  1. Hello Affinity, I would like to give you my money NOW. I really don't want to pay Sketch or Figma or inVision or Adobe XD or Framer X or Protopie or Webflow or UX Pin. I would love to buy a software from Affinity that enables the prototyping feature. Maybe a merge between Personas with added plugin to buy. OR maybe call the software Affinity Prototype or Affinity Interactive or Affinity Hybrid. I have been creating lots of Websites and User Interfaces, but I can't quickly prototype it to get my idea across. I have been working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of 50 designers/developers/business analysts. And when it's time for me to pitch I have to manually go into my Visual Studio Code Editor and create it from scratch using CSS and JavaScript. Still waiting for release date, Thank you
  2. Is Publisher going up against newish tools like Sketch and Adobe XD? In many ways those tools are layout software so it seems like similar to what Publisher would do. I have spent far less time with Publisher then I have with the other Affinity tools so it's hard for me to know how much it competes with prototyping. What I have seen so far it looks like it is more of a competitor to ID and Quark.
  3. First of all I wanted to say thank you for your amazing products. After trying your apps I can no longer use other design apps. It would be very cool to have another application in the Serif StudioLink specifically for design and prototyping. Affiinty Designer is so cool but it has no function for prototyping and animation. Thanks for attention)
  4. Hi! I created an feature request to import from Affinity Designer to the Framer. It'd be so great. Who cares about this support pls this post! https://framer.canny.io/feature-requests/p/affinity-designer-import I believe that at least someone can import Affinity Designer source file. And we can fully prototype our UI:) Thanks for attention and i wish you a wonderful day<3
  5. Hi! Do You have any plan to made prototyping capability? It will be Greate! Because There are not tool that cat import file from Affinity app. Only Figma, Sketch, Adobe Xd. But i love Affinity Designer and have some trouble with animate my design. I export all like images and after animated it in Principle. It's wrong way , i think. If affinity designer can do transition between artboard it will be super cool! Just transition like in Adobe xd function Auto- animate. Figma - smartAnimation. I understand that Affinity Designer aim on Illustration but it so cool tool for Ui/ux design. Thanks for attention & wish your a nice day! I will be glad to see you on my dribbble: https://dribbble.com/johnmevis
  6. Hello Affinity, I was wondering if you guys are going to include a Prototyping Software for UX. I have purchased Affinity Designer and I loved it. I just wanted to know whether you guys are planning to add Prototyping Persona or maybe lunching a Prototyping software for UX since the User Experience industry is booming. I have created this UI in Affinity Designer and I would want to add interactivity to it. Like add transition effects, design overlays, clickable buttons to go from one artwork to another and record the whole process and render it as a video for user testing. I have also did a mini project and attached it in this form so it could give you guys an idea. Thank you
  7. Hello Fellow Designers, I would like to share my latest work with you. Last week I created an iOS 13 app with Affinity Designer and Apple's latest user interface framework, SwiftUI. The application itself is a part of my new SwiftUI Course as the first project which students will build from scratch. I found both Affinity Designer and Photo very helpful in the creative process and I decided to continue work with them in the future. If you do not mind, I attach some snapshots of the SwiftUI app. What do you think about it? Any suggestions or tips? I would appreciate it so much. Have a nice day! Cheers, Robert A short video about the final app: App Gallery

  9. Hi, I will like to see a slice tool feature that will allow me to slice my my designs and create html table. This will allow me to create html contents from my images/designs and also create hyperlinks. Where every slice will be a row or column in a table(tr/td). and each section of the slice can hold a hyperlink and more. It will now introduce export for web, which will create a html file with an inline css export to use for development. This will stop me from switching apps and will take AD/AP/Publisher to the next level to support web and see a good feature to support ux/ui design in prototyping And maybe later add a responsive feature to the slices made. Thanks Affinity team Please look at this. @MEB @Mark Ingram @stokerg @Sean P @TonyB
  10. Hi guys, I read in an older topic that 1.6 would bring prototyping. Is that still the case? Any ETA on that? That would really be extremely helpful. And I'm not talking about invision type prototyping, which is very basic, I'm talking about real multi level prototyping, not just changing a screen, but hiding showing objects with gestures, adding layers to a screen prototype, manipulating layers instead of whole screens, etc. Please say it will happen soon
  11. I think that Affinity Designer needs to be able to create animations of transformation and transition of an interface and more generally the UI/UX prototyping. Thanks. I love this software.
  12. I really like to see a Prototyping persona in AD, if it could extend to iPad, it would be even more perfect. I use Adobe Experience Design and Axure and a few others for prototyping, but they are not perfect in my opinion. I know how focused you guys are at improving fluency of user experience and making things feel natural (main reason i ditched adobe CC) so im betting on you guys making the perfect solution. I hope it happens soon though. Cant wait for the day that all i need to sustain my professional workflow is AD and AF, with both on iPad, i may just leave my macbook behidn and start working professionally just on iPad. Cheers.
