  1. Hey Affinity team ! I love your photo editing software and I'd enjoy a lot if you did a video editing software ! It would be amazing ! Thanks for reading. LZ
  2. Hi All, I am looking to purchase Affinity Photo Software to replace Adobe Photoshop. I have the below questions.1.) Can we use Existing Photoshop Plugins ( Like Nik, Topaz, Neat Image etc) ?2.) Can I save the image in a TIFF Format with layers in tact and continue to use the same ?3.) Is Affinity photo 16 bit or 8 Bit processing software ?4.) Are the shortcuts in Photoshop same as Affinity Photo ?5.) Are the future upgrades from Affinity Photo Free ? Can someone help me to the right resource to learn Affinity Photo as well ?
  3. Currently a Mac user but switching to Windows in a couple weeks and wondered if there's any upcoming sales or promotions planned with extra add-ons included or a discounted price. I'm not in a rush to purchase since I can't use the software yet, but some sites are still offering black Friday deals and I'd buy it now if it was on sale or there were extra downloads included. Thanks!
  4. Hi Affinity – I have a new laptop and would like to download my Affinity Photo and Designer apps to it. All Mac platforms I read how to do that via the Mac App Store in one of your threads but unfortunately I had to change my Apple ID so I cannot access it through the Purchased Tab. Can you help me find another way? Regards Carole Havercroft (GryphonArt)

  6. I have had the trial version of Affinity for several days now. I can't seem to find where you offer any frames, the stuff you can add to a photo. Is there any in Affinity? More important is this question. Does Affinity have an ORGANIZER to which I can upload images from my camera to Affinity? Or, do I have to use Affinity only as a second software application for editing? Thanks for any help.
  7. Hi all, I'm new using AP and I'm reading some tutorials in order to learn how to use it. There is something that I need to get sorted out as soon as possible and I don't find the way to do it after reading other publications in this forum... maybe you may help me.. I have different fonts in .otf format that I would like to apply to AP for Windows but it brings me crazy because I don't find any specific fonts folder within the Affinity folder and I'm not sure where should I copy the fonts to be uploaded them. My apologies if I'm asking something very simple but I'm 100% beginner using image editing programs. Thanks a mil, Lidia
  8. When I start a new document with a non transparent background the BG is shown in white ... when adding a pixel layer now BG is shown white but the thumbnail shows the BG in black (or similar). Is this a bug? From my understanding unless the BG is NOT transparent there needs to be some kind of BG colour (and consequently some kind of "layer" containing this colour). Even if only a textlayer is applied the BG is exported as shown (white). Is it some kind of imaginative BG that still is exported but can't be edited nor it is shown in the layers list and where I can't choose the colour of? This seems not easy to understand and somehow inconsistent to me. Maybe I did not fully understand the concept? Cheers, Timo (latest Beta)
  9. Hi, I just started using the program but throughout several video tutorials I have come to notice that I don't have the "New Live Filter" option on my Layer menu. Any ideas on why isn't it showing? And how can I get it to show? I'm currently running version 1.5.4 Thank you!
  10. I am new to Affinity Photo and so far I really enjoy the software. I am using Affinity for Mac, on my Macbook Air. I would like to set the default for my photos to open in AP at 100%. I cannot figure out to set it as the default. Can someone please help me out on this.
  11. Hi there, I'm new here, starting a project right away, I'm sure I'll b back here in the forums 4 help in the near future, so thanks in advance :)
  12. I'd like to see a trim tool (select line(s), will delete line(s)_ up to another line). CorelDRAW has one that works really well. Here is a video showing the feature. thanks and great job so far.
  13. Hello everyone! I would like to request a feature that doesn't seem to be included in Affinity Photo. In Photoshop, you can use an additional key (I think it's alt) to move the opposing crop border as well as the one you're moving with the cursor. This way, symmetryical cropping can be achieved. Can you inclide this feature in a future release? Or is this already included and I just don't know how to use it? On a Mac, cmd would probably make sense since the "Move Tool" already includes that behaviour (mirroring border movement) when using cmd. Best wishes, Shu

