Is it possible to use the photoshop plugin "Eye Candy" in APhoto? (in Corel PhotoPaint it was possible to use) https://www.alienskin.com/eyecandy/

Can someone please tell me how to successfully get plugins to work with AP. They show up under the Filters/Plugins but they don't work. Specifically I've tried Topaz Studio and Akvis

Am I missing something or there is no way for an avid group of artists, designers and developers to build their own plugins and share with this amazing community and the rest of the world without the awesome Affinity team having to do anything for to grow exponentially and make the Affinity tools even better?

i've tried to install the Seamless Textures Plugin for PS CS6 in Affinity Photo. But it won't work. I've downloaded a .zxp file. is there any posibillity to install this kind of plugin file in affinity photo ? Thanks for your Help !!!

Hello. I am a very pleased user o Affinity Photo. Recently I acquired Exposur X5 in order to replace adobe lightroom as I did with Affinity and photoshop. I Use the two programs to produce Fine Art decoration images and I discover with regret that I cannot use Exposure X5 as a filter plugin from Affinity photo, but I can use Affinity from Exposure as "edit in" command. The Exposure X5 team response is this. "Affinity Photo needs to make a change on their side in order for Exposure to work with them, unfortunately. We've looked into that option as a host a while back." As all the above does not degrade your product's value it would be nice if you could look it up and hopefully fix it in a future update. How do you remove plugins from Affinity Photo please? I have an old version of Nik which I want to clean from my system. It seems to be all over the place. I want to do this so I can install the latest version using the instructions provided by DxO and agreed with Affinity. I don't think the current plugin is complete and working properly. Thank you.

Hi all, I just took a clean install with macOS Mojave on my MacBook Pro as it started to be really slow and full of old crap I never use anymore and I only wants to use it for creative work anyway.. but it means I don't have Photoshop installed anymore..and I would prefer not to. Can I still install the NIK plugins and use with Affinity Photo plugins, even if I don't have the Photoshop plugin folder on my Mac? If yes, can anyone please explain how? :-)

I came across the Power Retouch Plugin Suite recently. It is available for both Windows and Mac. The price seems fairly high, around $60 or £64 (inc VAT) for a single module or $299 for the set of 27 modules (Windows only). The Demo full suite installs in Affinity Photo with no problems. Those modules I have tried work OK, although once or twice an error message popped up, then disappeared. The Suite includes Colour fringe removal, Chromatic Aberration removal, Brightness and Contrast adjustments, Sharpness Editor (including halo suppression), Film grain, Softness, Lens correction etc. Those I tried worked, though I do not think that they could do anything that the current Affinity Photo could not do as an Adjustment or a Filter. Neither did they do better than my Nik or Topaz plugins. The Demo version modules do leave a visible watermark. The plus is that they all seem to work with Photo. John

I have opened windows of photos in Affinity Photo that I want to combine in an HDR image. How can I add these open windows directly to a new HDR merge? When I select a few photos in the desktop Mac Photos with the Affinity Photo plugin extension, Affinity Photos opens with windows for the selected photos open. However, when I select new HDR merge, I can't find the photos already open in Affinity Photo to add to the HDR merge and I can't enter the Mac Photos Library through the HDR merge window's "add" button. My tedious work around has been to export the selected photos from Mac Photos to a separate folder and then add the exported files to a new HDR merge, then after creating a new HDR image in Affinity Photos, import it back into Mac Photos. The whole process uses my time and storage very inefficiently and defeats the whole purpose of the Affinity plugin for Mac Photos, so there must be a better way that I haven't been able to discover. I look forward to your guidance in using the Photos plugin to efficiently create HDR images.

It's been requested before but I don't see it in regards to AP 1.7. The official Alien Skin, Eye Candy plugin functionality request for AP 1.7. People are always saying just add this or that to AP and I can drop Photoshop for ever. Well this plugin is the only remaining reason I need to open photoshop. Thank you.

Dear Developers, I have recently started using Affinity designer. Earlier I was using Illustrator. I am a product designer and I an my fellow designers often use multiple applications. We export vectors of our 2d drawings and than further enhance them in vector editors. In Affinity designer so far I have not been able to import .ai or .dwg files. I was wondering if you all could write plugin (for Rhino3D) for exporting .afdesign files form Rhinoceros.

Hello, I have read all the Nik Collection problem posts about v2 not working properly and same saying it does work properly, etc. I had already updated to Nik v2 but I still have my old google version, too. However, regardless of all of that, every single plugin I have in my drop menu is grayed out. I have double checked that 'allow unknown' is checked, I unchecked it, restarted and checked it again and restarted, and still all of my plugins are grayed out. Nik 2 isn't even showing up, but worry about that later. I also checked that I had either actual files or alias folders in the default plugin folder and I do. The Topaz always loaded until I updated my Nik 2. This was after the 1.7 update, but I don't think has anything to do with it. I have the root drive set to global, the applications folder set as a search folder and even added the new Nik folder and still the gray. Please advise. Thank you! Lisa Photos

I see that DxO have released Nik Collection 2. See http://nikcollection.dxo.com there is a 30% discount up to June 30th, and it includes DxO PhotoLab 2.3 I would be interested to see if this works with the new v1.7. I gather that some users have been having problems. John

I would love to cut the Adobe cord and am hoping that Affinity Photo will allow me to do that. But there's one critical issue: does the TWAIN plug in work with Affinity Photo so that I can use my Canon scanner to scan directly into the application?

I was recently made an offer I could not refuse to upgrade my Filter Forge 7 to version 8. There have been hints that Filter Forge has been working to get FF to work with Affinity Photo, so I tried it in both AP 1.6 and AP 1.7 Beta. The plugin installed OK in both programs. Curiously, although the folder was present in the Photoshop Plugins dialog box, the actual plugin was not listed in the Preferences. When I went to Filters > Plugins Filter Forge 8 was listed in both. In AP 1.6 when I selected FF8, I immediately got an error message (which has been submitted to Filter Forge). In AP1.7 Beta, when I selected FF8, the plugin interface appeared and it invited me to register, which I did successfully. However, when I selected a filter to apply to my image, Filter Forge closed and left Affinity Photo Frozen. I had to use the Task Manager to close AP. I tried again today with AP 1.7 Beta and FF8 gave me the same error message as in 1.6, but did not freeze AP. Filter Forge have said here: "We're trying to contact AP developers to fix the problem. How they'll answer us soon and we'll be able to make Filter Forge work under AP again. Meanwhile we suggest to work with Filter Forge in a standalone mode and use copy and paste feature to drag images to and from AP." I shall have to stick with the standalone for now. Photoshop plugins work?

I use Luminar 3, but Photoshop plugins provided by Luminar(include other Skylum software) can't be used with Affinity Photo. Is this all I have to give up? I expect the affinity version DAM.

Hi When I select the topaz clarity plugin from filters in Affinity photo when it opens the colours become very de-saturated in the plugin. This doesn't happen when I launch the plugin from Photoshop. Is anyone else having this problem?

One thing that keeps popping into my mind is this: There are tons of title plugins for FCPX/Premiere, but they are only usable within said application(s). For things like Youtube cover pic graphics, social media graphics etc it would be "strange" to create those within FCPX or Premiere with its "timeline" layout. For that one should use Designer, which is document-centric. Long story short: it would be absolutely "KILLER" if Designer was able to utilise those plugins in a static document environment. Hi all, I successfully installed Nik plugins, but the colour of the photo is so strange (Viveza2). Please see below... Original photos are in regular colour and white balance was set to be correct (see the right down corner one). Who do you know what happens and how can I solve it? Many thanks. PS: the Nik collection is from Google free.
