  1. Hello, I just downloaded Affinity today and it came with a free Macro-pak which I also downloaded. When I follow the instructions to import the files it says no files found although I can see the files when I search my files through windows, I am pointing to the correct folder but it just does not seem to be able to see them, can someone help me?
  2. Does anyone know the best way to create a watermark on a transparent background? I've been able to create a watermark on an individual photo. However, I'd like to design a watermark that I can use on every photo I create. Selling my photos online is my goal; but I don't want to post any photos unless they have a watermark on them. Zenfolio allows its users to add a watermark. If I could create a single watermark on a transparent background, then Zenfolio would add the watermark to each photograph. I haven't had any luck using the clipboard. Also, is there a way to create a macro of a watermark? That would be helpful because you could create a macro and then use in batch processing. Could anyone shed some light on this issue? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  3. In PS, I have a one key action that inserts a text layer that I use as a watermark on photos that I post. I can have over 50 files so this is useful. I tried making a macro in Affinity and got the notice that: "Cannot record "add a frame text" My workaround is to create an Affinity file with the text layer and copy and past that layer but that involved more keystrokes. Any chance you developers are working on this?
  4. First I apologize if I am repeating things already asked for. I like the way macros allow me to automate things but in the future it would make the feature much more usable if more actions could be recordable Such as 1. nesting items within the layers panel 2. setting a fill with the gradient fill tool 3. select multiple objects/layers.
  5. What I'm wondering is if I create a macro that adds a bitmap texture will that texture be exported in the macro if I export it?
  6. It would be great if de macros functionality also was enable on affinity photo for iPad.
  7. Hello, I've been using Affinity Photo for working all our online shop product Photos and it does a wonderful job. Once in a while I need to create a Macro to simplify my process and the last one I created is Guides for a square picture in percentage, but it seems that when the crop is different the guides calculate badly and don't appear properly in the places I need them to go right on the percentage I've calculated, because If I have to create this macro for all the different crops in the world, well, there is not much sense in creating a macro, I just end up with a list of thousands different actions. Thank you for the great software you have created. It's a pleasure to use it every day. Best, Anelia
  8. I am unable to open Skies.afmacros; I am informed that it is the wrong file type! I would like to reinstall this zip file but I no longer have the original of the email! Can I be sent the link again please? When comparing file size I see that the file is much smaller than the other macros and has the pro word uplift which I assume is is wrong. I have all the up lift epic skies files however. Many thanks.
  9. Hola, Acabo de subir un tutorial sobre Macros y Personalización de Affinity Photo. Espero que os guste.
  10. Affinity Photo (Version 1.5.2) - April 27, 2017 Hello, We would like to build a Macro that includes different layers to build some sort of 3D image impressions including a separate background. Below you'll find the exact steps we've taken so far: A. MACRO PROCESSING 1) Drag and drop a .jpg image into Affinity Photo 2) Activate Macro 3) Document --> Resize Document to 560px x 395px, Units: Pixels, DPI: 450, Resample: Bilinear, Resample activated/ticked --> Resize 4) Document --> Resize Canvas --> 640px x 640px, Units: Pixels, Anchor: Center --> Resize 5) Click on image with cursor/arrow --> Document --> Flatten 6) Transform --> S: -3 Degrees 7) C&P image, switch to last layer and Transform --> S: +3 Degrees 8) Move edited image (of last/lowest layer) accordingly and enter H-Value with a Delta of -20px 9) Effects --> Gradient Overlay 10) Layer --> New Layer --> Arrange --> Move to Back 11) Choose Flood Fill Tool --> Click into empty area --> Effects --> Gradient Overlay --> Type: Radial 12) Document --> Flatten 13) Stop Recording Macro 14) Add To Library --> Enter Macro name and hit OK --> Don't save the document B. BATCH PROCESSING 1) File --> New Batch Job process and choose "Save as JPEG" While the above steps (1 – 14) work perfectly fine when doing everything manually in Affinity Photo, it doesn't so when executed via Macro. To see the difference between Manual vs. Macro refer to the ZIP-Attachment below. C. QUESTION How can we build a Macro so that the final image looks EXACTLY like the one shown under manual conditions? Thanks, Pat Macro.zip
  11. I love Affinity Designer, please keep up the good work. It's coming along nicely, but I have run into some basic usability issues that significantly slow down my workflow. I think these would be useful for most users. Please add some form of vector trace - I am still keeping other vector apps for just this 1 feature. The Selection Marquee can’t select layers within groups - can this be added as an option or to the direct selection tool. With large documents, finding and selecting multiple layers really slows down the workflow. When ungrouping from a hidden group the layers don’t become hidden (which I would prefer) and I have to do that manually. Can they stay hidden by default unless I unhide the group and then ungroup, Can I change the highlight colour In Export tab When zoomed out with alot of slices. I can’t tell which slices I have chosen unless I have them all both selected and ticked. Please enable macros - this would be useful for many repetitive tasks making long shadows for example Again thanks for a great application. These are just suggestions (apart from number 1).
