  1. I found some old requests to add Macros to Affinity Designer, here, here and here, just starting new topic to make those requests live. I believe that Macros in AD will be appreciated by many users. Any comments from development team?
  2. Hello all ! I am Chrisas, a french student in graphic design and programming. I'm a user (BIG FAN) of Serif's softwares since October 2016. It really helped me in several fields such as logo design, illustration, web design, apparel and social media graphics. Since I started working with affinity designer and photo, I bought some specific resources I discovered after several days of research. But There was one problem, there is not a place to buy, sell or present resources for affinity softwares. I mean for illustrator and photoshop you can found thousands of stuff in any sorts related to them. Example : to present my work I sometimes have to open photoshop to use mockups ( i'm a mockup lover) but I always want to speedup my workflow so my idea is to create resources that will be useful for other creatives like me. I built some stuff for myself but I do not know what will be useful for you, what you need, and what you are looking for. For now, my aim is graphics pack about : assets, macros, colors palettes, styles, and mockups, uikits. The purpose is to make the work of creatives easier, faster and funnier. So here is my question , what kind of resources do you need ? I am open to any suggestions, so feel free to comment ! > An Illustration project I'm working on : https://prnt.sc/inpq5g > My dribbble : http://dribbble.com/chrisas > My Portfolio (5 months of work are missing x) ) http://behance.net/chrisas

    Astronomy macros

Now that I have made the switch to AP I am re-working many of my astrophotography macros. I will share them here with brief instructions and encourage others to share theirs. All my macros are for Windows OS This set of 3 takes the basic individual monochrome filtered R G and B images and converts each into a colour channel. Load each RGB file separately into AP, Run the respective macro and copy the output of each into a single AP layered document, then set the blend mode of each to add This will output a single RGB non white balanced file grey to blue.afmacro grey to green.afmacro grey to red.afmacro
  4. En esta ocasión, quiero compartir con vosotros mi último tutorial: Marca de Agua con Affinity Photo. Espero que sea de vuestro interés.
  5. Hi, I saw an earlier thread with someone having problems installing macro packs. Read that but I still have problems. My downloaded packs have the extension afmacros but when trying to import on my desktop version it seems Affinity wants files with the extension afmacro (without the s). So quite logically Affinity says it can't find anything to install best regards //Eva
  6. Would be good if we could record the renaming of spare channels within a macro.
  7. I am trying to install the bonuses but when I try to send them to my iPad, it says "sent" but they do not appear on my iPad. When I try to import, there is nothing in recent. I install and import with all kinds of other apps but I am perplexed with this one. Help is appreciated.
  8. In the last 24 hours I've recently dived in head first with the macOS and iOS versions of Affinity Photo. I feel like this is something I've been waiting for since the iPad came out and just realized this week the iOS version can run macros let alone macros made on the desktop version. I am beyond thrilled however I'm running into a few issues I was hoping someone could help me with. I'm attempting to create a macro that will make a layer mask based upon a selection which is essentially selecting out people in a photo. When I make a macro so far it will always repeat the same selections which if that's the best it can do for now then I can work with that however I'm hoping there's an option that when the macro is ran it'll prompt the user to make their own selection and would be even better if this would also work similarly on iOS but not holding my breath on that just yet. Is there a way to have a macro ask the user to do something at this stage of development? If not are there any good workarounds and would those work on iOS? Also is it just me or do some filters (Only thing I've really noticed so far) work differently depending on if it's ran on iOS vs desktop with same settings on same image? Perlin Noise is something I'm working into a macro and it just seems to blend better on iOS but with same exact settings on macOS it has to be heavily modified to reach something similar when ideally I'd like to have the same result on each platform. Edit: So I see there's some actions that have settings next to them and within that there's an eye that can be clicked that will prompt a user so is there a way to have this come up for a selection or to mask something on a layer? Any help is appreciated.
