I know this question has been asked for Affinity Photo and people actually could, but I'm wondering if there is any way we could use them in Affinity Designer too? I'm asking specifically because I have an icon program that I use in photoshop (https://iconscout.com/icondrop/for-office) which I'm hoping I could use with affinity designer as their native windows app is still under development.

[starting a new topic because searching the forums produces scattered, incomplete, and contradictory notions of installation and use information.] Are there, somewhere, in one place, clear instructions on installing and troubleshooting plugins in AP? Specifically interested in NIK Collection and their use in AP (is there some version that works and some that don't? Incompatible OS versions? Mac Win?) The implication seems to be that they work in AP, but they don't seem to work for me (Do they work only from a certain folder? Do some obscure permissions need to be set? What is and what are the implications of a "plugin support folder" versus a "plugin search folder?" What is and what are the implications of "global support?") If I can get them to work, is there a non-destructive way (reversible/editable) to use NIK tools in AP? As for myself, I have downloaded the free version of NIK Collection from Google and am running a Mac on El Cap (10.11.5) with AP (v 1.4.2) purchased via the Apple App Store. Thanks

Hi, I'm a graphic designer specializing in book covers and I'm considering making the switch from Adobe to your programs. They look absolutely beautiful and I've downloaded the free trial of Design to test out but noticed there isn't a free trial for photo. I want to test the program out before I make the switch mainly to see if the Photoshop Plugins and actions I have will work. Is there a trial I can download? And will the plugins and what not I've purchased for Photoshop work in your program? Thanks for your time!

After adding my photoshop plugins folder and restarting, I see all my plugins in the list. (and I had the checkmark 'allow unknown plugins' checked, because _every_ plugin is listed as unknown) But they are all greyed out (including Nik Color Efex and Topaz Denoise 6 which are listed as fully working on the Mac version). Switching the workspace to 8bit they became all available, but I if they only work in 8bit I wouldn't really call it 'compatible' or working to be honest. And the first I actually tried using is CF Systems ColorPerfect, which immediately crashed upon loading (access violation message). Another question (which I can probably figure out be searching and reading but still), am I supposed to work this with raw files: Open the raw file, switch to the 'develop persona' if Affinity doesn't do it itself, make adjustments in the right and when I'm done press the 'develop' button in the top left? Also, the lens corrections I could find where all manual, are there any kind of automatic lens correction-profiles? In the case of raw files from micro 4/3 camera's which have 'embedded' distortion correction, do they apply?
