  1. Here is a quick look at using mockups within Affinity Photo and Designer. Slightly different from using PS, but still possible and a great way to display your's or a clients work. Allan https://youtu.be/aOKsS9HqsEk
  2. My use case is for editing the device mockups that can be found around the net in Photoshop PSD format but not others. They often make use of the Smart Objects feature the Adobe app to make placing the "screen" in the virtual device a lot quicker. Support for at least opening the layers within a smart object would be wonderful in Affinity Photo. Currently I can usually get most of the way there by manually getting the projection right with Filter > Distort > Perspective but on some files, I can't omit other layers because some of the device itself is within a smart object. For instance, on one there's a shadow added that I don't want. Supporting Smart Objects would make this easier and more flexible.
  3. Is there any way when opening a psd file to be able to have text layers editable rather than as pixel data. I receive psd files from designers that I turn into websites and I need to be able to select the text and find out the font name, style, weight etc...
  4. Hello, and happy new year to the community. Does anyone know why I can not export in psd to any cloud from my iPad? Thank you (I upload a video where you see what happens to me) E8903498-20D2-48D4-9BDA-DACF4E2309AD.MP4
  5. Hello, My designer sends me designs as PSD files. Now I want to open them and make some small changes within Affinity Designer. Then I will send them to my web developer, to create my website. My web developer has only Photoshop not Affinity Designer. When I try to export the changed design to PSD, the quality suffers and it looks like the vecors became bitmaps. What do I have to use in the export settings to get perfect quality? Thank you very much for your help. All the best, Christian
  6. Hi I have problem with correct printing with transparent elements. On a page are embedded pdf logo and few embedded psd with transparency and shadow fx. Printing on PS color laser printer without "Clip Transparency" I got a rectangle (lighter/darker) around each object and no shadow effect! Sample attached - print1.png = pdf logo Then print with selected "Clip Transparency". Is better. Although still poorly you will see a rectangle around the object and no shadow effect! Sample attached - print2.png, print3.png and corresponding - screenshot.png I find that the best way is to export to pdf and print pdf, however can I print without boxes around objects and with visible shadow effect? 7. Hi guys, My affinity designer crashes as soon as i open the export dialog box but only when the it is defaulted to PSD. if I choose eps, the file will export just fine albeit slow. I am using both vector and pixel persona (heavier on pixel persona) My client is requesting an psd file. help. I did not attach the file here due to size Thanks in advance E
  8. Hey everyone! It would be great if there was an option within the export persona to make, for example, this: Group A (Group) Group 1 (Group) Shape 1 (Vector) Shape 2 (Vector) Group 2 (Group) Shape 3 (Vector) Shape 4 (Vector) Group 3 (Group) Shape 5 (Vector) Shape 6 (Vector) Group 4 (Group) Shape 7 (Vector) Shape 8 (Vector) Group B (Group) Shape 9 (Vector) to that: Group A (Group) Group 1 (Pixels) Group 2 (Pixels) Group 3 (Pixels) Group 4 (Pixels) Group B (Group) Shape 9 (Pixels) Best wishes, Shu
  9. Hey everyone! I'm not sure if this happens when using other Affinity software, but when exporting to .psd, Photo on iPad deletes empty layers and a layer if it has solid color and is placed as last layer and sets its color as background color. Please don't assume empty layers could be deleted or a solid color layer should be converted to background color. This is quite inconvenient. Best wishes, Shu
  10. When I export the file in PSD, AP crashes (see the report in the attached file "Affinity_Photo_Bug_Report.txt"). OS Version: Mac OS X 10.14.1 Affinity Photo version: 1.6.11 (1.6.11.135) Affinity_Photo_Bug_Report.txt
  11. Hello, I have a web layout that I've created using Affinity Designer and I want to export it as a PSD with layers (preferrably editable where possible) so someone I'm working with who only has and knows Photoshop can make changes. However, when I export the layout no matter which preset I choose (even PSD preserve editability) it always exports flattened to one pixel background layer. I'm opening the result in Photoshop CC 2018. What do I need to change so that it will export my document to layers?
  12. I love affinity designer on iPad so much and its mind-blowing to think that this is the only workflow i use to create bulk of event visual from start to finish. But I got one concern. Because i am collaborating with other designers and sharing them my PSD file done in AD is a problem. I dont if im just not aware if there is any settings for this but is anyone having the same issue when you export a design layout as PSD and open it on Photoshop that all the text are expanded as object even if you set up you export setting as PSD - Preserve Editability. Thanks in advance for the response.
