Lacking the ability to use right-to-left paragraphs for type, renders this wonderful software almost useless to a quite a large chunk or prospect users. Is it really so costly to develop this ability? After all, language is what we use to communicate—what other purpose does this software have if not to communicate words and visual messages? So far it's the only issue that prevents me from purchasing the app...

I am currently attempting to move from Adobe programs to Affinity Designer and Photo, since they are more affordable and in most cases do the job easier and/or faster. I have noticed that I cannot write any RTL (right-to-left language) text. As I am working in the Middle East, this is essential for my job and unfortunately means I still have to make use of Adobe software until this is supported.

Hello, I was very happy to know that affinity is available in window (even if it is just beta for now). However, as an Arabic person I found that Affinity Designer doesn't support RTL or Arabic text. I was very happy to share the news about the beta version of windows, but most of Arab Designers will need RTL support. Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is huge and having RTL support in your product will be fascinating and many will abandon Adobe products for sure because of the lower price with high technology Affinity support. We just need support for adding text in Arabic not the interface in Arabic. I will just use tool for now till you support RTL http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Home-Education/Arabic-Text-Reverser.shtml If you can add such tool in the program it self till you support RTL, this will be a very great thing Thank you

Hello, Arabic text (and other RTL text such as Hebrew) is not rendered correctly. It is rendered 'back to front'. Here is an example picture. The correct rendering is shown in the LibreOffice window. It is also correct in the Affinity "Layer" panel. On the canvas itself, it is back to front.

I have some design assignments that will use mixed text with English and languages that use Right-to-Left scripts. Unless I'm mistaken, I can't switch directions within a Text Frame. This necessitates either layering in text in post (using another program), or laboriously breaking the text into multiple sections and aligning the words manually. Having the ability to switch directions midstream would be very helpful!
