I opened up a PSD in AP and single lines of text import correctly but multi-line text seems to have the values stripped and all the lines collapse on top of each other. Basically the "leading" is set to zero but even if I go in and change the leading value, nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise. Thank you. -
I don’t know how difficult it is to make it possible to save PSD files with editable text layers instead of rasterizing them. This is the one feature that keeps me from doing my design work totally on my iPad without Photoshop. I have a client that needs the ability to edit the text before it goes to print because of data that is not available when I’m working on the job (ie product catalog numbers). So my current workflow is I do all of the design layout, drawing, photo editing on my iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil, then export as a PSD, and then add all the text layers in Photoshop on my laptop. Of course there may not be a high demand for this feature. -
This may be already requested by somebody before. But just in case, texture & pattern overlay effect won't be imported when opening a psd. -
PSD/ABR issue on iPad - iOS bug?

I know this problem is known issue. But this happens with many combination of apps but just Affinity. So is this iOS bug, or not? I'm often asked this but not sure if it's Affinity's problem, because it happens with other combination like Procreate & Photoshop as well. -

Hello, I am new to Affinity Photo. I am trying to save a .afphoto document in .PSD format. It does successfully export the file but for some reason only the background layer gets deleted. When I open the .PSD file again in Affinity Photo the background layer is not visible. Can someone help me with this? Also, I've made the switch to Affinity Photo recently and I've been loving it. Thank you. -
When I export PSD and open it, group layer's blending mode become Normal even though it was set to Pass Through.

We're aware of an issue where PSD files are greyed out when trying to open/import them into our iPad apps. This is happening because you have opened PSD files into another iPad app and the .PSD file extension is now associated to that app. If you've opened .PSD files into an another iPad app such as Adobe Fresco, you will need to temporarily uninstall that app. Once uninstalled you will be able to open/import PSD files into our apps. Once PSD files are associated with our app you can then reinstall the other app again if needed. This issue is logged with our developers.-

Is it possible to export affinity designer to PSD file with editable text? If yes, how? -
Hi, I work in product photography and my clients need all their images clipped with the clipping path tool and also want to image delivered in TIF/PSD format including the clipping path. I usually work with Photoshop but are ready to jump ship since I am fed up with all the bugs in Photoshop. To make the jump I need to somehow export the clipping path I create in Affinity Photo within the PSD/TIF export so the client can just open it and see the path. Is there any workaround to export the clipping path in a file? Thank you! -
Hi I have problem with correct printing with transparent elements. On a page are embedded pdf logo and few embedded psd with transparency and shadow fx. Printing on PS color laser printer without "Clip Transparency" I got a rectangle (lighter/darker) around each object and no shadow effect! Sample attached - print1.png = pdf logo Then print with selected "Clip Transparency". Is better. Although still poorly you will see a rectangle around the object and no shadow effect! Sample attached - print2.png, print3.png and corresponding - screenshot.png I find that the best way is to export to pdf and print pdf, however can I print without boxes around objects and with visible shadow effect? Is there any way when opening a psd file to be able to have text layers editable rather than as pixel data. I receive psd files from designers that I turn into websites and I need to be able to select the text and find out the font name, style, weight etc... -
I've attached a test.psd file which I've created using Photopea. Font used is Rothman (free). I've this font installed in my system. This is how the test file should appear. If I open the same PSD file in Affinity apps, it immediately warns that Document contains missing fonts! Is this a bug? I tried opening this PSD in Photoshop and faced no issues. test.psd

Hey there, So I cannot cannot open my PSD files...I’m using the (updated) IPad 2018 and the newest Version of Affinity. I want to import them from my iPad ( not cloud, Dropbox etc) . (The psd files are mockups with multiple layers.) The thumbnails are fainted so I can’t even click on them.. can anyone help me please ? THANK YOU ❤️

I have enable psd smart object and import the psd mockup. However the quality of the photo is lose and turn dim a little bit. What’s wrong with that? I have seen layout and smart object work. Just the quality different. -
Please check "Custom Levels" and "Brightness/Contrast" layers on both Photoshop and Affinity to see the difference. Levels applied in Photoshop only to Red, Green and Blue channels (not to Master) are not present in Affinity Photo. Brightness/Contrast applied in Photoshop (with the "Legacy" checkbox on) have different values and a completely different look. custom_levels.psd -
I have applied a BW adjustment to the vector layer. If you try to copy the layer (CMD+C) , Photo crashes immediately. With the BW adjustment turned off, it does not crash. (Photo 1.8.4 • MacOS 10.15.6 • iMac Pro) NOTE: you might need to deselect and select again the vector layer before it crashes EDIT: I could not reproduce this on my 16-inch 2019 MBP EDIT: I could not reproduce this on my 15-inch 2012 MBP (Retina) crash-on-vector-layer-copy.afphoto -
Exporting to PSD, a checkbox in the extended export options is "Compatibility Mode." Compatibility with what, and are there tradeoffs to be aware of aside from compatibility with... whatever. Did look in the help file and did not find any guidance there. Cheers -

Hello, I can't import .psd file to Affinity designer(ipad). In the import page, I can't choose .psd file. If I choose .psd file in my folder, it will force to open in Procreate. Even if I export .psd from AD, I can't import it. Is there any solution? :( AD ver.1.8.3 ipad ver. 13.5

Would you be able to implement text encoding conversion of layer name on PSD import? Some of popular graphics app are still using non-utf so file made by them become gibberish in Affinity. Such as SAI which uses SJIS encoding. http://systemax.jp/en/sai/ Please check the sample on Photoshop so you can see correct result. Dear developers, I downloaded this mockup pack, and I opened .PSD's in Photo, but mockups crashed. I tried in Ps CS3, and showed perfect. Im loving Affinity, great job. I am however trying to integrate it into a larger workflow using Cinema4D and Unity3D. Its great that I can open up a .psd into affinity but I want to be able to save as a .psd each time without having to export and save a separate file. I deal with hundreds of files like this and it is very slow and much more complicated to export separate .psd's. Unfortunately there is no support for Affinity in 3D apps and doesn't look there will (or ever will be). This could be solved if files could simple be saved .psd. Is there any way of saving .psd without export? Thank You! -
