Hi all, I am loving this software and kicking myself for wasting so much time and money with Photoshop; however, I need to print something at someone else's house - so I need to email them the files I have created - and for the first one I did I was able to create a .jpg and email just fine - but now, for the life of me, I can't remember how I did it. I know this sounds so stupid - but I have a lot of medical problems hence the memory issue. Can anyone walk we through were to find the steps or provide them to me? Thank you kindly, Katie -
I’m working in the iPad version. IOS 14.0.1 Designer v1.8.6.1 I’m finding that saving a file from within the design doesn’t always work. I have to jump out of the design to the gallery view and SAVE there. Very annoying and distressing to find that SAVE is unreliable.

I have just updated to iPadOS15 and now I cannot save to OneDrive. Have seen a similar issue in the photo forum too. I am using AD version 1.10.5, iPad Air 2020.

Hi, The save dialog box default to the last folder you saved a file to instead of the last folder you saved a file to OR the folder of the last opened file. This may seem a minor issue but it causes a lot of mistakes. Is there any chances you’ll fix this quickly ? Pretty please ? -
Hi, I tried to find solution but couldnt. For other tools you can go to Edit > Defaults > Save - for selection tool it doesnt work I want to have default settings for Refine - not have to manually change it each time and switch off that weird "matte edges" option (who even uses that) Is there a way to have default setting for Refine Selection tool? Same as per my photo?

Hi, as I am not a native English speaker I apologize upfront for spelling mistakes and bad grammar. Yesterday I downloaded the Beta of Publisher which is Version 1.7.0.305 for MacOS. I then placed a pdf to use some of the included elements. Now I can not save the publisher file, only export to the several options publisher has. Because I might change something in the document later on that is a bummer. I guess I am currently working on the imported pdf. Is there a way to toggle some kind of setting to save my work? As I am new to layout in general and worked with inDesign only a hand full of times before, I need your help. Currently there are two tabs in publisher, one unknown which I can save and one embedded, which I can not save and in which I (probably mistakenly) did all of my changes. The changes happen to be done in the unknown tab as well, but objects are not editable as there are only the master layer and the one layer with the pdfs name on top. Hi I’m fairly new to processing on the iPad and am wondering if anybody can tell me how I can automatically keep the original filename when exporting my work from .RAW format to .afphoto and .JPG formats. i want to be able to keep the camera filename so I can cross reference my processed work to original camera file, and sometimes re-visit my processing. i only get the “Untitled.jpg” option and its an absolute pain having to look up the original file name, type in and change it. Hello friends, I placed a layered APh file into another file that's a comp. I edited the embedded APh file several times, so my original embedded doc as saved on disk is outdated. I now want to save out the embedded file as it's own file back to disk. When I go to edit the embedded document, Save As… is grayed out. What's the best way to save my file back to disk? -
Hallo Team, ich konnte mit meinem iPAD bisher immer eine Kopie auf Onedrive speichern. Seit einiger Zeit ist Onedrive resistent und weigert sich beständig. Bei einigen anderen App´s bzw. Clouds habe ich mich ab- und wieder angemeldet, dann hat´s getan. Manchmal hilft auch ein und ausschalten aber das kann´s ja nicht bringen. Wer hat da eine kluge Idee? Danke Frank Pauli

I make some projects on Affinity Designer and worked very well. Now i can't save or export in any format and after try save or export i can't select any layer of the project like the archive is "corrupted" or something. When i try to export, the archive is not created and any massage of error show on screen. I tried to restart the PC and Reinstall the program but nothing seems to solve this problem...

Hi I'm using windows 10 and Affinity Photo 1.9.2.1035 and having problem trying to "Save As" or Export as a Jpeg, PSD or Tiff. Nothing is saving my work to my hard drive. Suggestions please. Thanks Andrew -
When trying to save my file on Windows 10 (last affinity version 1.9.2), the program says that saving has failed because it has no access to the file any more. Really strange, since I am in the opened file while trying to save it. I have to close Affinity Publisher, open it again, write 1 word, save, close the program, open it again, write another word, etc. - everything that goes beyond 1 word will simply crash the program. What can I do to fix this? Everything worked quite well for 1 month, but since 1 week it keeps crashing on all kinds of different activities. Occasionally it says that it lost the connection to the image files in the ressource manager. Thanks for your help.

