How do you change the User Interface font size in Affinity Photo (1.5.0.45) on Windows? According to the help file, the option should be in Edit > Preferences > User Interface > Font UI Size, but it appears to be missing?

Hi, I have a simple question. First off I love Affinity Photo and am moving all my photo editing needs over to it, but was wondering why all my .ORF files consistently appear at least 1 to 2 stops darker in the develop persona than what the JPEG embedded preview shows? Is there a setting that I have wrong or is this just something I have to get used too? I'm currently running 1.6.2 on Windows. I'm used to seeing the exposure level showing the same level as the JPEG preview in other editors. -
I loaded an image into Affinity Photo on my iPad, which was taken using the Depth Effect of the iPhone 7+. Somehow the original, unaltered version was loaded, which may be useful in some circumstances, but not in this case. iOS 11.2.5 doesn’t even show the unaltered version anywhere, so I’m puzzled how Affinity Photo got it. is there a way to open the version processed by Apple’s Depth Effect? I don’t want to manually try to duplicate it. Just correct some lighting issues. In the example below you can see the image shown in Apple Photos on right and the version loaded by Affinity...

Hey! So I am going through over 500 product photos for our electronics company and I would like to automate creating slices. Basically for each product photo I am trying to export 7 standard slices with different aspect ratios and crops, so slices is definitely the tool for that. But it seems like a prime application for a macro or other preset thing where I can create all of these slices automatically with the export preset and aspect ratios that I want. I would still have to frame each photo and fine tune it, but having the slices all ready for me would be awesome. The macro tool seems to only work in the Photo persona. I timed myself a few times and doing the math, if I can automate this I will save me 20 hours of work! Best, Jared -
Fill layers - Strange behaviour when rasterised

Fill layers do not respond to live filters. I have tried "Add noise", "Vignette", "Halftone", "Voronoi" and "Procedural textures". Well, as far as I know, fill layers internally are vector objects and thus might be treated different from pixel layers, but on the other hand the forementioned live filters are applicable to vector shapes such as rectangles or ellipses. So, why not use a flood-filled pixel layer? Well, the main reason for using a fill layer is the possibility to change the colour on the fly right from the colour picker dialogue. The flood fill tool is cumbersome to use here. I just made a strange discovery: When you rasterise a fill layer, its label changes to Pixel. So far, so good. From now on all the live filters work as expected. Ok. But when you now go to the colour picker and change the colour, the "pixel" layer is updated as if it was still a fill layer. So why doesn't a fill layer respond to live filters in the first place? Windows 10, AP 1.8.3 -

The Shiznizzle brushes say they have been imported but are not in my list I purchased Shiznizzle and Concept Master today. Everything installed fine to Affinity Photo windows desktop except the brushes for Shiznizze. I tried import twice (because I thought I forgot to import them on the first go), and I tried drag and drop the 3rd time. I got notifications each time that the brushes had imported successfully, and the second and third time it added 2 and 3 after the name of the brush. New brushes always appear at the bottom of my list, but I went through my list of brushes multiple times anyway. So, how can I use these missing but installed brushes? -
Well I got a new idea but instead of writing Tons of lines I just decided to open a 2 questions poll to see if my idea stands. Well, can discuss about here but answering the question would talk better while the points will stand as complementary ideas. Blessings! -
Hello there, As much as I'm loving the new Brush Editor features, there's a bug that's been around since the current stable Designer and Photo versions. I've reported it a couple of times already and I hope this issue gets addressed, because it really ruins the experience when using advanced features from the brush panel. When you add the Wet Edges option to a brush (from the editor), this option gets deactivated or non-recognized back when switching tools using the brush command key (B) and many times, when selecting the brush manually from the brushes panel. Let's say I need to erase something; I switch to the Eraser using (E), then I want to go back to my brush using (B) and when I do that, Wet Edges are switched off automatically, unless I double-select that brush... then, Wet Edges are back on. It totally ignores the stored brush settings. This affects dramatically the way brushes were originally designed. Thank you!

I'm using the Windows-Version from Affinity Photo, so far I figured out everything I need. But only one problem: I can't dock the tools-box on the right side. I've tried different ways to do so, but no matter what I do it's always docking on the left side. Is it impossible to dock it on the right side or are there options available I haven't found so far? Thanks for your help.

As discussed in the general Requests, Suggestions & Discussions or in the Questions: Metric system was created at our Revolution to unify with a simple design and simple way to count, and stop using all the old and complicated other systems with difficult conversions or no concordance between mesurements. It's a decimal system, with a standard meter as reference. Using non decimal mesurement is heresy and a bug I feel ridiculous to post thrice the same post. It would be nice if bugs affecting all the apps and discussed in the general parts of the forum was taken in account.