  12. One of the strengths of PS is the huge community around PS Actions and the use of these. Are there any similar for Affinity Macros (I know of the Macro Pack, but that's is not what I'm looking for)? I assume that some/most of the Affinity Photo users are moving from Photoshop to Affinity Photo (or at least know what you can do in PS), so I would suggest that the Affinity Photo team create some examples of macros to show how to do the “same” things as some of the PS Actions. This would also encourage the Affinity Photo community to contribute to making Affinity Photo a true competitor to PS. For inspiration and examples of what I'm talking about, you can take a look at https://www.youtube.com/user/sevensmalltrix/videos and at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7n-z4UZScI9OEURz_i7H0Q/videos If this already exists somewhere, I apologize and ask you to point in the right direction to where I can find it.
  13. When I create a macro of my own, and apply it to a camera raw file that I've opened and developed, it works fine. However, when I try to apply that macro, or any macro for that matter in a batch process, it over exposes the file to an unusable point. Even simply batch processing a raw file to a TIFF or any other kind of file, without a macro, over exposes the photo. It seems as though the photos need to be developed, then batch processed...? Is this true and how can I process my raw files like he does in the videos?
  14. Hello Serif & especially Patrick, Please can you tell me when Actions are going to be added to Affinity Designer? Being able to create macros/Actions is going to save a tremendous amount of time when repeating a series of events. Please, please can you tell me if this is coming out in version 6? Peaches
  15. I'm finding the transition from PS/LR to Photo fairly painless and am quite happy overall with the tools & features within the program. There are 2 tools that currently are holding me back from cutting the cord to Adobe: Macros. While you've done a remarkable job packing features into the Macros panel and they are operating surprisingly fast, there are a few improvements I'm hoping are in the not too distant future: A) the ability to record clipping a layer to another layer; B) the ability to move steps around in a macro; C) the ability to delete a step in a macro. Keep up the good work on this important tool! Metadata. The ability to edit metadata is VERY important. While I can do so in another program, the ability to put in things like Title, Description, & keywords from within Photo would simplify my workflow tremendously. I'm hoping to see something of these requests before another year goes by doling out dough to Adobe.
  16. The new Macros option on iPad is really cool, but in my humble workflow I use only iPad so I have no option to create Macros on my Mac, and then import them to iPad. Additionally this will be pointless on the go, when I have only iPad with me. So there is my question: Is there a option to create and save Macros on iPad? I try to find it, but it seems there isn't, so if there will be?
  17. I downloaded and opened the free macro packs and followed the instructions that came via PDF but I am unable to find them. I'm pretty new to Affinity so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I went to both "library" and "macros" and nothing appeared.
  18. Hi All, I've used macros in PS from time to time and they certainly help speed up batch processing a bunch of images. I am still a beginner in this sense however, and I need help, pretty please... I have a bunch of png files, black silhouettes with transparent backgrounds, that I want to invert and give a black background to. I have made the macro (it's included in this attached file of standard macros) and it works when I test it on an individual file, but when it comes to batch processing the whole lot of files using this macro, they all come out black on white rather than white on black. Can someone help me please? Tone Mapping.afmacros
  19. I know you can untick a macro step. It would be good to be able to delete a step. It would also be good to re-order a macro and, or record a macro from a certain step.
  20. When I try to record a macro for resizing pictures to exact pixels, the macro records the transform process in terms of percentages applied to the resulting file. That's convenient, but it would also be convenient in exact number of pixels, regardless of the size of the initial file.
  21. Well... the subject :) I was searching help and online tutorials, but failed to find the definite answer. If it is not possible, please consider it as a feature reqiuest
  22. Hi, I am using AP to crop dozens of screenshots and wanted to automate that. I created several macros (due to different resolutions of the screenshots), but in no macro can I add the FILE > SAVE (or CMD+S) command. Even CMD+W after the cropping does not work, as when I click SAVE in the close dialog, AP says it will not save that stuff. The Macro Recorder says "Cannot record "Export document". Is that correct behaviour? If so, is it possible to add the SAVE command to macros in a future version of AP? Thanks and happy May the 1st.
  23. For me this is a "must be" feature for Affinity Photo. When I have for example 1000 raw's to develop one by one this app is unusable now I need to use another programs. I am sure that most of Affinity Photo users will want this feature badly.
  24. Hi When i try to record a macro in the windows version of Affinity Photo, I am unable to switch between layers. For example if I create 2 duplicates of my background layer, and make a high pass adjustment to the top layer, I am then unable to switch to the layer beneath to make another adjustment. Also, I am unable to change the name of any layers whilst the macro is recording. Any help much appreciated.
