  1. Star Wars - Rey - Portrait created in Affinity Designer
  2. This is a recently completed commission, which was fantastically enjoyable to undertake. Frankentoon’ s Texturiser Brush Set was a great help In creating the patina of the leather and the cushion fabric,, and Gagatka’s fur brush set really helped in creating the texture of the throw over the back of the chair. Otherwise, the smudge tool in pixel persona was essential in creating the sheen of the dog’s fur.
  3. A portrait drawing: green eyes and a surprised facial expression. https://www.bodobe.de/facial-expression/
  4. One of the simple and quick portraits I draw. I had to start working in curves so I am trying Affinity Designer now.
  5. I've been using Procreate on the ipad and Clip Studio Paint on the PC for painting, this is my first attempt at painting with Affinity Photo. Brushes are mostly of my own design. Reference from unsplash.com. Sketch by Adriano do Couto on Instagram
  6. Deborah Ann "Debbie" Harry was / is the front woman of the band "Blondie" and is a part of the soundtrack of my life. Through the disco-like song "Heart of Glass" I became aware of the band at the time and bought the previous albums: Punk, Wave, New York. Next to Bowie, Debbie Harry was the Icon of my youth. https://www.bodobe.de/debbie-harry-frontfrau/
  7. The beard won and stayed 😂. Shot with an old Fuji HS20EXR, a couple of softboxes and a black flag.... and my trusty straight razor. I usually use a greenscreen but instead used a black flag which was wrinkled to hell and had a job cutting the image out, this is about as good as I could get it.
  8. New piece. I seem to have developed a penchant for drawing bored looking women smoking - so here’s another! Cant’t think of a title though, so for now she’s just “Smoking Woman”.
  9. Is there any tutorials for something like this or can someone point me in the right direction? Any help greatly appreciated https://youtu.be/oQbZfm4pK4Q
  10. Portait of the German writer Thomas Mann, created with afphoto (various brushes). In exile (USA) he fought against the Nazi state, and there he said: Where I am is Germany. Thomas Mann was born in my hometown Lübeck, where there are also many facilities and memories of him (Buddenbrookhaus). http://b-bertuleit.de/portrait-watercolors/
  11. After having mostly created logos lately, I finally got to doing what I love most - making vector portraits. I'm experimenting with a new style and new techniques (for me at least). Fiddling with the video editor in which I hope to put together tutorials about creating realistic vector portraits when I am more familiar with the program. This is a work in progress (started March 18 2020), so bear with me. I will post new stages later. Oldest at the bottom, newer above that. More info about this portrait in my portfolio blog that you find here: https://communicats.blogspot.com/2020/03/realistic-vector-portrait-of-beautiful.html 6th stage March 20 2020 5th stage March 20 2020 4th stage March 2020 This is the third stage drawn on March 18 2020 This is the second stage drawn on March 18 2020 This is the beginning stage drawn on March 18 2020 This is the vector outline view of the 5th stage
  12. A portrait to my taste, clean vector work (affinity designer) and nothing else. https://www.bodobe.de/lene-vector-portrait/
  13. Hello folks, here is a vector portrait of David Bowie, created with Affinity Designer. Would appreciate feedback, that would be great. https://www.bodobe.de/bowie-vector-portrait/
  14. My vector portrait of Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Affinity Designer, made with restricted (5) colour palette.
  15. These 2 women both have bad , fleshy necks. I cannot figure out how to fix them. I have tied to use the tools to lighten the reds on the first one's neck and chin, but it doesn't seem to phase those areas. The second has a couple of rather large tendons diagonally down her neck, green tinge to the right but darker brown. Any experts out there?
  16. Vector-only portrait with extensive use of Layer Effects like Inner/Outer Shadow, Gaussian Blur and 3D. Oliver http://www.o5m6.de
  17. I recently bought Photo – almost seemed rude not to at the discounted price – and I’m amazed/daunted at the amount of tools that are in there. It will probably take me a very long time just to get under the surface of what’s possible but I thought I’d give myself a little challenge. I wanted to see if I could do some basic editing and decided to try and de-freckle a photo. I’ve attached the original and result side by side. I didn’t want to totally expunge every single ‘blemish’ and leave the young lady looking like a shop dummy so I tried to leave her skin as I think it could be without the freckles while still having some of the other things that skin naturally has. It’s not perfect by any means but I was very pleased with what I could do in around an hour with just the Blemish Removal Tool (and Undo). I haven’t posted this as any kind of “Look at this great thing I’ve done”, rather I’ve posted it in the hope that people thinking about buying Photo might ask themselves: “If this bloke can do this with no training or artistic talent, just think what could be possible if I got my hands on this.” Note: I have absolutely nothing against freckles. I just chose the photo as it looked like a difficult one to experiment on, which, in the end, it wasn’t because of the tools in Photo.
  18. Here is cloudy sky background in A3 portrait format I created in Affinity Photo and PhotoZoom Pro 7. Useful as a textured background in Publisher, and I'm guessing Affinity Designer. It is at 300dpi and in PNG format stored in a 7z archive. I hope you find it useful. Cloudy Sky (resized).7z Smaller sample also included.
  19. Here I demonstrate 4 principle elements that make up a successful digital portrait. These include: How 3D form is structured, Facial landmarks, Colour Luminosity Comments welcomed . Instagram> @clarkejohnsen
  20. Why is the default for a new publication landscape please? I have noticed that one needs to check a checkbox to get a portrait publication. Yet for text, portrait seems a more likely default. I am not suggesting changing it, I just wonder why that is the case as it seems counterintuitive. William

  22. A portrait (vector, affinity designer), for me one of the best actresses ever. Love for Liz. https://www.bodobe.de/vektor-grafik-portrait/
