Hi all, I am currently in the process of making my first computer game as part of my university degree. I am using Affinity Designer for PC in conjunction with Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), and I am having trouble with quality loss when exporting the .afdesign file to PNG, and thus importing the PNG file into Unreal Engine 4. I originally created my main character, "blob", as 64x64 pixels, as this is generally the size of a tile in UE4. However when exporting it to PNG the loss of quality is huge, as seen on the left of the below image. I'm also having the same issue with the tiles and tilesets I've been working on. To compare, I created my "blob" in 4000x4000 pixels, and scaled it down to 0.02% in UE4 (as seen on the right) and it looks exactly how I want it to look. UE4 doesn't seem to support SVG, and JPEG doesn't support transparency. Can anybody advise me on how to export the 64x64 file to PNG without rasterizing and losing the quality? The same goes for my tiles and tileset (the tiles are currently 128x128 but I might need them to be smaller). Many thanks

Designer should tell me which part will be rasterized. I almost always choose "rasterize not supported areas" but I just want to have more information than just saying "some areas will be rasterized". I often come in a situation where it is just not clear why rasterization happens and giving more information will help tracking down those areas which will get rasterized for whatever reason. Just a little "show more" button which leads to the appropriate information in the export menu directly under "some areas will get rasterized" would help.

Is there any way to choose the DPI used for rasterization in AD? I am working on a large, multi-artboard document and want to rasterize some vector art to reduce the file size of the PDF I'll eventually export. But I still want the document's viewers to be able to zoom in and inspect the art at a reasonably crisp resolution. Changing the DPI of the document doesn't seem to work, as it doesn't rescale my artboards. How can I fix this? Thanks!

If I create a text block and give it a drop shadow that text block will get rasterized if I export the file to PDF. That reduces the quality of the PDF significantly (no sharp edges, text not selectable). Is that normal or will that change in a later version of Affinity Designer? Also shapes with certain gradients (elliptical, conical) get rasterized without a vector clipping path. That means the shape no longer has a sharp edge. Will that change? Thank you! :) Rasterization.afdesign Rasterization.pdf

It would be great to be able to paste vector graphics from iWork into Affinity Designer. Right now the graphics is rasterized on the way in. See discussion in this thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/1540-pie-chart-support/
