  1. As someone who transferred to Affinity Designer upon launch, ditching the traditional Adobe Products that most of the industry utilizes I am, for the most part, thrilled with incorporating Affinity Designer into my workflow. However, there are two features that I have been longing for. The first of which is the incorporation of editable text in an exported PSD. Some clients desperately want the PSD files of all of the work in the final form, and documents with tons of text present an issue as all text now exports as a pixel layer. I know it is a huge coding ordeal, but it would be such a huge asset to us all. Please, in your next update try to incorporate this feature for your dedicated designers using your design programs so that we are not forced to find ridiculous workarounds. Secondly, I would love to see an option for batch exporting of artboards to save them as the individual artboard name in a dedicated folder. So much of my time is spent opening a new document and placing the contents of each artboard individually on a new canvas and saving them for client work. A batch save option would be extremely helpful, especially if the same options are available there like the ones currently available in the export menu.
  2. Est-il possible de créer un fichier. PSD ? Puis d'exporter Des éléments De ce fichier Dans un logiciel de cartoon ?
  3. Hi guys, i tried opening a complex Photoshop file which basically is a resume organized in 4 pages with multiple layers each. The file is definitely big (300mb) but the problem seems to have to do with compatibility between the file created in Photoshop and how AP will manage the same objects. In particular, there’s a smart object in PS which is a photo that should be visible only as a portion covered by shapes in other layers. Unfortunately the photo is not visible at all unless i re-organize the layers but obviously that brings to losing the original order of layers and the picture is totally visible instead of being shown as a portion only. In PS everything is working perfectly.
  4. Here is a quick look at using mockups within Affinity Photo and Designer. Slightly different from using PS, but still possible and a great way to display your's or a clients work. Allan https://youtu.be/aOKsS9HqsEk
  5. My use case is for editing the device mockups that can be found around the net in Photoshop PSD format but not others. They often make use of the Smart Objects feature the Adobe app to make placing the "screen" in the virtual device a lot quicker. Support for at least opening the layers within a smart object would be wonderful in Affinity Photo. Currently I can usually get most of the way there by manually getting the projection right with Filter > Distort > Perspective but on some files, I can't omit other layers because some of the device itself is within a smart object. For instance, on one there's a shadow added that I don't want. Supporting Smart Objects would make this easier and more flexible.
  6. Hello, and happy new year to the community. Does anyone know why I can not export in psd to any cloud from my iPad? Thank you (I upload a video where you see what happens to me) E8903498-20D2-48D4-9BDA-DACF4E2309AD.MP4
  7. Hello, My designer sends me designs as PSD files. Now I want to open them and make some small changes within Affinity Designer. Then I will send them to my web developer, to create my website. My web developer has only Photoshop not Affinity Designer. When I try to export the changed design to PSD, the quality suffers and it looks like the vecors became bitmaps. What do I have to use in the export settings to get perfect quality? Thank you very much for your help. All the best, Christian
  8. Hey everyone! It would be great if there was an option within the export persona to make, for example, this: Group A (Group) Group 1 (Group) Shape 1 (Vector) Shape 2 (Vector) Group 2 (Group) Shape 3 (Vector) Shape 4 (Vector) Group 3 (Group) Shape 5 (Vector) Shape 6 (Vector) Group 4 (Group) Shape 7 (Vector) Shape 8 (Vector) Group B (Group) Shape 9 (Vector) to that: Group A (Group) Group 1 (Pixels) Group 2 (Pixels) Group 3 (Pixels) Group 4 (Pixels) Group B (Group) Shape 9 (Pixels) Best wishes, Shu
  9. Hey everyone! I'm not sure if this happens when using other Affinity software, but when exporting to .psd, Photo on iPad deletes empty layers and a layer if it has solid color and is placed as last layer and sets its color as background color. Please don't assume empty layers could be deleted or a solid color layer should be converted to background color. This is quite inconvenient. Best wishes, Shu
  10. I love affinity designer on iPad so much and its mind-blowing to think that this is the only workflow i use to create bulk of event visual from start to finish. But I got one concern. Because i am collaborating with other designers and sharing them my PSD file done in AD is a problem. I dont if im just not aware if there is any settings for this but is anyone having the same issue when you export a design layout as PSD and open it on Photoshop that all the text are expanded as object even if you set up you export setting as PSD - Preserve Editability. Thanks in advance for the response.
