I have both an iPad and an iPad Pro. On the iPad I can still Place images from Dropbox exactly as they should be. And until tonight, I could do the same on the iPad Pro. Now the Placed image is coming in cropped (like a square cut out of the full image) and magnified...sometimes magnified to point of pixelation. I checked that the Preferences are the same on both. I may have altered something but I don't know what...any suggestions? Thanks Attached: After Placing the cluster of yellow and red tulips on background (single tulip), it looked like the green leaves and is the same size as the layer below.

I use a tool to have a visual feedback of our footage and have optimised it to be able to right click open it in affinity. also i use it to drag and drop footage to the canvas or to oopen it as a seperated object.. We could need the option to drag it over an existing layer to replace it ! would be handy.. maybe togethe with a shortcut to replace it and in the same time use the new one as a linked Object (when this feature will arrive for affinity ) When dragging en external file to the canvas i would like a shortcut option to first popup an option window , where to drop it .. left , right, in the middle, wich scale or so... heres a short screenshot what i mean...

For obvious reasons I'd like to transfer a lot of my graphical work to the iPad Pro and according to the specs Affinity Photo should fit my needs perfectly. As part of my usual workflow I use a lot of logo's that are mostly supplied in either .eps or .ai format. I have no problem importing AI files from my Dropbox. Importing the .eps files however does not work. All the .eps files in the list are light grey and can't be selected. Either the eps import feature is not yet active, or I'm doing something wrong. -
Is there any way to paste an object into the exact same place (X & Y coord) from one artboard into another artboard in AD? Every time I try it seems to retain its Y coord, but not its X coord. Thanks for the help! :) -
Hi, Is it somehow possible to import a SVG into an existing AD drawboard, and make the vectors part of the design, without working on it as an imbedded object? -
I use often the tool "Place" and I see there isn't any button or keyboard shortcut for it. Is it possible to create this?

Hello, I add a logo/watermark to my photos using 'Place'. I place a PNG image in the corner. Now i want to add this to a macro, but when i run it, it won't show the PNG in the corner. (it does show the layer, but the PNG is not visible) Placing the logo/watermark on every photo is too much work, can i automate this with a macro? Is 'Place' the best option, or do you have a better solution. Attached is a photo with my logo/watermark.

Hi, I have an AD document with two artboards. If I want to place that document into another AD document can I choose which of the artboards I wanna import or place? -
It would be useful to be able to place an image anywhere on a page when printing, as, e.g., when printing greeting cards on A5 paper, folded to A6. This is available in Photoshop.

When I "place" a background or other element, it comes in much much larger than the size of the image I'm working on. Then I have to decrease the size of the working image to almost nothing to be able to find the handles & downsize the "placed" element. Am I missing something? Dragging and dropping an image does the same thing. I have been watching the videos in between trying to work. There are enough differences in AP and PS to create a learning curve.

so there is this famous example - of placing a picture to audition how it looks / some kind of live mock up feature... the thing is - even in this example it looks like the picture has different perspective on the billboard (even though it's not perfect...) but I don't find any information on how to do this in Affinity designer. what am I missing here? -
Hello community! How can I place a specific page of a PDF into Affinty Designer? If I place it with File>Place I can’t find import options. The only way I found, is opening the embedded file and deleting all other Artboards, which is a real pain in the *** and half of the time it didn’t work. I would also appreciate to place all pages or a range of pages. thanks for your answers :) -
Is it possible to select a specific page when I place a pdf in AD? Now I got no dialogue box and all the pages are grouped in one big layer. Thanks ! -
Hi there, I've set "do not constrain by default" for the move tool / scaling in my preferences. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/upload-media/monthly_09_2016/post-1198-0-66436200-1473232311.png Unfortunately this has no influence to the "place file" function. Is this a bug? Or do I need a feature request for it? If so: I hope it is possible to have an option in preferences for ignoring aspect ratio for placing a file too. :) Cheers, Stefan. -
Good day, Is it possible, and if so how, to place a pdf file as a flat image instead of an image with editable layers en text? When I place a pdf that I want to use as an image but I don't have the fonts that are used in the pdf installed on my computer the whole image breaks. When you place a pdf in photoshop it is placed as a flat image. Kind regards, Joeri. -
I have an image of a product in Affinity Photo. In Affinity Designer I have a product label, where each layer of the file is a different variation of the product. I have used the Place feature in Photo to embed the Designer file and skew it to look like it's on the product itself. When I switch layers (one of 8 will be visible, the others are all unchecked) in the Designer program and save, it does not update the image in the Affinity file. Am I missing a step or does this function not work like I believe it does? Thanks! -
Hi There, I'm brand new to Affinity Designer so might be doing something wrong but after placing a logo from illustrator (.eps) it has a white background (see attached image). I've made sure it doesn't have a background colour (swatches) but no luck. I found this thread but no answer that I could see: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/3243-remove-eps-white-background/?hl=eps+white+background Does anyone know how to make placed eps files transparent? Why is there no place image icon in Affinity Photo? -
It appears that every file I place gets embedded (concerning to the layers comment behind the objects name and concerning to the documents file size). Is there a way to place objects as linked instead embedded? -
I’d like Affinity apps to have a keyboard shortcut for the “Place…” tool. When I’m using InDesign for page layouts, I often have to place a large number of files in the document, and the Cmd+D keyboard shortcut really comes in handy for that as it saves having to navigate up to the menu bar each time. However it really bugs me that this isn’t consistent between different Adobe apps – some have a different shortcut for it, while others simply lack the function entirely. As Affinity apps are designed to be interoperable, and since placing files is already a feature in both Designer and Photo it would make sense to give this tool a consistent keyboard shortcut between the apps. Having the ability to select multiple files to place at once while in the Finder modal window (again similar to InDesign) would also help massively. -
Hello, I use AD to create illustrate comic books. I illustrate the various panels on separate pages then use the 'place' tool for my final layout. It would speed things up greatly if I could simply select a 'reload' button rather than having to select 'replace' image and then selecting the file through the browser every time there are changes to the panels .