  9. I have a few questions relating to Macros on both Mac & iOS devices. My first question is also a testimonial to what really won me over to Affinity Photo this week. I was editing a photo taking in a living room on my iPad in Affinity Photo and was trying the macros out and ended up with a photo that now looks like it was taken in a studio. I recreated what I did on the iPad on my mac and turned it into a macro but there's one major issue I have. My macro creates a layer mask of for the people in the photo and this overall macro is one I'd like to reuse however I can't for the life of me figure out how to have it ask to make a selection when ran and would that also work on the iPad? In case that's not clear I'd like to run a macro on either device and if part of that macro requires a selection to be made have it prompt me to make one. Secondly I accidentally imported the same macro in twice and created a duplicate and did not see an easy way to delete the duplicated live macros. I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling but this seems a bit drastic especially as time goes on and with the additional macros we can import now from desktop version would like to see a way to manage these on the iPad. Lastly will there be a way to create macros from the iPad itself in the future? I'm honestly blown away by the ability to create macros and effortlessly sync them to the iPad and I didn't even realize this was possible until this week. While I've owned both Mac & iOS versions of Affinity Photo this is what really caused me to push aside other apps. This is amazing.
  10. I had a quick look to see if this had already been requested. My mild OCD makes me wince a little everytime I look at the brushes list and I can't do anything about sorting it, Macros I can live with by dragging :-)
  11. I would like to have a shortcut to select the layer below or above the currently selected layer. In Affinity Photo I was able to create a macro which does exactly that. However, I couldn't find a way to assign a shortcut to this macro. So my wish is to either have: 1) a separate menu item to select a layer below or above the currently selected layer 2) a method to assign shortcuts to individual macros
  12. I'm trying to find the equivalent of Photoshop's filter gallery function on Affinity Photo. Let's say I want a frozen ice sculpture look in Affinity Photo. How would I go about doing this without the filter gallery? Would I use custom macros for this?
  13. B&W images can have many different facets and moods for a given motive, so it always also depends on the intended expression that they should convey. Here are a few (six) different B&W conversion macros for tryouts and to play with. - You may have to customize their settings to your individual needs, since not all input images are the same. 14. One of the great things about Photoshop is its actions. There is a big market in this that is a real challenge for Affinity to crack. Other programs, such as On1 Photo Raw, have very easy to use presets. Affinity seems in its early days with basic macros and single-adjustment presets. However this also means that there is opportunity to overtake Adobe with a more sophisticated 'recipe' system. Things to include: Scalable images of recipes as applied. Nested system so you are not faced with all recipes at once yet can have many on tap without overwhelm as you search for the one you want. Use of tags so you can search as well as browse for recipes. The ability to edit recipes, possibly in a text format. Ability to post a pop-up box at any time, including for choices, sliders and simple text messages. It's possible that a new format is needed for this, beyond presets and macros. [historical note: back in the 80s I implemented a macro system on an HP wordprocessor. Customers loved it. It was also really helpful as an automatic test system!]
  15. Hello, I just downloaded Affinity today and it came with a free Macro-pak which I also downloaded. When I follow the instructions to import the files it says no files found although I can see the files when I search my files through windows, I am pointing to the correct folder but it just does not seem to be able to see them, can someone help me?
  16. Hi, In the right-click context menu on layers there is a Mask to Below which doesn't seem to be accessible from the main menu. Since the right-click menu is disabled while recording Macros, it means that this function can not be recorded in Macros, however It would be really useful. Please add a way to run this command during Macro recording and have it recorded. As a separate request please make it possible to assign a hotkey to the "Mask to Below" function.
  17. In PS, I have a one key action that inserts a text layer that I use as a watermark on photos that I post. I can have over 50 files so this is useful. I tried making a macro in Affinity and got the notice that: "Cannot record "add a frame text" My workaround is to create an Affinity file with the text layer and copy and past that layer but that involved more keystrokes. Any chance you developers are working on this?
  18. First I apologize if I am repeating things already asked for. I like the way macros allow me to automate things but in the future it would make the feature much more usable if more actions could be recordable Such as 1. nesting items within the layers panel 2. setting a fill with the gradient fill tool 3. select multiple objects/layers.