  11. Hi, Please, can you give us an estimate date on which the feature that will allow us to export text from Affinity to Photoshop and keep the text editable will be live? Please, I'm practically begging, I love this friggin app, and this is the only thing keeping me from working with it. PLEASE! At least an estimate! Thank you, Chris
  12. Hi, i have a problem when open PSD file. I cannot edit text layer? Is to possible to fix it ? In photoshop this layer is editable. Thanks.
  13. Just got an iPad Pro and planning to install Affinity for the purpose of working on photos. I don’t use Cloud and I don’t want to use iTunes. Is it possible to use a lightning to USB memory stick or card reader as a drag and drop to transfer RAW and PSD files from my desktop pc to iPad Pro to work on and then transfer back to desktop pc? If so, can anyone recommend a suitable flash drive or card reader with drag and drop which can do this? Many thanks!
  14. Hi Affinity team, I am having a problem to export an affinity designer's file to PSD, below is the screenshot. Please assist, thank you! Regards, Susan
  15. Hi guys!I hope all is well on your end.I actually just purchased affinity designer & photo and I already have a good workflow!I really like it a lot!But there’s a thing that just kind of staggered me: I’m not able to work with my psd mock-ups the way I’d wish.I’ve done some researches too, but it comes down to the fact that I need to adjust my image into the mockup.Which isn’t bad if you have simple mock-ups. But it’s quite complex when it comes to more advanced shapes.I feel like mock-ups are important somehow to make graphic work stand out more.Could you please bring an update soon with more ‘affinity’ to psd mock-ups please? That would be awesome! Thanks in advance,Jonathan KolomoniRetroness D
  16. Hi, I am trying to export an .afphoto file as layered for an (adobe user) client. I understand that .tif is not an option for me so I tried using the PSD. However, when I export the file seem to reduce in size significantly. I've attached a screenshot so you can see the file size comparison. Original file size is 26MB, export size is around 4MB. Is there some setting I am missing so I can give my client an editable layered PSD file? Thanks.
  17. As i can see right now i cant get PSD's with editable text layers from Affinity Designer. And i'm often asked for PSDs of stuff i'm designing. So i'd like to have like dropdown menu (like those that already are in PSD export dialogue) asking me if i want to export text as editable text layers or if i want it to be smart object or anything else.
  18. I am new to affinity and am struggling. How do i view font information in PSDs. A graphic designer is sending me PSDS via my client, i think he creates them in photoshop, the client has assured me font information is contained in the PSDS. Font size, font family, h1, h2 info, stuff like that. I cannot see how to view this information and am becoming really frustrated at how difficult it is to access this basic information. Yes, i googled it, and i found this:(it embeded, it is above this message) It said to "With the file closed in Affinity, can you check under Preferences>General and make sure you have 'Import PSD as Text rather than bitmap' ticked and then reopen the file. You should then be able to select the text and edit it." so i have done that and someone else says " If you use the move tool (arrowhead symbol) and click on the text itself you'll see the font and text size displayed." but still for the life of me cannot see the font family, size and h1 h2 etc. I have attached a screenshot, this is me having clicked the text and in the right handside panel it just says "no style" Please someone help me, it is driving me crazy right now. Thanks a lot in advance!
  19. Hi! I started using Affinity Photo on my iPad and I'm loving it, but i'm having a little problem. I'm not able to export the file to psd, with the editable layerm so I can change the texts in my Photoshop (even by selecting the preset PSD - Preserve editability,) is there any way to do this? Thank you very much for the help.
