  1. Hi I want to build an svg graphic that I can use like an image map. So I wanted to make some of the paths clickable links eg: <a xlink:href="" > <path id="campania" d="M564.55 581.71l-2.24-0.73 0.82-3.38 -0.66-3.4 -5.95-10.98 -3.58-2.48 -0.52-3.53 -2.05-3.73 -7.48-8.95 -2.91-2.67 4.28-1.26 1.04-2.15 2.1-0.94 1.53-1.42 0.83-7.98 -1.12-3.07 2.53-0.84 3.17-2.61 1.44-0.48 1.99 1.28 3.14 5.2 2.38 0.72 3.43 0.04 0.7-0.8 -0.28-2.23 -1.93-2.49 2.81-3.92 3.07 0.38 4.41-0.37 3.6 0.97 4.39 2.42 7.89 2.82 2.16 0.26 2.65 2.95 4.5 0.1 2.51 1.73 5.46-2.99 6.68-0.61 1.48-1.15 0.97-1.98 3.54 1.71 7.59-2.35 5.01-2.66 3.63 1.54 1.94 2.26 1.77 0.99 0.33 2.89 -2.66 2.96 0.77 2.86 3.95 2 1.51 3.14 3.12-1.15 4.35 2.04 1.41 1.84 -1.59 1 0.45 1.97 -3.61 3.52 0.1 1.61 3.98 2.33 2.03 2.2 7.78 0.58 1.74-0.73 3.67 2.34 7.63 2.13 1.33 3.57 -3.02 6.78 -4.74 2.69 -7.61 0.25 -1.02 2.45 0.37 2.85 -1.5 2.41 1.7 1.44 0.42 5.46 1.01 2.24 3.83 3.6 3.82 1.47 -0.2 1.14 -2.58 2.27 -0.31 1.9 0.92 0.79 2.53 0.77 1.9 1.79 1.62 3.9 -0.11 3.2 1.08 1.39 1.92 1.2 1.21 2.17 2.35 0.92 2.8 2.79 2.24 0.42 0.83 0.65 1.12 5.37 5.2 4.49 0.23 1.87 -0.94 1.97 -4.08 2.74 -1.99 2.12 -0.22 3.22 -3.31 4.55 0.15 0.93 0.89 0.61 -0.9 1 -0.9-0.7 -0.9-1.89 -0.98 0.38 -5.76-0.38 -2.03 0.72 -6.38 5.85 -1.31 0.39 -1.99-0.27 -4.72-2.77 -3.71 0.41 1.32-1.44 -1.25-2.42 -2.33-2.41 -3.29-1.7 -4.69-4.46 -1.4-0.57 -4.77 0.53 -6.55-5.49 -3.53-0.91 -0.24-1.12 1.77-2.26 0.62-2.06 -0.5-2.24 2.23-0.93 1.25-1.32 0.85-3.52 -1.07-3.39 -6.58-12.67 -2.12-3.13 -3.98-4.16 -2.22-1.58 -2.49-0.6 -2.53 0.93 -2.16 1.55 -5.78 0.28 -3.22 2.52 -1.87 0.34 -4.58-1.64 -4.91 1.56 -5.74 3.7 -0.58-0.76 -0.12-1.65 0.63-1.47 3.61-1.07 0.67-1.32 5.69-4.34 0.78-1.16 -0.36-1.94 -1.11-1.45 -2.81-1.74 -2.58-0.65 -7.46-6.24 -5.48 0.68 -1.68 2.7 -1.29 0.07 -5.27-2.59 -2.39-0.17 -0.78 1.24 0.4 2.62 -0.05-0.02ZM555.47 588.61l-0.92 0.79 -1.86-0.18 -2.16 0.85 -2.68-1.55 1.35-2.53 -0.2-1.16 0.9 0 5.79 2.21 -0.23 1.58 0.01-0.01Z" class="s1"/></a> Only AFD won't import them (it will import the paths that I haven't tried to make clickable). The graphic works OK in Safari and I tried running it through the w3c validator and it seems to validate OK (more or less). Thanks. (I hope it doesn't seem like I'm always complaining, but I'm assuming that you want to know about issues so you can make AFD even better than it already is).
  2. EDIT: Sorry I forgot to check the answer to my question in the questions section. I'd have deleted this thread but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. At the moment if I import a file with a bunch of svg shapes Affinity converts these to paths. It would be really handy to be able to preserve these as svg shapes. For example if I have a bunch of map markers that look like this: <circle cx="168.5" cy="581.2" id="Alghero marker" r="3" class="style0"/> <g id="Algherolabel" transform="translate(0,0)" x="173.5" y="581.2"> <text id="Alghero name" x="173.5" y="581.2" class="style1">Alghero</text> </g> I can easily change the radius of the marker from 3 to 2 by using search and replace in a text editor (I can't see any way to do the same thing with multiple paths - but maybe that's my ignorance). Webcode and Sketch do this (although in other respects I much prefer Affinity). Thanks.
  3. Hi I've just imported an svg file, copied and pasted it into another, did some resizing, changed the layer names, and then exported the combined document (a map with place names) to svg. I ended up with circles being converted into paths. To give one example: <circle cx="210.4" cy="230.6" id="Genova (w9) marker" r="3" class="style0"/> <g id="Genova (w9) label" transform="translate(0,0)" x="215.4" y="230.6"> <text id="Genova (w9) name" x="215.4" y="230.6" class="style1">Genova </text></g> was converted to: <g id="Genova marker"> <path d="M215.887,281.212C217.745,281.212 219.251,282.719 219.251,284.577C219.251,286.435 217.745,287.942 215.887,287.942C214.028,287.942 212.522,286.435 212.522,284.577C212.522,282.719 214.028,281.212 215.887,281.212Z" style="fill:black;fill-opacity:0;stroke-width:1.12px;stroke:black;"/> </g> <g id="Genova name"> <text x="221.494px" y="284.577px" style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:11.2154px;fill:black;">Genov<tspan x="257.112px 263.848px ">a </tspan></text> <text x="221.494px" y="295.792px" style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:11.2154px;fill:black;"> </text> </g> Is there a way I can get it to retain the circles as circles so that I can more easily change the radius? Thanks.
  4. Hi. Is there a way to edit imported sag files? I made some sine curves in "Grapher" and exportet to PDF. I tried to convert them to curves, which did nothing. Same with SVG files. I want to edit them, so that the sine curves do not overlap the whole graphic. I want to crop it. The vector crop tool is just a rectangle, which does not work for me. You can see in the Screenshot, the yellow curves overlap. I want them to be just inside the speech bubble. Anyone knows how to do this? A just can't use boolean operations like substract, ect. They are greyed out.

