  1. I'm very new to Affinity Photo so am getting to know where it really shines and where it falls short. By no means was I adept at Photoshop, but I found it essential for recording Actions. Unfortunately I've run into some issues using Affinity Photo's Macros in Batch jobs. The main one being that if I have a folder full of images that are in different aspect ratios (3:2, 4:3) it seems I am unable to record a Macro that resizes to a specific width or height ONLY. When I record a Macro and resize a 4:3 file to say 800px wide, with the size locked the height of course becomes 600px. If I run that Macro as a Batch on the folder of mixed aspect ratio images, the images that are in 3:2 ratio are resized to 800px x 600px, so they're badly distorted. So the Macro records the dimensions of BOTH edges when the resizing takes place, rather than only the edge you actually edit (as is the case in Photoshop). Is there an obvious solution to this that I am missing?
  2. I’m trying to record a macro that will resize the canvas from the center by adding a specified amount on each side. Started Recording: Used my shortcut for Resize Canvas Clicked on Center for the Anchor Clicked on the Lock to open it Clicked in the right side of the width box and entered +1.5 Clicked in the right side of the height box and entered +1.5 Clicked on Resize Stopped Recording: Saved to Library And when I click on it in the Library, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? What am I not understanding about the process?
  3. I would like to have a shortcut to select the layer below or above the currently selected layer. In Affinity Photo I was able to create a macro which does exactly that. However, I couldn't find a way to assign a shortcut to this macro. So my wish is to either have: 1) a separate menu item to select a layer below or above the currently selected layer 2) a method to assign shortcuts to individual macros

  10. Affinity Photo and current/former Adobe users: Is there any way to recreate the effect of the Adobe PS>Filter Gallery>Dry Brush using Affinity Photo? If anyone has insight into the Affinity version of Adobe’s Smart Blur, that would be appreciated as well. Basically, I’m trying to translate some PS Actions into AP Macros, but there are a couple of PS specific steps that I don’t know the Affinity equivalents for. Anyone that speaks both languages would be helpful. I also know that AP for iPad doesn’t create Macros. I’ll be translating on desktop to hand off to little sister on iPad. IMG_0430.MP4

  17. Hi, I am trying to batch process a set of files. I like to convert RAW files to TIFF and be able to set various pre-recorded (marco) parameter that are available in the development persona (things like Development Assistant and basic, lens, details, tones) My challenge is that I cannot see how I can record a macro under the development persona. I know how to do it under Photo persona (->view ->studio ->macros) but cannot see how to record the parameters I want to control in development persona (only not Photo persona) and then run onto a batch of files. Under Development Persona if you go to ->view ->studio there is no macros options. An actual example would be much appreciated thank you Arnim

  19. Hello. I'm trying to recreate some Photoshop actions in Affinity Photo and I'm having a problem with Blend Options in Affinity. Could someone explain to me how to translate Photoshop's "Blend If" into Affinity Photo's "Blend Options"? A specific example in the screenshots below. I tried importing a simple PSD project with this very setting on one of the layers, but it didn't work. The setting Photo reproduced was quite bizzare (created many nodes and pushed them all to the bottom of the Source Layer matrix, making the object/layer invisible). I would love some help. Is it possible to translate this setting to produce the exact same result in Photo?
  20. The download instructions for the free macro pack say "Just click the download button to get your free macro pack. To install, open the .afmacros file or alternatively import from your Library panel." If I try to open a .afmacros file, I get a 'Failed to open file' dialog that tells me, "The file is not an Affinity document."
  21. It'll be cool to be able to assign keyboard shortcuts for macros - the workflow would improve quite a lot! Anyone?
  22. I'm new to Affinity Photo so please forgive me if this is quite elementary. I did a search of the forums here to see if anything similar has been asked before, but saw nothing. Is there a way to make a macro automatically trigger just after opening an image? I created a macro to duplicate the base image layer and set it as the "original" untouched image, then create a group called "Edit" with the duplicated Background layer inside where I do all my edits. This is to make it easy to do a before and after comparison. I would like that macro to run for each image I open in Affinity Photo without needing to click it manually every time. Thanks in advance!
  23. That isn't exactly true, they don't run if I click on the macro in the library panel but they will play if I right click, select edit macro, then click the play icon. What am I missing here. I watched the video on the uplift epic skies and the macro ran when he clicked on it in the library panel. Edit: I left out my OS version. It is 10.12.6. Also attaching a screen shot to show what I get when I run the macro from the edit column. Notice the uplift clouds layer and all it says is Sample description text so clearly it isn't working. I have reinstalled it several times and still behaves the same. None of the macros in the library will run.
  24. This is my first post I'm new to this forum. Ive tried and looked for hours to find out how to save all my adjustment layers to Preset(s). From my understanding you have to save each layer and label it. For example, adjusting and then saving the Vibrance as a preset and naming it. After saving each layer preset on my finished picture and labeling them, I opened up another photo, which I want to have the exact same adjustments. I clicked on all the custom layer adjustment presets I just made but the picture doesn't turn out the same in the end? Even though when I click on each preset (in the new photo that I want to look like the previous) it says its tweaked the same as the one I saved, but the photo still looks drastically different? Do all NOT adjustments transfer over? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to do this? (and im not talking about the background people photoshopped out, im aware of that) THANK YOU for reading this, this is so frustrating and it makes me want to switch back to Lightroom. (the picture without people is the look i want, the picture with people is what happens when i click on all the saved presets for the finished picture)
  25. It would be a must to be able to assing a keyboard shortcut to a macro, this avoids to open library (by means of Menu-View->Studio->Library ot a shortcut - I use Alt-L) every time a use a frequently used macro