This is my first post I'm new to this forum. Ive tried and looked for hours to find out how to save all my adjustment layers to Preset(s). From my understanding you have to save each layer and label it. For example, adjusting and then saving the Vibrance as a preset and naming it. After saving each layer preset on my finished picture and labeling them, I opened up another photo, which I want to have the exact same adjustments. I clicked on all the custom layer adjustment presets I just made but the picture doesn't turn out the same in the end? Even though when I click on each preset (in the new photo that I want to look like the previous) it says its tweaked the same as the one I saved, but the photo still looks drastically different? Do all NOT adjustments transfer over? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to do this? (and im not talking about the background people photoshopped out, im aware of that) THANK YOU for reading this, this is so frustrating and it makes me want to switch back to Lightroom. (the picture without people is the look i want, the picture with people is what happens when i click on all the saved presets for the finished picture)

Hello everyone, I have become big fan of AP and I think this is a perfect software for photographers on budget with great features and flexibility. I only recently started using AP (actually only recently started photography altogether). My workflow is probably not the best but it is what I have settled on. I do raw processing on a different software and then use AP on the exported tif file. I was really excited about the linked file feature mainly due to the potential of decreasing the file sizes of afphoto . I tried with a tif file and few simple curves and still the file size was 215 MB or so. Just to test, I deleted every image layer and just left the curve layers and the file size actually increased. I removed even the curve layers and saved a empty file which ended up being roughly 200 MB. I am not sure what is being saved when there is no layer to save such that the file size ended up this large. Am I missing nay settings (Save history is not enabled). Thank you for your help. -
Hello, I am new to Affinity Photo. I am trying to save a .afphoto document in .PSD format. It does successfully export the file but for some reason only the background layer gets deleted. When I open the .PSD file again in Affinity Photo the background layer is not visible. Can someone help me with this? Also, I've made the switch to Affinity Photo recently and I've been loving it. Thank you. -
Hi! Is there anyway I can save a custom page preset as a template? For example, Facebook Page Cover template, Instagram Post template, Business Cards template, etc. with different sizes for each template. I'm currently using Affinity Designer desktop. I've tried to find answers and had no luck. Did find this but it did not have the solution: Please let me know - this would be such a huge help! -
Hello, I have question regarding Saving for afphoto files used in Affinity Photo Workbook. I have dowloaded some source files. If I made some changes, I want to save it, but the posssibility "Save" or "Save as" are grey. Is it the source somehow locked (for example the lumsdale_falls.afphoto). BR Vit Richter -
I'm having trouble figuring out how to export a JPEG for print. The document is set to print and is 300 dpi, however, when I save, the image is 72 dpi. I don't see an option in the save settings (attached). -
I get that I have to save my edited photos back to camera roll by export-share-save image, but somewhere along the line I’ve lost exif data, most importantly date and time taken. This means when I save to my cloud storage it’s out of date order with my other images. Surely there’s a solution for this but I can’t find one despite the searching. If I could save directly from affinity to amazon photos it might not happen but there’s no way to do that either afaik.

I'm new to Infinity although I used to use Serif Page Plus from the very first version years ago. Great to find a suite of one-time purchase design and editing programs - I've bought all three - that I can use on my new MacBook Pro. Although searching through Help and the forum, I am having trouble finding out how to SAVE a Batch Process set of instructions. Do I really have to set it up from scratch each time I want to run it? Also I can't seem to reduce the size of a mix of landscape and portrait photos without one dimension being squashed - I do have the A for Aspect ticked and have tried putting the same number in each of the W and H windows. I have also tried W/2 and H/2 as suggested in the boxes which didn't work for me and also 50%. Please can you tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong?

when working on a large file, as the one in the Workbook, Mother of Millions, I had to save the image down and carry on working the day after. When I came back to my image the Source Panel was empty. I'd lost all the images. I couldn't find any way to load them back in without importing every one of the 41 initial photos and clicking the Add Global Source button to bring each one back to the list. This is very time consuming and seems a little stupid really. I could find nothing in the documentation for repopulating the source panel. I tried saving history with document but that didn't help either. Is this an oversight or have I missed something? If it's not my error perhaps something needs adding to accommodate this facility?

I have a deadline tonight but Publisher keeps crashing. Always when I try to save but also occasionally (on auto save?) not sure. file previously worked and saving / modifying worked fine

I can't get Designer to save my files in any folder containing my work. Every time I click on SAVE AS, name the file, and select a location, I get the warning: "Save failed because you do not have permission to create a file in that location." We're even talking about my Documents folder. Why would I not have permission to save files in my Documents folder? Just to reassure myself, I did a Get-Info on the Document folder and, for sure, I have the permission to Read and Write to that location. Also, I can't open a .jpg created by Photo because Designer doesn't recognize the file type. Again, this is the same .jpg that caused Photo to freeze after creating and saving it. Can someone tell my what may be happening here? With freezes and failures to save and open files, I haven't been able to work for days.
