  1. Hi, often I have coworkers on my workstation. They like Affinity Photo but can't get stuff done fast because they only know the shortcuts from Photoshop or other coworkers from Krita. Can you guys put a option in Affinity Photo to switch to Photoshops or Kritas shortcuts fast and back, so my coworkers can get stuff done on my machine too? That would help a lot,
  2. So I have a gamer mouse that has 2 side buttons (buttons 4 and 5) and i am wanting to bind one of those buttons to the Toggle Fix Context (default X) but when I try to click those buttons while in the shortcut menu, it doesn't record the mouse click. What would i need to do to get this to toggle with the side mouse buttons?
  3. Hello, you can also use the shortcuts z.b. in the View panel - View Studio. At first you can not remember all the shortcuts. It would be great if all assigned cuts in the respective menus are also displayed. Yours Dieter
  4. Hello, how can one call the library over keyboard shortcuts - I do not find this in the shortcuts. Because you often need the library - eg. the macro - this should be added please. Thank you Dieter
  5. Hi everyone, I'd like to share with you a drawing I made that looks like a Windows keyboard. Some notes: I don't know exactly which tools are available to which personas, so please help me here. I'd appreciate very much if you posted it back with corrections. I use the Brazilian keyboard layout, but it's pretty easy to edit it to whatever you like (US, AZERTY, etc.) and upload it here. I made vector artwork for several missing tools. There are still some Pixel tools to do (smudge, blur, sharpen). There are layers for the Pixel persona, the Slice persona, and the Text tool. Just make them visible. I've color-coded the modifier keys in a different fashion than Affinity's original coding. Several shortcuts are changed. I'd love it if someone posted the original ones in place. There are symbols for the keys and a palette with global colors. I hope any of you find it useful! Windows Keyboard 4.afdesign
  6. Using Affinity Designer is there a simple keyboard shortcut that can switch the eraser tool between remove pixels and adding pixels back in?
  7. Hi, it is not possible to set Keyboard Shortcuts fot some Tabs in Studio.... eg. Swatches, Color.... Thanks Jindra
  8. I've got a few questions: 1. Is there a way to move the starting point of e.g. a marquee selection while still in the process of selecting? In Photoshop, this works by starting to drag, holding Space and continuing to drag. I use this all the time. (It works for the built-in OS X screenshot facility as well, btw.) 2. When the prefs window is the topmost one and I try to close it using Cmd+W, I always end up closing the document window behind it instead. Is there a reason for this awkward behaviour? 3. [ and ] don't change the brush size for me, although they're set as shortcuts in the prefs window. I assume this is a bug? (I am using a German keyboard, where square brackets are entered through Optn+5 and Optn+6.)
  9. On Windows, ctrl+F4 plays the same role as ctrl+w on all other platforms; namely, it closes a single document/tab in an mdi without closing the app (at least if other documents are open, as contrasted with alt+f4). Since ctrl+f4 isn't mapped to anything else atm, it should be mapped to "close document".
  10. Previously, the shortcuts I had created and saved via .affshortcuts would automatically come up when opening the doc in which I saved (or loaded) them. This no longer is the case. Now I must reload the .affshortcuts each time the doc is reopened, even though I re-saved the shortcuts in this doc. The only change that might have done this is the fact that sometimes I work on this doc on my Mac laptop, but later return to work on it on my MacPro. After reloading (or re-saving) the shortcuts on my MacPro, closing it and bringing it up again, I must reload them each time. Are not the .affshortcuts info saved within the doc?
  11. Hi, I'd like to request the possibility to assign to each shortcut not only the letter or number, but also the modifier. For exemple, now if I press ALT while I'm drawing a Bézier curve, I can move one of the handles freely to create a sharp corner. I'd like to be able to do that by pressing SHIFT instead of ALT. Also, to translate and object in a straight line, I must hold SHIF, what if I want to use CTRL? For a second sub-request, I'd like to ask if it's possible to assign more keys to shortcuts, for exemple, if I'm using whatever tool and I press ESC, it could give me the move tool (I'm weird, I know). But at the moment if I try to assign ESC to something, it just closes the settings window. I'm requesting theese because I used Inkscape a lot, and it has these mechanics I really liked. So to sum it up, I request more freedom about shortcuts assignement. Hope you can implement it, have a nice day
  12. After really getting into using the iPad for editing over the last week, I have come up with a few things that I think would really help improve the speed of general workflow: 1) One powerful tool in the tutorial videos takes a number of steps, and are thus kind of cumbersome - it's creating the non-destructive dodge/burn layer. You have to create a new pixel layer, fill it to 50%, set the blend mode to overlay, then finally you can dodge/burn on that layer. So why not have another option in the "+" menu for layers, where instead of adding a pixel layer you can "add neutral overlay" which does all that in one step. Honestly it's what I thought "Add Fill Layer" would do, I can't figure out what that actually does though. 2) I have a small set of Adjustments/Filters that I use regularly. I know you can change between sections like Noise/Colors/Blurs instead of all filters, but for both Filters and Adjustments it would be great to have a set that was "most used" and give you 6-10 of your most frequently used options. 3) It's great that I can copy groups of adjustments into another images, quickly change the mask under the group, and get an effect I like applied to a part of the image quickly... but I end up doing that with a few different kinds of adjustments, so it would be nice to be able to create some kind of palette with groups of adjustments/filters already set to specific values that I can bring into an image. One practical example is a set of adjustments for skin smoothing, I like to use a combination of Bilateral Blur & Diffuse glow at very low opacities to get close to the skin smoothing I used to get from the Nik ColorEFX 4 filters. Thanks for a great tool, as a data point for you I get all my files in and out through iCloud (which has been working really well so far).