  19. What I'm wondering is if I create a macro that adds a bitmap texture will that texture be exported in the macro if I export it?
  20. It would really help speed up my workflow if it was possible to record macros on the iPad version of Affinity Photo. I'm really hoping to see this feature in the next updates.
  21. Hello, I've been using Affinity Photo for working all our online shop product Photos and it does a wonderful job. Once in a while I need to create a Macro to simplify my process and the last one I created is Guides for a square picture in percentage, but it seems that when the crop is different the guides calculate badly and don't appear properly in the places I need them to go right on the percentage I've calculated, because If I have to create this macro for all the different crops in the world, well, there is not much sense in creating a macro, I just end up with a list of thousands different actions. Thank you for the great software you have created. It's a pleasure to use it every day. Best, Anelia
  22. Does anyone know the best way to create a watermark on a transparent background? I've been able to create a watermark on an individual photo. However, I'd like to design a watermark that I can use on every photo I create. Selling my photos online is my goal; but I don't want to post any photos unless they have a watermark on them. Zenfolio allows its users to add a watermark. If I could create a single watermark on a transparent background, then Zenfolio would add the watermark to each photograph. I haven't had any luck using the clipboard. Also, is there a way to create a macro of a watermark? That would be helpful because you could create a macro and then use in batch processing. Could anyone shed some light on this issue? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  23. I am unable to open Skies.afmacros; I am informed that it is the wrong file type! I would like to reinstall this zip file but I no longer have the original of the email! Can I be sent the link again please? When comparing file size I see that the file is much smaller than the other macros and has the pro word uplift which I assume is is wrong. I have all the up lift epic skies files however. Many thanks.
  24. Hola, Acabo de subir un tutorial sobre Macros y Personalización de Affinity Photo. Espero que os guste.
  25. Today, let’s have fun with Gradient Maps… Gradient Maps are a great way to color grade photos, since they map dark, light, and midtone values according to a pre-defined gradient. This can easily define a “look” for photos that might otherwise be hard to accomplish. Although I am not a user of Photoshop, our “arch rival” has a wonderful group of gradient maps called “Photographic Toning” that are specifically designed to color grade photos. Although you have to drill down through a few panels and dialog boxes to find them (and you sort of have to know they’re there in the first place) they are a truly nice addition. Also, they are easily obtained by anyone. But, as they say, there’s the rub. Affinity Photo cannot import Photoshop gradient maps. Affinity Photo can store pre-defined gradients in the Swatches studio, but for some unknown reason the stored gradients are not available from the Gradient Map studio panel. Gradient Maps can be stored as presets, and can be chosen from the Adjustments panel, but I don’t believe they can be easily exported from one computer and brought into a different one. So… after a long couple of days of transcription, I have created a set of Macros that apply each of the 38 Photographic Toning gradient maps. Since macros are easy to store, and to share, I am making them available for anyone who wants them. There are actually 2 sets of Macros included - each as an easy-to-import Category from the Library panel. The first group of Macros is called “Photographic Toning Gradients” and these are named according to the gradient map they apply. Each macro creates a Gradient Map layer, applies the appropriate color values, and names the layer according to the gradient map it applied. The second set of macros is called “Photographic Toning Gradients - reduced.” This category also applies the gradient maps in a similar fashion, but then reduces the opacity of the layer to 30%. This reduces the effect of the Gradient Map, and produces a much subtler effect. Here is an image that shows the full-strength versions of all 38 gradient maps. And here is a photo to which I’ve applied a full-strength gradient map, and also a reduced-strength gradient map. These macro categories are included in the ZIP file attached to this post, along with a Letter sized JPG that includes samples of the gradient maps. Also included in the ZIP file is another macro category that includes one more macro. It’s called “Obama Hope Poster” and, as you might have guessed, it turns any photo into an Obama Hope-style poster. Just because… Please enjoy them! Photographic Toning Gradient Maps.zip
