  1. Hey all, Is this behaviour intentional and if so, why is there no difference between the content types? Scenario: I'm working on a design I started in Designer with multiple artboards. I decided to add some pizzazz with a raster brushes on a designated pixel layer – either in Designer's Pixel Persona or via File → Edit in Photo (either works, behaviour is the same). I add a pixel layer and draw something. I realise that I have made a mistake and want to clear the layer and start again. I usually do this with a short succession of shortcuts: ⌘+A (in the History palette this is called »Raster select all«) to marquee the whole (visible) canvas and backspace or delete/⌦. Expected Result: The (visible) content of the pixel layer is removed. Issue: In my case, for some reason, the shortcut ignores the fact that I am currently working on a pixel layer, and instead of creating a marquee selection of its contents and deleting it, it selects the parent pixel layer itself and deletes it. Now this might not be a big deal if it's a single layer, and you might argue »Why don't I just delete the layer and create a new pixel layer (⌘+⇧+N)?« And I'd say »Sure, that might work for single, regular layers.« The real problem is that this also works (or rather doesn't work) for linked pixel layers. If a single linked layer is deleted, it's not so easy to fix afterwards and involves copying, pasting, positioning if you've placed them in several different groups, shapes and so on – a bit of a PIA. I also considered »Invert Pixel Selection« (Select → Invert Pixel Selection or ⌘+⇧+I) as a different approach, as this works with photo documents. But to no avail. But I've noticed that this behaviour works for new documents, so I'm not sure why it doesn't work for my existing document. Any help with this? Am I doing something wrong? Is the document somehow corrupt? I’ve attached my document, feel free to try the scenario, try to select the whole pixel layer content and delete it with the designated shortcuts while maintaining the linked layer/s itself. 2. Ctrl-A doesn't work in the corner-tool to select all nodes. Ctrl-A does work in the node tool and on some on other places in the software. Ctrl-A here to select all nodes would speed up the proces a lot, 'cause than we don't need to zoom out when working in high detail, just to select all nodes.
  3. Hello, I’m wondering if there is a way to ‘select all’ on Affinity Designer IPad. When working with many layers (over 50), is there a way to ‘select all’ or quickly select without having to select individually? I am able to use the move tool to ‘drag select’ over ungrouped layers but if the layers are in groups it only selects the group not the individual layers. Any help would great Thanks
  4. Affinity Publisher beta 1.7.0.140 under Mac OS 10.14, crashed with message quit unnexpectedly, after working in a master page, selecting all (cmd+A) and tapping the delete key.
  5. It woulds be great to have a Select All command that only applies to the currently active page/artboard. Thanks for all you do.
  6. I would like Select All (Ctrl + A) to not select all. Instead I would like it to select everything in an Artboard. Selecting everything in the world would require an extra press of A. Personally I would like to see the option of turning on Ctrl + A selecting a layer, then each press of A selecting the parent layer.
  7. Hi, is there a way to select all object only on selected canvas? It selects all the objects of all artboards (quite useless). I know i can select only the artboard passing the mouse around the artboard, but the select all should be more precise, (if selected only the artboard objects). A
  8. I was curious, why this is not implemented yet? I think this is a standard functionallity :)
  9. Would be very beneficial to have more granularity in the Select All command. Perhaps the command can have 3 options: 1. Select All Objects on Current Artboard (Cmd + A) 2. Select All Objects on All Artboards (Cmd + Shift + A) 3. Select All Objects on Pasteboard / not on any Artboard (Cmd + Optn + A)
  10. Hey guys, on the latest beta, when I have multiple Art-boards with multiple objects, the following behavior happens, which feels incorrect: When I Selct All (Cmd + A), AD selects the multiple artboards, and not the objects inside the art-boards. This happens whether I have an object selected in an art-board, no objects selected on any art-board, or I if click on a specific art-board... My preference would be to have AD enable a current art-board once the user clicks on any object in the art-board or on the art-board itself. The only time it should select all art-boards when the Move tool (not the Art-board tool) is selected is when the user clicks on the paste-board (the empty area around the art-boards, if my memory of Affinity terminology serves me right...) Thanks for your consideration. The apps are really shaping up nicely... keep u the excellent work!
