How do I use the paint brush to adjust exposure on a small area of the photo?

Hi everyone, i once was a zbrush user, rather as a hobby, not professional, but i allways wondered, why programs like photoshop and affinity didnt have the very smart feature of a lazy mouse like in Zbrush.. now, Adobe Photoshop 2018 has arrived and some nice features are in there.. one of them is the smoothing brush, comparable to the lazy mouse, and improved.. So this would be a very very nice new feature for affinity Photo too.. also symetrie ist great, they´ve embeded also as affinity allready has a panoramic feature.. better organised brushpresets. hmm.. a better maskrefinement, that before photoshop 2018 was not quite as good as the maskrefinement of affinity photo, but now seems to be equal ore even better ? So Affinty Photo Team... some of these new features are worth a look at... greetings.

Using Affinity Designer is there a simple keyboard shortcut that can switch the eraser tool between remove pixels and adding pixels back in?

Hi there, I bought Affinity today, realy impressive program on first look. But i think, it will be better for some photo upgrades, than painting. I using Paint Tool SAI, same price, easier for draw/paint, very quick with manage options of brush. I hope, Affinity will be much better, if take care on that. Affinity is can be small baby, what if grow up ...will it be maybe much better choice than Photoshop. Brush options are really great, but still looks too much sharp and irresponsive with underpaint. And one veeeeeery annoying thing, the cursor or brush shape there ...i was try to disable at the UI options and restart ...without changes. Best wishes to this project and kind regards Hex

How do I get rid of the line inside of my objects that separates my outline from the filled area? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help! MOOP.tiff

I'm trying to use the pixel Paint Brush tool and it's not showing up. The Brush Opacity, Flow, and Hardness are at 100% and the Blend mode is on normal. The layer opacity is 100% and Blend mode is normal. Am I missing something or is this an error? Here's a video of the problem: https://youtu.be/Mu4ySt0oH6k

Hi. When I an using tablet and moving pen very slow, brush is moving but does not draw some distance, and then bang! and draw straight line from start to current brush position. Like choppy drawing. When using mouse all is great, and when i moving pen fast all is good and smooth too. Look at screenshots please, I made similar drawing in two programs on one computer and tablet.

It was a nice surprise to find the art brushes in Affinity Photo. Here is a painting based on a couple of photos I took in Maine. The work took about 3-4 hours. The program could be better at painting with a couple of simple additions: 1 A good blender brush. Smudge and Blur aren't that useful for this. 2 A simple and easy way to change brush size without having to go to the slider - shortcut keys - control click and then drag to set size

Hi! I'm very new to Affinity. It was one thing I suddenly discovered when I just experimented. And that was that I can select a texture as a brush and paint and also zoom the texture in and out. I don't know what this is called, but I hope someone out there understand what I mean. My problem is that I can't find this anymore. I don't remember where I found it.

When scaling the SIZE of a paint brush the DENSITY of the brush changes also. Please look at my image. It is the same brush. Below the stroke has been downscaled but it also affects the density which I don't want to happen :huh: But I'd like to keep the same density for a brush in various sizes. Is that possible and how? I hope someone has a great tip :) Thanks a lot!

Hi!, I plan to switch to Affinity Photo for my illustration work in the near future. I don't like Adobe's subscription business model. I've been testing Photo with real projects and works ok. But there are some things that still need improvements to consider it in a day to day pipeline of work. First of all I'm testing it on a 2014 27" iMac, 16 GB RAM and 2.7 GHZ processor. Iris Pro Graphics. 1. Brushes still have some lag when painting fast and in high resolution. Several strokes are drawn very delayed before drawing them with the tablet. Time is crucial in my work and this issue is a little bit frustrating. 2. I understand the color picker being precise, but again, in a day to day basis I use the color picker hundreds of times and almost automatically when I'm painting. As it is now, the delay of the color picker can be annoying when you seat for 5 straight hours painting and try to work as fluid as you can. ¿Can we have a less precise but faster color picker option?, that would be great guys. And finally, there is this little bug in the brushes panel. When you select one brush and change its size with the keyboard, that brush in the panel is deselected automatically. Visually confuses a bit, even thought the brush itself is still selected. Just my two cents, hope this great piece of software make it far, I really admire your work guys!

hi, Affinity Designer Team. Im Madder Merlin. I am not good at English, but will participate in the forum using the Google Translate. I want to assign a shortcut to the paint brush and eraser of pixel persona. Paint function of Affinity Designer is great, but I believe that convenience is missing. And, since want to do more instantly brush size and brush opacity, shortcut want also to these functions.
