Hi there! When changing fonts without using styles I often encounter problems: The context menu doesn't update once I continue editing. Please have a look at the video. The problem is not limited to Arial - and it occurs with new and old documents. Additionally the drop-down-menu for the font seems to be hidden by the master/pages panel one in a while. Is it possible to do drop shadows of text in Publisher? I select the text layer and fx but can only blur the text. -
Dual language flipped and rotated publication The finished publication would function like this: Read one language from one side (e.g. pages 1 - 10) and then flip the publication over, rotate it and read the publication in the second language. The last pages of both languages (pages 10 and 10) would meet in the middle - upside down to each other. This is a must for dual language brochures, company profiles, etc. if you don't want to include both languages on the same page. AFAIK, InDesign doesn't have this and requires an onerous InDesign to Acrobat-linked workflow. Huge fan of Photo and Designer and using Publisher beta now. -
Hey everyone! When opening Document, Resource Manager, selecting all files and setting them to linked, my document will still be at 109,3MB file size. In fact, before linking the unlinked images, the file had 108MB. So linking even increases file size by a small amount. The Resource Manager will show them as linked and Publisher will report errors when renaming a file. It just doesn't decrease file size. And even when Publisher cannot fint a file, it is still being displayed, instead of an error frame, which I would expect. Is this a known issue? It seems it shouldn't be since there is a tutorial on the website for this. I am using High Sierra. Best wishes, Shu -
When copying in png images the image is appearing with a black background. To resolve this I have to save the image and then import it as an image. It would be great if you could just copy in a PNG from the web or another source. Thanks Clyall90

Hello, In a file which worked perfectly yesterday I have today some png pictures who appear blurred in the software and also when I export. Any idea of why ? Thank you for your help (I'm French sorry if my english is not perfect)

Hi everyone! I’m relatively new to Publisher and I am pretty happy that it functions somewhat similar to InDesign, which I’m used to especially the pre-CC versions. So I've been trying to tweak the look of my title below that is in highlighted in green below. Is there any way to customize the highlight’s position in relation to the text currently? I haven’t found any such options or am I missing something? Any help is highly appreciated! Thanks all

¡Hola a todos! Tengo algunas dudas sobre el interlineado que M.Word interpreta con respecto a Affinity Publisher. Estos días he estado pasando algunos textos y he notado que cuando paso un texto a Afinidad, si coloco el interlineado doble, ocupa menos espacio que en Word. Pero el error lo he notado en todos los tipos de interlineado. Incluso en la intercalación simple es mucho más estrecho que en el editor de texto. ¿Tienes algún tipo de solución? He estado leyendo un hilo en caso de que viera alguna solución. Muchas gracias por la ayuda. -
I get an error when I export a document to pdf (for print) with linked Designer files. Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6.

Hello, I have a question regarding the afpub file size. I tried to include a afdesign document into the afpub (set as linked in the File Manager), but after saving the afpub file is still huge. Is the linked file always saved with the document? Is there any way how to exclude linked files from saving and shrink the afpub file size? Thanks Petr -
I cut and paste some symbols from Affinity Designer into Affinity Publisher, but could not detach them in Affinity Publisher. Does anyone know if the Symbols studio is going to be included with Affinity Publisher?

Windows 10 Home 1809, Publisher 1.7.0.249. Apologies for the non-specific title of the post but I couldn't think of anything more precise that covers everything. Have a look at the attached GIF and you will see: * The row headers are not aligned with the rows; * The later row headers are 'greyed out' when the row is not selected; * The later row headers don't have the 'context arrow' for the drop-down menu; * The column headers are not aligned with the columns; * The column header dividers, when dragged, do some very strange things. (Apologies for some of the mistaken mouse movements, it's sometimes very difficult to get the cursor exactly where you want to get the correct pointer. Also, ignore the shear, I didn't mean to do that - difficulty getting the correct pointer.) I've attached the document for testing. weird-table-stuff.afpub

Still learning Affinity Publisher - great program for my needs and will be nearly perfect once the photo & design persona are added. This is my current (2nd?) edition of a photo-portfolio eBook. It's the result of my search for a better way to publish PDF eBooks.