  13. i like to kick AI and starting with AD. AD looks very nice and comes with some features i've wishing for AI. but… is it possible i have to switch every time to the move tool (with shortcut V) when i like to move a shape and switch back to the last tool i'm working with?! in AI i use every time the CMD shortcut to move an object without switching my tool i'm working with. by the path tool i can switch with CMD to the point tool, this is ok to edit the path. but when i like to move the shape i need to weitch again to the move tool. in AI i can draw with the path tool, move single points by holding CMD (like AD) and select the whole shape by clicking CMD ALT to move it with the point tool, when i release CMD and ALT i'm back to the path tool withouth switching any tool. such details are very important for me when i will get the switch from AI to AD. i can learn a new way of this, but it should be a useful way without switching tools anytime.
  14. Hello everyone! In Affinity Designer, there is an option to create a shortcut for jumping up and down a layer. In Photo, this option is not available. Could you include it in a future release? Best wishes, Shu EDIT: This topic seems to be located in "Questions & Feedback". Can somebody move it to "Feature Requests"?
  15. If I want to move an object down or up in the hierarchy of the Layers panel I can use CTRL+[ or ]. But what if I want to move it out of a group/symbol/layer? The only way is to use the "release" action, right? Is there a "release" action keyboard shortcut?
  16. We can customize the main toolbar by long pressing it etc, and then add there some of the basic tools. But how about having a capability to add a filters and effects too there? Or have a own custom sidebar where to add them, so there wouldn't be need to open the list everytime to call something? It would speed up the workflow when user could add a most used filters and effects as buttons and then just tap them to get them added?
  17. I've got another request: Please implement a function to print the keyboard shortcuts. That's especially useful for people who like to customize their keyboard shortcuts. I know I can always look them up in the menu but if we had a possibility to print a list we could simply put the printed list somewhere, e.g. on the wall behind the monitor. That's far more intuitive than having to look the shortcuts up every time we don't remember a specific one. Another solution would be to store the keyboard shortcuts as plain text file, this way we could simply open the file in any text editor and print the list.
  18. I'd like to be able to use the same keyboard shortcut combinations for different tools. For example, since the default combination for "arrange > move to back" requires a key combination that is incompatible with my keyboard layout, I have assigned "CTRL+B" for this action. However, this combination is already in use so it clashes with the text tool (bold). If I assign it anyway, CTRL+B works for some objects (groups, images) and really does send them to back, but majority of objects like the rectangle, circle, triangle, etc don't work. And, once assigned, it also works when I try to use it for bolding the text, but the fact that most objects ignore this makes it unusable. So in a sense, even though these shortcuts seem to be clashing, they really are not. It would be great if Affinity could recognize that. Xara Designer works like that, and I've been using it for years. I think it's a cool feature and probably not too hard to implement.
  19. is there a way to change zoom rate with alt + scroll instead of default ctrl+scroll? I mean, every other design software ever has been using alt+zoom so I'm used to that. I didn't find a way to change that. thanks
  20. Hi, I'm really excited to join the Affinity community! I''ve been a Photoshop user for quite some time and have developed some habits I'd like to replicate in Affinity if possible. I've listed some of them below. Hopefully it's not too overwhelming... - I like the ALT+RMB shortcut so resize the brush in PS (left/right) AND adjust the pressure (up/down). Can it be setup in the preferences? - I can't seem to find a file size in the export Persona: did I miss it? I like the CTRL+Z unlimited undo: is it really unlimited or is there a max number of undo steps? That would be all for now I guess! Thanks a lot for reading until now! Have a nice day! Nicolas
  21. Hello people, some (perhaps stupid) question again. I use the apple keyboard with numeric keypad. It seems that the shortcuts do not work. Is there some method to use it? Greetings from Berlin :)
  22. Hi, in the Develop persona mode, Liquify, the brush size can not be used via the Photo Set shortcuts. It is only possible with "AltGr+ [or]". Please also make the shortcuts for the personas the brush size + - editable. For WIN, AltGr + is not good. Otherwise a user break occurs. Thanks Dieter Or how can I change it?
  23. Hello I like your Shortcuts-Cheat-Sheet for MacOS. Did you adapt it to Windows users ? If yes, I would appreciate to get it, though I am currently working on MacOS Thank you Charles
  24. How do I get all these icon shortcuts on the right side I've enclosed???
  25. AD fam, On many of the AD tutorials I see a click/drag operation used to select an item you want to isolate for copy/paste purposes. My question, is the click/drag done while holding down a keyboard key (i.e., the 'alt' or 'command' key)? When I click/drag over a given area that I'm trying to cut out, I see the light blue square/rectangle cover said area...but when I release my finger from the mouse it seems I'm unable to 'capture' (copy) the selection. I know I'm missing something simple - please have mercy on me. Thanks in advance. -Christo
