  1. This is my first work in Affinity Designer. Didn't expected to enjoy this software this much after only few days of using it. I call this one "Red Moon" I hope you'll like it.
  2. I can't find a thread for portrait retouching. If there's already, please point me there and remove this thread.
  3. A portrait (vector, affinity designer), for me one of the best actresses ever. Love for Liz. https://www.bodobe.de/vektor-grafik-portrait/
  4. Hello, today I've been having fun with the Tone Mapping Persona and I wanted to share these 20 portrait presets with you. Of course, you can use them on anything that is not a portrait, too. Enjoy! Antonio Santos 20 Portrait Presets.aftonemap
  5. Just showin the capabilities of retouching photos with affinity photo for iPad. A before and after
  6. This morning's random posting. The devil is making work for some very idle hands at the moment. Still – back to the paid work on Monday.
  7. I would like to distort some portrait images in a kinda weird-ish way. The way I have it in my mind is as if the images were melting, you know like candle wax running down the side of a bottle or like ink which has come into contact with water and the image is partially distorted. Is this possible and if so what is the best way to go about it? ~ Much'O Thanks in advance.
  8. Here is available an attractive "Water Head" "Photo Manipulation" like Water Dispersion in Affinity Photo. It is an easy to understand "Affinity Photo Tutorial". In this tutorial you learn how to remove or change background a photo and then manipulate into an "Amazing Portrait" Here is see the tutorial : Link
  9. Hi, Just recently discovered Affinity Photo and so glad I have. Been working in Photoshop for many, many years and was wanting a change. i.e., a desire to move away from Adobe's subscription based business model. Digitally hand crafting a painting with AP is pure Magic! This image started as a graphite/pencil drawing which I scanned into AP. As you can see, I flipped the image and made some anatomical and perspective corrections to the head with the liquify persona and then went to town hand painting the image. Initially, I used some of my favorite PS brushes which I imported but soon began to discover that the Default brushes that come with AP are far superior to my PS collection of brushes that I collected over the last 15+ years. So I completed the painting primarily with the default brush selections. Here are two images. 1. the final painting 2. the image as it developed. Let me know what you think. All the best
  10. See attached. When in portrait mode and there are lots of layers, I can't scroll down to the bottom the list. If that glitch is active and I rotate to landscape it will persist. The only fix is to close the layer group, be in landscape, open the layer group. I can then scroll all the way down until I do some other manipulation, after which I may be restricted again. iPad Pro 9.7", iOS Public Beta 7, Photo beta v1.6.5.59 27D1BBC0-D580-416C-973F-4F76D6E19AE3.MP4
  11. Here's a stylised portrait that I've finally finished after been sat on my HD for a couple of years. All vectors, no pixels. Liberal use of layer blends, fx, transparency, masks etc and a bit of tweaking to give the colours a more vintage feel. Initially a quick colouring/shading test and just made it up as I went along; it worked out well and taught me the principles I used in my recent baby portrait. It's not anyone in particular, just a random selection of Google image searches refenced for the various facial features as I drew them. After all these years, I'm finally free from Illustrator and it's tedious Gradient Mesh!
  12. Affinity Designer vector illustration of my daughter at 19-days old. No pixels or vector brushes used here, just good old fashioned strokes and filled paths. Masks, transparency tool, layer FX and blend modes used where needed and a couple of adjustment layers to tweak the colours at the end. I'd guess there's around 2,000 elements make up this image - around 500 are individually positioned head hairs, and many of the individual wool strands are actually three strokes twisted together too which ups the object count. With all the blurs and depth of field stuff, it nearly kills my MacBook and takes a good 20+ seconds for the screen to redraw after every zoom or edit on high quality view settings - spent a lot of time in wireframe and low quality mode at the end. When I get a faster Mac, I'd like to add some of the less important detail that's missing to make it more convincing (e.g. the almost invisible eyebrow hairs, more detail to eyes etc.) and tweak some of the bits that are annoying me. No idea how long it took as I've been working on it on and off in my spare time (which is practically non-existent with a baby) since December - I'd estimate 30-50 hours. Anyway, hope you like it!

  14. Please refer to the attached photos of the Channel Mixer Adjustments settings in both portrait & landscape. The adjustments settings fall out of range in portrait mode. Affinity Photo 1.6.4.49 on iPad Pro 9.7” iOS 11 Public Beta 3

  16. Just a random royal black woman with a confident look
  17. Hello everyone! I would like to show you some portraits I did some time ago in Affinity Designer. It was fun! Let me know what do you think. You can see full project on my Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/49551783/Random-portraits-01-09
  18. Just for fun I wanted to see how well AP can mask hair, I must say I'm very impressed with the results. Although not perfect, it's the best result I have had after many tries with other software. Kudos Affinity!
  19. „Lene“, one of my first vector portraits with Affinity Designer. http://b-bertuleit.de/lene/ More portrait works you can find here: http://b-bertuleit.de/tag/portrait/ I would appreciate your feedback :) - - - SORRY, the links have changed: http://b-bertuleit.de/vektorzeichnungen/
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEjBGk55Rp8 A painting/illustration made entirely in Affinity Designer and a Wacom drawing tablet. I wanted to complete a digital image without first drawing a sketch and scanning it into the PC.
  21. Since the beginning of 2015, I have been working exclusively with Serif's program series. Here's an example of a vector work with Affinity Designer. I am looking forward to Serif's planned Publisher, who would make the package complete :-) http://b-bertuleit.de/vektor-arbeit-affinity-designer/
  22. It's been a long, long time since I posted anything. I saw a program on the two eccentric artists on the box, so armed with two photographs that I've take on my Fuji bridge camera, I decided to give it a bash... The girl in question was my ex-stepdaughter; who strangely didn't like this shot of her by the beach. All comments welcome... SaveSave a little bit of G&G.afdesign
  23. I'm just overwhelmed by all the possibilities designer offers and had a really fun time working on this one..
  24. A vector portrait, created with Affinity Designer. http://b-bertuleit.de/vektor-grafik-portrait/ Best wishes for Xmas and a Happy New Year!
  25. I wanted to do a little project to start to get the hang of Affinity Photo. So my long suffering wife of 30 years 'Deb' agreed to be the guinea pig for my first effort at making someone younger. So this is a woman of 50+ made to look 40+. I think it came out pretty good for a first attempt. The aim was to try to just take a few years off rather than do a beauty touch up. I took the photo with my trusty little a6000 with the 16-50 kit lens. Features of Affinity Photo used were.. Frequency separation. In-Painting brush. Patch tool. Blur brush. Smudge brush. I'm really impressed with how Affinity Photo performed. I had no real problems apart from my lack of knowledge. And the fact that I had never done anything like this before. Cheers -Scott.