After the update to Publisher version 1.7.0.292 there are problems when exchanging images (Replace Image - Button). The newly inserted image is displayed "overexposed". The new image can only be resolved by deleting the old image and then reinserting the new image. Klaus -
Hi there, I can't seem to find an existing discussion on this problem, so please excuse me if I'm duplicating a question. I have a fairly long document (100 pages) in double spread and if (a) try to move a page (b) try to delete a page (c) try to add a page - adding and subtracting doubles works fine. Also, it will crash if I attempt to turn the double spread back to single. I have tried all kinds of things, but to no avail. Im now working with 1.7.0.292, but this problem has not yet been resolved. Thanks in advance -

hello guys! first of all: english is not my native language so i hope i can explain myself. i usually use indesign at work but hopefully i can switch to the complete affinity suite. he main work i do are magazine layouts, print ads and so on. therefore i use the textframe tool quite a bit! so it comes that i recognized some strange settings between publisher and indesign. let me explain this. i draw a textframe with a filler text in the same font in publisher and indesign but publisher has some different line spacing settings: Some common InDesign Examples: font size 8pt - line space 9,6pt font size 10pt - line space 12pt font size 12pt - line space 14,4pt but publisher has these settings: font size 8pt - line space 8,3pt font size 10pt - line space 10,4pt font size 12pt - line space 12,5pt the publisher settings are too close for each line. why are these settings used? can i change these odd behavior so that the standard line spacing settings are used? ah and one small or even big bug (i think): i cant select characters or even sentences with my cursor. it is either all or nothing that i can select. even with my arrow keys! its the start of an paragraph or the end of it.... maybe you have some advice for me handling these kind of problems! I am looking for a way to set the colour name automatically based on colour value in Affinity Designer. When you change a colour value in a Indesign document, it automatically changes the colour name accordingly within the swatches window. It's a huge timesaver. When you add a colour to the swatches panel, Affinity applies the colour value name. However when I change a existing colour within the swatches panel, it shows the previously colour value. It looks like I have to manually change the colour value. How can I do that in Affinity Designer or Affinity Publisher?

Hi there, I'm currently making a booklet for work and I'm struggling to get the page ordering correct for it to print as a booklet. It's a 25 page document and the pages were made in the correct order however when I go to print as a booklet (flip short sides, A4 paper) my back page ends up being covered by a blank sheet which is half of the second page and then my back page is in facing to the last page. I'll add images if it helps because I'm atrocious when it comes to explaining things. Thank you

1) In the Dock on Mac, the shape of Publisher-app is not same as other two Affinity-apps. Why? 2) I miss the palette: "Resource manager" to manage images. Now we have to click with mouse: [menu] Document / Resource Manager… too cumbersome.

Hi there! I'm not sure whether this is a general bug or limited to the computers at our office: Whenever I try to undock the paragraph panel Publisher crashes without notification and has to be killed via the Windows task manager. Interestingly it does not crash if I try to undock any other panel (e.g. character or layer panel). Additionally it only happens on Win-10-machines in our office. All Win-8.1-machines are not affected. Initially we blamed the graphics driver, but after having removed the drivers completely and installed them afresh, we come to the conclusion that Publisher might be the cause as the problem persists. The problem is not limited to a specific document but happens with all existing and new documents. Windows 10 (10.0.17134), 64 Bit Nvidia GeForce 940MX (driver version 25.21.14.1935) Best, Volker

Hey, I would like to know if is there any option on Affinity Publisher to change the name of the PDF on tab. For example, when we open the exported PDF in Google Chrome it has a name on Tab ("paper_taxis"), but if we open on Adobe Acrobat it shows the pdf name on tab ("Paper_BusTickets_PT_compressed"). We need to have a way to change that name. Is there any option to do that ? Waiting for your feedback. Best regards, Nádia Nair

Hi there! I've just redone a brochure in Affinity Publisher originally produced at my agency using Indesign. The process of creating the layout was smooth, but the export to PDF/X3 wasn't: Either parts of the text got rasterized or some images were missing in the exported PDF. When using the preset "Export (web)" some headlines and parts of the copy text got rasterized without any apparent reason (see page 10 + 11, no fx, fonts embedded). If exported to web with the option "don't raster anything" set the same headlines and copy text got exported just fine as vectors - but some images were missing afterwards (afphoto format).