  20. Hi, What typical save times are we looking at for the various export options? I'm currently exporting out a PSD at 530mb approx and it's taking ages! I understand it'll vary depending on file size/amount of information, but this does seem really quite slow? Are many people bouncing work between the desktop and iPad? Best, Nick
  21. Hi, I would like to share with you a site where you can download lot of PSD Mockups (electronic, food, item) entirely for Free. All mockups have editable semi-transparent shadows and electronics mockups - iPhone, iPad, Surface also have fully editable screens. All resources available on Undesigns.net are royalty free for use in both personal and commercial projects. You don’t need to include any attribution or link to Undesigns.net. https://undesigns.net/
  22. Hi there, m name is Liam. I'm basically a total rookie. I have just started web design. I am trying to use PSD mock-ups I've downloaded from a free resource website. I can open them, but the smart image feature doesn't work. I just want my images to fit in automatically and scale. I have seen a video online, but that was from 2015. I'm not sure if I'm downloading them correctly, or opening them correctly. Any help please? thanks
  23. I just wanted to recap the current state of how Affinity Designer is performing in web design workflows. I'm using Affinity Designer since one year for all of my work and I love the application itself. But as of now there is no complete workflow to handout designs made in AD to developers in any way: 1. Neither Zeplin nor Avocode support AD and it doesn't seem that anthying will change here. 2. Affinity Designer supports PSD Export but has two major drawbacks: Border radius properties are not preserved and text layers are completely flattened which make them completely useless. 3. Affinity Designer doesn't support the new open file format of SketchApp to be able to export designs as Sketch files to then inspect them in Zeplin, Avocode, or any other Sketch Viewer. 4. Exporting to SVG or PDF is not an option either because important properties like border radius, line-height and others are missing. 5. Right now it doesn't seem that Affinity is adding an inspect persona or any viewer service or app. So I'd like to ask the Affinity Designer team: What are your goals to improve the workflow for webdesigners and developers? How are you planning to improve this workflow in the future or don't you plan to do anything in this regard? Do you have any suggestion how web designers can work with developers? I've added a poll so that users can vote which suggestion they like the most.
  24. I did a lot of reading as well as exploring within AP, but couldn't find the correct info to help me, so I'm posting here. Forgive the amount of info, but at least you'll know what I'm driving at. Please bear with me. I have a PSD template I use for colorizations in PS. I would like to open that (or any other preexisting file) in AP and maintain all layers, associated masks, colors, and clipped adjustment layers, as well as groups, blending options, etc. What I'm getting is that the groups seems ok. I noticed that the icon displays effects of what is within that group, whereas in PS, it was a simple Group icon. This is a nice touch in AP. Blending modes and opacities are the same. The Solid Color fill layers and their associated masks are merged when loaded into AP, instead of having a fill layer and separate mask underneath it like when creating a fill layer, then adding a layer mask if it was done directly in AP. The layer icon background is black and the revealed area is a color similar to what was masked in PS, but the RGB Hex number for the Solid Color fill layers in PS do not match the RGB Hex number in AP. Note that the color profile is set the same in preferences, but could be different in the template file, which I've had for a long time, and since it doesn't happen in something like the example below. I will use a simple example here without groups, one that can be recreated by anyone rather than me uploading a picture: In a PS PSD file, layers tab, we have: - a locked background picture - let's say of two green balloons. - a Solid Color fill layer - let's say blue, and named "Blue Balloon". - the associated layer mask that PS automatically added when choosing the Solid Color fill layer. This is inverted to all black except for the white portion set to a selection of one of the balloons to allow us to change the color to blue or any other color we want thereafter, and to allow us to change or adjust the masked area later on as well. - a Hue Saturation layer clipped to the Solid Color fill layer below it - let's say we set Hue to +25 and Saturation to +50 for the sake of this example. Save the PSD file, then open it in AP. In AP, layers tab, we have: - a locked background (Pixel) picture of the two green balloons. - a layer named "Blue Balloon (Fill)". It appears to be a merge of the blue Solid Color fill layer and the associated layer mask created in PS. - a Hue Saturation layer that looks clipped (is under the fill layer), but seems to have no affect on the Solid Color fill layer above it. Also, Hue Shift has the color under cyan at +25 as compared to blue in PS. Saturation Shift appears to be the same. So at first glance, it appears we have a few problems: the fill layer and mask are merged, the RGB Hex number is different (in my colorization template but not any other file I start from scratch), and the HS layer does not appear to be active, nor does the hue amount match when loaded into AP. First, how can I ensure that the color hex numbers are the same when loading a PSD file in AP? Next, are there solutions and/or workarounds to loading PSD files into AP, especially in the case of merged layers and masks, and if so, what are they, and what have you users been doing in these types of situations? Cheers! p.s. Is there a preview post option on this forum? I just get Cancel and Submit Topic.
  25. Hey guys, Does anyone know if Photoshop 2017 can open svg text as editable text? I really hate Photoshop, I really love Affinity, but I still need some way to provide psd files to some of my clients. So I noticed that if I export text as SVG from Affinity, I can keep it as text, and if I inspect it in any browser, I will get the exact info of the font ( font family, size, color, weight, style, line heights, everything). Can I import such a SVG containing text into Photoshop 2017 and see it as editable text in Photoshop? Did anyone try this? I would pay like an idiot for a Photoshop license monthly just for that, and that will make me hate Photoshop even more