  13. My experience (in brief) : I bought AD mostly for UI/UX design and some illustration design. Overall my experience is good. Some good things : - I felt it addressed a lot of problems that photoshop and illustrator had when it comes to UI Design. - Exporting Persona is great. - Overall it's good even though i haven't used it extensively. Problem is when i am finished with the design. I am having trouble giving my clients the source file. Only that is keeping me from leaving Adobe completely. Reason : 1. Most don't use Affinity Designer. 2. Png Export is great but clients/developers need source file : Psd, Ai or sketch. 3. PSD export has some issues e.g. exporting of text, gradient are two which i came across for now. So can't give PSD export files. Solution (Feature Requests) : 1. A free affinity designer trial. It can have limited features. But the client and developer can use them to get attributes. So no need for PSD export. I can just tell them to download the trial version. Problem solved to a certain extent. 2. Making PSD export files better. Making the text editable and solving other issues. [Problem with this] This is a tough one. Adobe is not the only competitor. There is also sketch which is getting popular day by day. Then there is XD. So making export perfect for all this is time consuming, inefficient. *3. Integration with web apps like invisionApp, Zeplin, Avacode or Sympli (I think Sympli is working on affinity designer version). This will solve many problems. It will reduce the need to make PSD export perfect. Affinity can then stand as a UI/UX tool on it's own. Similar to Sketch. Sketch doesn't need to export their files to PSD. 4. Plugins. There are different types of plugins some will make the workflow easy and some are important because it allows integration with web apps. (Mentioned in point 3) I would suggest it would be better if they can collaborate with InvisionApp. Reason : -InvisionApp supports both windows and mac users unlike many tools like principle and filnto etc. - A decent prototyping tool. - Inspect feature is similar to Zeplin, Avacode or Sympli. Reducing the need to give PSD source files to client. - Motion (still in progress) : Competitor to Principle/Flinto. I have read in many posts that these features are being highly sought after and lack of it is sadly becoming a problem in replacing Adobe / Sketch with Affinity Designer for UI/UX designers.
  14. Hi, i hear that you want to make some prototyping tool (link). It's great move and if it's will be as great as i hope, i will be jumping meter high with pure joy. I love your Designer and it's very helpful to me. But thinks like prototyping and wireframes is make my life much more easier. Unfortunately now i must thinking out how to make prototypes with only .png or .jpeg files, and it's not very nice think. And i'm not talking about that i can't install any third-party plugins for Designer like Quant-UX or Craft. These programs make my life much more satisfying. I'm very supporting you in this idea, and when this will be done, the Affinity designer will be unstoppable :) I have only few tips for you: 1) please make it more like Quant-UX, it's a great program for prototyping it has logic elements, build-in wireframe widgets, great screen grid with lines connections. (Only bad think is that i can't import my screens from Designer, only as .png) 2) layer animation, please make it, the Principle will be useless than. 3) Fixed header, fixed footer, very useful think 4) Own css, android or ios animations. Lot's of prototyping tools has only standard easing and when you want make some own animation or make material animations it is impossible to make it and than you are stuck because nobody want to see linear animations anymore. 5) Browser testing or live preview. This is indispensable. I want always see prototype in action and if i can't test on demand device it it's useful. The perfect solutions for this was on Pixate, only problem was, that they don't have browser testing, but they have developer tools like Chrome has. I don't want telling you what to do, you are professionals, but maybe will be these tips useful :) I'm really exited about this :D Thank you for your great work!
  15. I've just downloaded the trial of Affinity Designer in the quest for an ideal replacement for designing websites other than the typical bloated Adobe Photoshop/Indesign combo, especially after all the hassle of Creative Cloud. Affinity Designer seems more oriented towards illustration, but I was wondering if anyone is using it for more traditional design purposes? So far I really enjoy the feel of AD's UI, it feels very stable, smooth and fast, but I was wondering if there were ways to achieve certain basic things that are quite critical to my workflow. Is there any way to setup column based grids, for example a 12-column grid with custom gutters and so on? I suppose one could manually create all the guides in the 'Guides manager', but it seems a bit cumbersome. Is there any way to define 'Master Pages' or 'Master Artboards' in a sense? Is there any way to set character/paragraph styles so type styles can be re-used and modified document-wide? Is there a way to prevent text frames from showing overflowing text? Is there a way to place images within existing rectangles/frames and access a variety of fitting options? So that one doesn't have to simply place the image and manually use the crop tool. I suppose those are my main questions so far, as these items are the critical building blocks for my design workflow.
  16. It would be nice if AD could create interactive prototypes for wire frameing. This could be handled by attaching actions to objects and then turning on / off certain layers. You could also allow the action to go to a different page or artboard (I know artboards are still coming). You could export the whole thing as an interactive SVG for viewing in a browser, or export as html. As many designers use multiple tools to handle this already, you would be doing everyone a service by combining all the tools in one. Just my opinion.