  15. Hi!! in a litter time using Affinity, i achived to desing that.
  16. I've read there's a "new color picker" (eyedropper) in AD 1.5 (source). That's really great news. ...but i don't see any improvements to that thing. And i can't find more information about it. How to use the new one? What's the hot key? Why there are no details about it?
  17. Hi guys, I'm new here to the forum and new to affinity designer. So far I'm loving the software, however I seemed to have ran into a bit of a problem, It's kind of hard to explain but, whenever I draw something with the pen tool on a new layer it always starts out with no fill, I click on the “use fill” check box which seems to solve the problem temporarily, but then when I draw another shape in the same layer the settings goes back to no fill & no stroke on the new shape and I have to click 'use fill' again. Also when I go to edit a shape that I previously made, the fill and stroke disappear and the settings just automatically reset to no fill & no stroke, and I have to go back and choose the colour I had previously... is there anyway to fix this? And is there any way I can use the fill option by default without having to click it every time I make a new shape?
  18. I'm new to affinity, trying it out to see if I like it. But I'm struggling here.... How do you delete or erase part of a line segment in a shape? I have two overlapping shapes, and I want to make them into one and delete the overlap. I rasterized the shape, but is there a way to un-rasterize it in its new form? Or is there a way to get a cleaner cut from a line segment with out it being pixelated in the first place?
  19. Hello! My names Matt and I work for retail company that designs fashion products. ( I work in It please excuse my poor design lingo) We have recently been looking at Affinity designer as an alternative to Photoshop. It looks like a great product and we are hoping to roll it out to about 20 users. Background info: We currently use Photoshop an Illustrator CS5 We do not use much of the adobe suite Some users do very basic tasks - changing colours, resizing minor editing. During testing we had a few of the designers come down to try out the trial. The more experienced users got to grips with most of the basics but they had some issues with the following: Creating brushes was very difficult for them - Before they would make a small drawing using the brush tool in illustrator (a stitch pattern for instance) and then they would turn that into a brush.I have attached an example of the pages that they would use as brushes. The issue is when opened Affinity creates layers of every single little line (or stitch) this makes it very difficult to select them as a whole - is there an easy way in affinity to take these patterns and turn them into a brush? I tried basic dragging and dropping into the brush window but that didn't work very well! Another issue that the users faced was filling an area with colour, They would select a line by clicking on it or selecting a few lines that create a whole shape - how would they fill this? in Photoshop they found this a lot easier - is there a particular way in affinity to fill an area that has been outlined by lines? I do apologies in advance for anything that's unclear and please let me know if you'd like some more information and I will explain it as best I can. I can also try and find some example files that may help to explain. Matt. knitwear brushes.eps
  20. Its my first design in Affinity. I'm always using Photoshop. This is a Vector Picture made in Honor of MnB89 I only use the mouse of my computer to do this. Estimated Time: 2 Hours. I wish that u like !!! #Affinity
  21. Hi, I just bought your software yesterday and am excited to learn it. I have never used Photoshop or anything else, so I am starting from scratch. I tried to download your sample photos to learn from, but when I clicked on them a RED X came up where they should have downloaded. I don't know what I did wrong. Anyway, is there someplace where I can learn what all the software terms mean ? I have watched your Beginners video on Vimeo and it helped a lot but I am a bit overwhelmed right now. Thank you for making this software. I have left my photos in iPhoto and am running Yosemite. I do not like the new Photos app and have been looking for some software that would work with iPhoto. Affinity Photo looks like a beautiful program and I look forward to learning it...
  22. Hello! I just began on this new application and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I am sure that when I get some fundamental basics out of the way, I can refer to other tutorials for further detail. This may sound stupid, but I cannot figure out how to fill color into the objects I create or how to properly snap loose points together. Those are the only two things I have run into trouble with so far. Does anybody have a link to a basic tutorial or a reply on how to find and use the fill tool?
  23. Why is it whenever I hit the view new content area ( words View new Content) upper right.⬈↗︎ I always get the message no new content? But There is new content... Why? WHY?

  25. Dear all, Not sure if the function is already available - at least I'm not finding at (but don't let that be a reference :-)). I used to work with Photoshop and what I personally miss the most, is that - when opening a new file - the dimensions of the copied/cutted image isn't auto suggested. When I now use Affinity for designing a website, it's always an added value that I cut/copy an image from an other page and when I click "New", that Affinity is already suggesting the correct/same dimensions as the cute/copied file. Hope the above explanation is a bit clear? Anyone facing this 'issue' and found a solution? Thanks! Niels