Can someone please divide questions and posts for your Photo and Designer iPad apps into seperate forums? Its very frustrating slogging through topic headings that either cover Designer or Photo when I'm searching ONLY for those relevant to the app I need help with. PLUS a lot of the headers don't mention the app being asked about. -
My Assets panel is empty, and refuses to accept assets, in both Photo 1.7.2.471 and Publisher 1.7.2.471. It works okay in Designer 1.7.1.404. I exported Designer's, and imported them into Publisher. Publisher now lists the category, but doesn't give access to the assets.

I like Affinity Publisher's ligature support for Open type fonts. It is very good. Is it possible to make it more intelligent in the future to handle fonts which have ligatures in them but shouldn't use them when the font chosen doesn't support them properly for said font? Linux Biolinum Caps Linux Libertine Initials It can be sorted out manually but it would be nice if Publisher remembered fonts which don't perform well using standard settings. Aside from having the ability to change your brush view in the Brushes panel from a list to a grid/icons, it would be really nice to be able to rearrange the brush categories. Every time new brushes are added, they are added in a new category at the bottom of the category list, but that category then can't be moved up or down. This removes the ability to (for example) move all of my inking brush categories closer together and all of my painting brush categories together, to keep things tidy and organised. Basically, in the same way you can move brushes up and down in the category list, it would be great to be able to do this with the brush categories themselves too. Not a big deal, but it would be a handy little addition to the brushes panel that would be nice to see in a future update - I also can't imagine it being very difficult to implement something like this. -
Hi there, Please can you help? Affinity Photo keeps freezing when I try to move a layer (i.e. about half a dozen mouse clicks after launching the software). The file size is small (less than 1MB). I'm running AF on a Wacom Studio Pro (Windows 10 Pro) with 16MB ram and 399GB free disk space. I have reinstalled the computer which has not helped this issue. Please can anybody point me towrads some things to try to resolve this? It is the only App crashing, everything else seems to be fine. Many thanks in advance for any help you could kindly offer. -
Two features that would be incredibly useful when using the Crop Tool would be: 1: To be able to constrain the crop in the same way as when transforming a shape/rectangle. Using shift to constrain proportions, or cmd to resize from the centre point. It would be really helpful with speeding up the cropping process without having to place guides first. When working on a square canvas, for example, having the ability to constrain the square crop and resize from the centre point would be really useful. 2: Including snapping for the crop tool. Snapping the crop to extremities or elements within the canvas would be really handy, instead of first having to place a guide using the rulers and then snapping the crop to those rulers. If I had an image that was off of the canvas and wanted to crop the canvas to include it, it would be great to snap the crop tool to that image's edges so that I can neatly resize the canvas to include the added element. Two small features that I feel would make a huge difference.

Hi, When using the clone brush tool, I notice that I have options to set the rotation, scale, and opacity of the cloned area, but I can't find any way to adjust the location of the clone source once it's been set. I find it much more useful to adjust this location using the keyboard shortcuts, rather than the rotation and zoom. For reference, the way to do this in PS, is holding Option + Shift + arrow keys. It's extremely useful when the source of your clone has a repeating pattern. Is there a way to do this in Photo? Thanks -
Hello, I can't Download photo from my cloud storage Dropbox into Affinity photo. I can open Dropbox, but I can see plane icons only and it is impossible to download an individual picture. There is only a mark that downloading is in the process but nothing happens. Thaks for helping. Spagina -
How can one create a border - either in a straight line or in a dashed line - like the one you can create with the “stroke” function in photoshop? -
The current Practical Photography magazine has a piece on how to do this with Channels in Photoshop: simply move one channel to the right and another to the left. I can't get this to work in AP: if I select any channel and move it (Move tool) the others move with it, whether they're set to not editable or otherwise.I've tried copying each channel to a new layer, but I can't find a way to recolour them and set a blend mode that gives the same effect.Any ideas? This was made in Paint Shop Pro, which has turned the RGB layers into CMY, just to add to my woes.

I recently bought Affinity Designer for the Microsoft App Store and I am loving it on my PC. I just bought a Surface Pro X, after having a HP Envy X2, both of these devices are Windows 10 on Arm devices. With my HP Envy X2, I used the 32-bit Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Adobe stated recently that it is bringing its apps starting with Fresco to Windows 10 on Arm. I would like to use Affinity Designer & Photo on it instead of the Adobe products.