  13. I just purchased Affinity for the Mac with the understanding that it could export to PSD format. When I try to import then export PSDs, Affinity crashes repeatedly; it crashes when I simply click on the PSD tab icon in the "Export" dialog. This is a big problem for me.I'm on Affinity 1.6.11, and Mac OS 10.13.4 (High Sierra). Is a solution known at this point? Thanks, Q
  14. Hi, Please, can you give us an estimate date on which the feature that will allow us to export text from Affinity to Photoshop and keep the text editable will be live? Please, I'm practically begging, I love this friggin app, and this is the only thing keeping me from working with it. PLEASE! At least an estimate! Thank you, Chris
  15. Just got an iPad Pro and planning to install Affinity for the purpose of working on photos. I don’t use Cloud and I don’t want to use iTunes. Is it possible to use a lightning to USB memory stick or card reader as a drag and drop to transfer RAW and PSD files from my desktop pc to iPad Pro to work on and then transfer back to desktop pc? If so, can anyone recommend a suitable flash drive or card reader with drag and drop which can do this? Many thanks!
  16. Hi Affinity team, I am having a problem to export an affinity designer's file to PSD, below is the screenshot. Please assist, thank you! Regards, Susan
  17. Hi guys!I hope all is well on your end.I actually just purchased affinity designer & photo and I already have a good workflow!I really like it a lot!But there’s a thing that just kind of staggered me: I’m not able to work with my psd mock-ups the way I’d wish.I’ve done some researches too, but it comes down to the fact that I need to adjust my image into the mockup.Which isn’t bad if you have simple mock-ups. But it’s quite complex when it comes to more advanced shapes.I feel like mock-ups are important somehow to make graphic work stand out more.Could you please bring an update soon with more ‘affinity’ to psd mock-ups please? That would be awesome! Thanks in advance,Jonathan KolomoniRetroness D
  18. Hi there, I am very new at Photoshop, let alone Affinity Photo. I am exporting a PSD for someone, but when they go to edit the text, they can't. They can move it, delete it, but not edit the actual text. Is there something I am missing? A setting when I am exporting? Thank you for your advice and insight. Sarah E.
  19. Hi, I am trying to export an .afphoto file as layered for an (adobe user) client. I understand that .tif is not an option for me so I tried using the PSD. However, when I export the file seem to reduce in size significantly. I've attached a screenshot so you can see the file size comparison. Original file size is 26MB, export size is around 4MB. Is there some setting I am missing so I can give my client an editable layered PSD file? Thanks.

    Export PSD

Hello! Even if you export PSD with settings that can edit design data in Affinity Designer, it will be objectized for each layer, and text data will be exported with all editing disabled state, so please help me! The software version is 1.6.1.
  21. As i can see right now i cant get PSD's with editable text layers from Affinity Designer. And i'm often asked for PSDs of stuff i'm designing. So i'd like to have like dropdown menu (like those that already are in PSD export dialogue) asking me if i want to export text as editable text layers or if i want it to be smart object or anything else.
  22. Using both Designer and Photo to create a document – it was exported as PSD – Photoshop does not recognize the file as being valid - tried opening with Painter with similar results. Attached are the messages. The file is a 2.6GB file - don't know if that would be affecting this. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thank you.
  23. I am new to affinity and am struggling. How do i view font information in PSDs. A graphic designer is sending me PSDS via my client, i think he creates them in photoshop, the client has assured me font information is contained in the PSDS. Font size, font family, h1, h2 info, stuff like that. I cannot see how to view this information and am becoming really frustrated at how difficult it is to access this basic information. Yes, i googled it, and i found this:(it embeded, it is above this message) It said to "With the file closed in Affinity, can you check under Preferences>General and make sure you have 'Import PSD as Text rather than bitmap' ticked and then reopen the file. You should then be able to select the text and edit it." so i have done that and someone else says " If you use the move tool (arrowhead symbol) and click on the text itself you'll see the font and text size displayed." but still for the life of me cannot see the font family, size and h1 h2 etc. I have attached a screenshot, this is me having clicked the text and in the right handside panel it just says "no style" Please someone help me, it is driving me crazy right now. Thanks a lot in advance!
  24. Hey everyone! I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a limitation of the .psd file type, but when using the layer blend mode "Transfer", opening exported .psd files from Affinity Designer (maybe Photo as well?) will not have the layer blend mode set to "Transfer", nor can I change any layer's mode to "Transfer". Is this layer blend mode specific to Affinity software? (I am using Designer 1.6.0.) If so, is there a way to approximate the effect of the "Transfer" layer mode? I am trying to export files for using in Procreate with the layers not being flattened. Best wishes, Shu
  25. I export a psd file in Affinity Designer but the fonts change to pixel layer and didn't edit.
