screen shot should make it clear. Hokusai PS. I'm loving new beta!
  8. Is there a way to use the transparency tool to only apply on the fill or just the stroke of the object… I cannot seem to find a checkbox or setting for this to only affect a particular attribute. Thanks!
  9. Apparently the brushes are not working correctly, as you can see in the picture I'm using a brush that has a broad center and is narrower in the beginning and the end,but in the figure, the line has a solid and uniform stroke.
  10. What about a quick expand button for stroked objects? I do this a lot and quick button to perform an expand stroke and union of parts would be great.
  11. Offsetting paths. Currently I've resorted to expanding the stroke, but the trouble of having to manually having to delete the inner nodes (especially on more complex shapes) can take up a lot of time.
  12. Hey guys, I want to draw a double circle arrow for my origami tutorial ebook, I used ronniemcbride method to create the arrow head, then I create a circle and convert it to curve and cut it into half and duplicate it to become the double arrow circle, like below, but the arrow head is crooked, how do I make perfect double circle arrow? Left: arrowhead brush created by me Right: arrowhead brush created by ronniemcbride
  13. It would be a very useful feature to copy the features of a text , color type, size and color contour like Corel Draw funcion.
  14. Is there a way to keep all brush strokes in a single layer instead of making a layer for every stroke?
  15. Hi, First of all I'd like to thank you for the really great software. I am currently using Affinity Designer for UI projects / icons and it improved my skills undoubtly. I could write an essay about how you made my designer life better (and I am sure that many others said it before) so I will go straight to the point: 1. Expand stroke I am making some vector graphic and I am using pressure panel to make the stroke look more handwritten and after that I was using expand stroke command and it goes pretty well with simple curves, but with more complex ones it gives me wrongly converted objects is there any solution for this? Maybe, am I doing something wrong? 2. Flatten transparency Are there some tools for print preparation as flatten transparency tool which would make me sure that in print everything would look good? Every advice would be helpful :)
  16. Drag the stroke width slider: Maximum is 100 points and minimum is 0 points¹ Select the point size field and scroll with the mouse.: Maximum is unlimited (OK), but minimum is also unlimited (a bug) ¹ Perhaps the minimum should be a hairline, or whatever the application's minimum line width is, as there is a button for No stroke.
  17. When I in node tool, I have 2 lines selected where the end node of one is on top of the begin of the other. I click the join button. The stroke scale changes from 1 on both lines to 1.4 for the combined. I do not have scale with object selected in "solid line style". How do I make it stop doing that. I want the stroke to be 1. BTW, thank you so much for an amazing software that is affordable.
  18. Hi team, would love to see this addressed soon. Way too many nodes on expanded strokes still. Is this being looked into? To make files airtight when sending out to either clients or printers, I always expand all of my strokes so there are no chances of logo or illo strokes being enlarged or reduced if not set to scale with the object... the current amount of nodes generated is not ideal. See attached. Cheers.
  19. 1. Is there a way to move a handle while having multiple objects selected? 2. Is it possible to add multiple strokes to just one shape? The attached file are 3 layers of rectangles with a slight curve, I copy pasted each rectangle on top of each other to create a multi stroke "look" by aligning each rectangle stroke to inside, outside and centre but now if I want to alter the curve with all 3 rectangles selected to alter the curve uniformly, how can I achieve this?
  20. I've tried the "Scale with Object" option, but it can work only grouped elements. Can It work with Artboard? Please help.
  21. Is it possible to stroke only selected curves within an object? (Without breaking the object) Thanks
  22. Hi, When I make a vector artwork smaller, the line gets thicker? How can I keep the same width when I resize my artworks? Also, when I make it bigger, the lines don't keep their ration anymore. They get shorter. How can I keep this unchanged? Thank you!
  23. In AD, it's very easy to add custom Pressure effects to pen strokes and brush strokes. Out of pure curiosity, I wonder if the programers might make it possible to add pressure effects to a dashed line, so that it could be thin on one end, tick in the middle, and thin on the other end, for example. I've included a file to demonstrate the rough idea of the concept. Needless to say, it was not made by combining brush pressure with dashed line. Pressure Dash.afdesign
  24. Hi, I draw some strokes for a logo (look at the attached picture). I used strokes and changed the pressure to have different width along the line. The end of the stroke is round. I wanted to export my work in eps format to be able to print it ou use it with Illustrator... I saw in the eps file in illustrator that the round of my stokes became broken lines. Come back in AD, I decide to vectorise the stroke (layer menu). In french it's called "vectoriser le contour". And I obtain the same result : broken lines... Is it a normal behavior ? I also wonder why there are so many nodes (and no tools to simplify all those nodes). It's very difficult to change/adjust quickly the curve with so many useless nodes !! I hope my explanation is clear. Thank you.
  25. I do a lot of linear and I often experiment with different stroke widths. I'd like to be able to edit the stroke width of multiple objects at one time. The lack of this feature in AD has always been surprising to me, since all graphic design apps I've used have something similar. To briefly describe the feature, I'd like to be able to choose a few objects and set the stroke width of all of them to 4px, regardless of their previous stroke widths or lack thereof. I think this will be useful in a wide array of scenarios.
