  1. Tribute to Audrey Hepburn, Vector (Affinity Designer) http://b-bertuleit.de/butterfly-wing/
  2. Hi everyone. I recently switched from PS to Affinity Photo, absolutely loving it. My only issue is the lack of retouching tutorials for high fashion portraits, I am still learning the ropes with Affinity, so any links to tutorials or tips on things like contouring, ect, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  4. Hi, I downloaded Affinity Designer about a week ago from a recommendation of a friend. I am new to this whole computer design and illustration and trying to teach myself techniques and skills. I have completed a couple of different projects I set for myself but here is my first ever attempt at a persons face (Snoop Dogg as requested by my brother). Any comments would be much appreciated :)
  5. David Bowie as vector graphics, my first vector portrait (with aDesigner 2015).
  6. To be honest, I've never tried Affinity Photo for digital painting. I usually work in PS or Manga Studio. But today I was testing some brush settings of Photo and came up with this quick portrait. I've always tried to emulate the traditional mediums when painting digital, so I tend to work my digital paintings with that natural a la prima feel... working in one layer and mixing pencils and 'gouache'. Here's the result: I think I'll use Photo for more digital painting. It runs pretty smooth and fluid. It is pretty fun to create brushes too, very fewer settings compared with other painting software, but at the same time those boundaries makes you create some nice brushes more quickly. Hope you all dig it!
  7. Hey there! My name is Benjamin, and I just started to use the marvelous piece of software by Serif today (even though AD is a world for itself). Never did serious stuff in Photoshop, so it's kind of a double debut. I started arts 2 years ago and I still suck, so I'd love some critique. I will also use this thread to keep on publishing my work. Cheers!
  8. Portrait (vector illustration), using some self made brushes in AD (hair).
  9. Misplaced objects after rotating page (unticking portrait option) including: —phantom second highlighted object —misplaced objects —unexpected undo behaviour see video: http://cl.ly/3a0F1s1m271b Happens using: 1.4.2 beta 3 1.4.1
  10. Vector Graphic (Portrait): a wire mesh (wireframe), and also ... a picture ;) http://b-bertuleit.de/cate-the-cat/
  11. Hi there, Does Affinity Photo support the "Portrait Professional Studio" photoshop plug in ?. Thanks, Rafael
  12. A series of friends portrait all made with the help of photo references. Only the last one (lutin) was made with Affinity photo. The latter with AD.
  13. I usually edit in Lightroom, love the tools and ratings so its my default app. I spent some time using Affinity Photo to create this Noir look. Shot with a Panasonic G7 and my Samyang 50mm. Must admit, I'm addicted to a Black & White shot. ;) Can't wait for the D.A.M to be able to organise the shots. Allan
  14. Added a screenshot (Affinity Photo Workspace) in "butterfly wings", tribute to Audrey Hepburn. I love this actress. She was so petite and delicate, but also strong, and she had a lot of power. Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favorite films, and of course I also love the cat (scenes) in the movie;-) http://b-bertuleit.de/butterfly-wing/
  15. In this tutorial we look at a family portrait and how to swap out the face of one of the kids who doesn't look to happy. Enjoy... How to swap out a face Allan
  16. Ever notice that your workspace/interface needs are quite different when you're working in 1) Portrait orientation versus 2) Landscape orientation? It's already quite constraining that computer screens are landscape-shaped – who ever told Steve Jobs and Bill Gates that computers should prioritize left-right over up-down?? Blame the fact that CRT displays evolved from Television tubes. :^( But damn them for making LCD screens even more h-o-r-i-z-o-n-t-a-l! But if you're designing a vertical layout or (lord have mercy on you!) an actual vertical portrait, you're reduced to cursing the gods of prevailing horizontality. We portraitists have to make the best of it, and get every vertical obstruction off to the side of the screen. Affinity, you can HELP! Please give us the option of switching the Toolbar into a vertical bar! (I know you'd have to figure something out for the doc tabs & parameter readouts, but you'll sort it out in your usual clever way.) A gift from heaven would be a toggle/switch command to flip from your usual interface layout, to one customized for portrait/vertical documents – with a vertical Toolbar. (I'm aware of Separated Mode and Toggle Full Screen – very helpful. But I need the toolbar and the info read-out, and don't want to be constantly Tab-Toggling interface On & Off, or Tool Bar Opt-Cmd-T.) Thanks for your serious consideration! - pbass
  17. I'v tried to do a more “realistic” drawing in AD. So it ended with some very different rendering on the same draw %) I'll try to continue those kind of tests ^^
  18. Portrait drawing, oil crayons, acrylics; NOT edited with AP, simply photographed. :o ;) :) http://b-bertuleit.de/helena/

  21. Hi everyone! I'm learning photo processing with Affinity Photo, and actually I don't have much experience with photo processing at all. So I found official tutorials extremely useful! But I can't find much tutorials related to specific area - color toning techniques for portraits. I believe it's a kind of specific because often people and background objects are processed differently to achieve some artistic effects and get high quality works. Of course, there are many tutorials for LR and Photoshop, but it's twice harder to learn something new that way. I'd appreciate any links or hints on how to dive into this. Just a couple of toning samples I liked in attachments.
  22. Handmade ;) A portrait drawing with (oil chalk) pencils & and watercolors (just some contrast and brightness settings in AP). http://b-bertuleit.de/red-blue-amber/
