  4. Hi, I'm new to this community but wanted to say I'm really enjoying Affinity Designer as an alternative Professional Vector Graphics Software. So much so, that I've started sharing my knowledge using Affinity via Skillshares platform. Looking forward to learning from others here in this community too. I created a Skillshare class called "From Screen to Print: A Simple Colour System" If you are preparing artwork for a commercial print house this class will help get your colours right between screens, print devices and paper stocks. I also show you other helpful tips including global colours in Affinity Designer. Here is the link: https://skl.sh/2Iutp0r You can use this link to sign up for two free months of Skillshare Premium and watch my classes for free. I hope you find it helpful.

  8. I posted my second class on Skillshare this week. In this class I demonstrate how to use a grid and Affinity Designer's Symbol functionality to create seven decorative border patterns. With Symbols, you can design a repeat unit, turn it into a symbol and watch the entire pattern dynamically change while making changes to one instance of the repeat unit. The symbol also updates on the fly. The Affinity Designer files I'm using can be downloaded from within the class. Here is the link: http://skl.sh/2ylcYPr You can use this link to sign up for two free months of Skillshare Premium and watch my classes for free. The sign-up section is at the top of the linked page. I hope you find this class useful.
  9. I posted my first class on Skillshare yesterday. In this class I demonstrate how to use Affinity Designer to: - set up a geometric grid for laying out an Arts and Crafts style decorative pattern - vectorise and style the pattern, and - create a textured intensity brush. The grids, brush and class notes can also be downloaded from within the class. Here is the link: http://skl.sh/2tN12Xi You can use this link to sign up for two free months of Skillshare Premium and watch my class for free. The sign-up section is at the top of the linked page. I hope you find this class useful. This is also a great way to check out Skillshare's library of classes. Do you have a tutorial to share? With Skillshare you can turn your tutorials into classes. Cheers Chris
  10. One of my new Instagram friends, Lindsey Slutz, @east_coast_charm has just released a course at SkillShare called "Creating Patterns in Affinity Designer. To launch it, she's making it free to the first 25 who sign up. (As of this writing, there are 9 spots left.) If there's still room, the link will be in her bio... https://www.instagram.com/east_coast_charm/ The class is short and the steps are very clearly explained. I think it's a great introduction to Affinity Designer, whether or not you want to create patterns. :) I really wish I'd seen it before I tried teaching myself A.D.