    SVG import

Hi I had a couple of problems importing an svg file with the CSS statements in the head of the document - AD correctly interpreted the global styles, but seems to have ignored a style attached to one particular element; - I got the error message "The following files are missing: "Open Sans", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" in response to a CSS statement about text labels. I'm uploading my file so you can tell whether I've got something wrong. I appreciate this may be more about features that AFD doesn't yet have. Thanks
  6. Hi Thanks again for the improvements to the SVG export in the Beta. Would it be possible to have the option to group CSS statements at the head of the SVG document (along the lines of what CSS Optimiser does)? Thanks.
  7. OK, so one of the first things I do when looking at a new piece of software is see if it is "truly" compatible with Adobe illustrator. That is, it can not only import but export a usable file. Just about every software I have used cannot export gradients without breaking down each color into little bands or rasterizing it. Xara Extreme is the only one I have found thats works well, though they only have a PC version. It seems Affinity Designer is one that does NOT work will with exporting eps or svg files with gradients. Although it says that it can, and there is even a check box that allows files to be editable as a vector file, if there is any object overlapping, if there is a gradient, forget it. In fact, I created a box with a single color and one curve, exported as a eps, and it converted it to a bitmap. (see attached). One of the second things I do is see if I can draw a straight line at a specific angle, or at a angle specified in snap mode. I didn't find that feature yet. Anyone? I create stock illustrations and these stock sites insist on editable EPS version 10 files, no bitmaps objects. I'm think I did not find my replacement for Illustrator. ___ This make this software totally unusable for me. SO, I was hoping that someone could prove me wrong and show me how this will work.
  8. Just purchased AD and spent some time test-driving it -- feels nice, intuitive UI. Personally, I was very interested in SVG export for web work and I was happy to see it under the supported formats. Having done a quick test, it certainly worked but I had to edit the SVG file afterwords to get it working 'responsively' (sized via CSS, using percentages). Currently, the SVG is exported with its size determined by the 'width' and 'height' attributes. For example, an object defined as 50x50px object will have width="50" height="50" baked in. By replacing these attributes with viewBox="0 0 50 50", the size can now can be controlled using CSS, e.g., svg { width:100%; } It's an easy manual fix but it would be great to have the option setting available during export..
  9. Hi Anybody can posdkazat as can be exported, for example, in the format and get svg file without the element <image>? that I get when I export: <?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?> <!DOCTYPE svg SVG viewBox

Dear developers, Is it possible to add the viewBox tag to SVG export? It could echo the width and height tags for instance (that would be relatively easy I think). I appreciate the SVG output of Designer: it is among the cleanest I have seen.
  11. A box of 50 mm x 50 mm in Designer will be 208,333 mm x 208,333 mm in a svg file. (print-ready 300dpi - only no pixels) Remco
  12. Hi I don't know if this is a question or a feature request. I'm working on a map for a website, and what I'd like to do is use CSS to control the fill colour for a particular region. So I want to tinker with the svg in a text editor. The only problem is the layer names aren't preserved when I export to svg. Am I missing something? Is there a way to preserve them?
  13. Hallo Affinity Team, I'm looking for an alternative to Illustrator and have tried out Affinity. Unfortunately, I'm rather disappointed with the SVG Export in Affinity. Some layers in my vector graphics are coded as inline PNGs (data:image/png;base64). It would also be nice if the layer names were also exported in the SVG, so that I can target them in the code later. Thanks, Gary
  14. When you export an SVG, whole document gets exported. An option to export only the image (shapes), without empty portions of background page would be very nice.
  15. As suggested in another post, here's a feature request. In Export Persona, I can export slices to PNG, TIFF, etc. But not SVG. Could support for exporting slices to SVG be added? This would be very useful for me! Thanks, Graham
  16. The question is in the title... is PDF / SVG export functionality fully implemented? I ask because in my test cases I'm seeing gradients, and shapes with effects getting clipped + rasterized rather then being fully editable gradients + effects. Ideally any effects should use SVG filters when exported. This was always a problem I had with DrawPlus. I often had to export out at really high DPI to remove any gradient dithering, and import it into Illustrator where I vectorized the rasterized portions. The results I'm getting right now are disappointing. Though the PNG export from a large vector files is incredibly fast, and clean. Nice work there.
