Hey guys, I'm making an origami book, I want to make a vector line that show the guide to follow the instruction steps, but I want to make it has circle or other shape with loop instead of just normal bold vector line. How to I do it in Affinity Designer? If I want to make an shape different in the loop like 1 triangle shape after 5 circle shape, can I do it? Please let me know as soon as possible! I have been download the Affinity Designer trial to make my book, just started using it, still a bit aliens to it! If you like to help my book, you can help me by fund me at my fundraiser page to buy this app and Affinity Photo to make my book! Can the shape transform and text transform controls be the same or similar at least? e.g. When selecting a corner point and moving mouse to change the shape/transform size etc: For shapes: Hold shift+cmd, move mouse = For Text: Hold Cmd, move mouse For shapes: Hold shift, move mouse = For Text: Hold nothing, move mouse So when I'm selecting an shape and fixing it, then a text, it gets a bit confusing sometimes. I accidentally use text transform protocol for shape transformation vice versa. It feels disorienting like getting used to working in one program or OS, then trying to do the same thing in another program or OS.

Hi everyone, I'm new on Affinity Designer and I got a problem concerning the path type. ( I've already checked the instructions in the helped menu but that doesn't work for me ). I hope you'll understand me because I work on the french version so that the traduction of the tools may not be exact. Well here's my problem: First I create the curve that will define the curve of my text, then I use the text box tool and I click on the curve I've juste created in order to insert a text that follows the curve. The text insertion zone is in the rectangular zone that defines the curve but the text doesn't follow the curve !! The photo attached shows where my text insertion zone is and how my text appears when I try the make a path type Thank you so much if someone here can help me, I've tried everything and I'd be very grateful ! :) Antonin

I created a simple document with 3 trapezoids (one big and two small). When I try to subtract the small ones from the large one, the angles of the subtracted trapezoids changes so that it takes out the wrong chunks. Trying to convert everything to curves beforehand does not seem to fix the problem. I'm not sure if the subtraction performs some extra calculation that it is suppose to that I just don't know about and perhaps I just need to approach this differently. Is this the case? Or am I doing something else wrong? Or is this some sort of bug? Attached are pictures showing before and after subtraction. Thanks for the time!

Hi! AD was an awesome app and I already bought it yesterday, just hoping that you can add a feature like in Illustrator, the "Recolor Artwork" It's a very helpful and advance feature for us Designers aside from just adjusting using HSL or Recolor adjustment layer. :) And another one, a feature where you can drag the shape holding the space key while using shape tool. :) Last but not the least a "Color Guide" tab where the program gives you diff. shades, tints, values of colour you clicked with an option of Complementary, Analogous, etc. Take your time and more power to AD guys! :) Thanks!

I think in Illustrator, when you select a shape tool - you can perform a key command (I think option+click) to pull up a menu for that shape tool in order to pre-define the shape you want to create. So, let's say you wanted a rounded rectangle at 100px x 100px with a 20px corner-radius, you would be able to set those properties in the options menu and then click a submit type button and it would create the shape on the artboard for you. Currently, (as far as I know) you can only create the shape by clicking and dragging the shape to whatever size on the artboard. I'm assuming there may be an options menu for at least some tools, or a feature request out there for this feature already - but just in case there isn't yet, here you are. Thanks!

I can't figure out how to select an entire shape with a single click. I'll explain... Say I type the letter "e" and convert it to curves. Now I want to select just the hole, but I don't want to have to zoom in and select every node that defines it. How can I click once to select the entire hole? Photoshop and Illustrator both allow me to use the Direct Selection tool (analogous to AD's Node tool), and Option-click to immediately select any shape by clicking anywhere on its outline. In AD I must double-click the shape to go into edit mode (sorry if I'm using the wrong terminology), but clicking anywhere on a shape's outline -- trying all key modifiers -- just adds a new node. I can't figure out how to actually select the entire thing at once. The good news is that, since you're not presently using the key modifiers, bringing this behavior over to AD shouldn't conflict with anything. :)

I would love a Fillet/Chamfer tool to be able to edit nodes (in an interactive mode if possible - dragging the sliders to adjust the values and seeing the changes updated in the scene). Something similar to what this plugin does for PS would be great http://photoshopscripts.wordpress.com/2013/02/03/corner-editor-photoshop-script/ Thanks!
