  1. In Preferences > User Interface there is an option Show Selection in Layers Palette For some reason the explanation for this item is missing from the Preference Panel > User Interface section in Help. I have tried checking and unchecking it and performing various selection functions whilst watching the Layers Palette and am quite unable to determine what this preference does. It's not life threatening, but the fact that I cannot work out what this does is like an itch I can't scratch. ;) Could someone please enlighten me ......? Thanks.
  2. When I opened up an existing project in build 1.5.0.9 and added a couple of text layers, I got the intermittent scrollbar weirdness shown in the attached GIF animation.
  3. I had a blank page with three ellipses all with different colours and had all selected. I tried to select the layers panel tab to open the layers panel and got an error then the program crashed.
  4. I am completely baffled as to why my layers panel is missing in each persona in my Affinity Designer apt. I have tried everything that I can think of to recover it. It had such a layers panel when I first started using it, but now seems to not have one. I have tried separated mode, and turned it off. I have tried creating layers, and probably have been successful doing it with the menu. However, I am not sure of what layers there are since I have no LAYERS PANEL. It has caused no end of frustration, and is the only thing that really bothers me about this otherwise excellent apt. Help please. I have attached a screen shot of what I have to work with in the apt. I am getting some work done, but the absence of the LAYERS PANEL is tough going.screen shot of Affinity designer.pdfscreen shot of Affinity designer.pdf
  5. As far as I am able to tell, this facility is only accessible via the contextual menu on an object. My understanding of the intent for a contextual menu is it should only present options which are also accessible via the normal menu hierarchy. I have been unable to locate it there and it doesn't appear to be listed anywhere in the shortcut preferences either. Maybe just a simple omission but it would be handy.
  6. Hi there, Whenever I am in Export Persona and a want to export a different set of layers I have to switch back to Photo Persona, choose my layers (make what I want to be visible or not) and then switch again to Export Persona... Is there a quick way to do that? The Layers panel does not seem to be working as I need in Export Persona or I am doing something wrong? Thanks for any thought, Rodrigo.af
  7. Hello, Could you explain the signification of the very little triangles on the right in the layers panel (see attachment)? I find no mention of this in the help of Affinity Designer. Thanks.
  8. Software : Affinity Designer 1.3.2 (in French) under 10.8 macOS Subject : The Layers panel change suddenly. Observation: I load my document with three layer groups. The layers panel shows a triangle to the left of each of the three names. Suddenly, the panel has changed without reason. The triangle to the left of the group name has disappeared and a small triangle has appeared to his right. It became impossible to develop any group. I can not find documentation on this. Can you explain what is happening? Thank you in advance. Attached : two screenshots. Sorry for my English, I only speak French.
  9. The two options for layers should be accessible from the layer label. Now there is a checkbox to show or hide a layer which is easy to work with. The lock functionality has to be accessed from the top of the panel. It seems more logical to have a locked/unlocked icon to enable or disable the lock state. Of course, having a closed/open eye for the visibility state would be nice in that case. PS: funny thing is that it is possible to unlock a layer by clicking the lock-icon. But you can't lock it clicking in the same spot...
  10. Hello--I inadvertently lost my right hand panel for layers, history, navigation, etc. Can you help please? Context Toolbar is checked and left panel is displayed. Thanks.
  11. I must have closed my Layers Panel and I can't get it back. Please help! Thanks!
  12. The (fx) icon is already there. Just turn it into a switch for turning all effects on and off on a single click, and make it open the Effects Panel on a double click. Clicking on it and sliding down through a bunch of layers with FX on should turn them all off as they're slid over. Doing the same over FX that are turned off should turn them on.
  13. Hi! Designer here. I'm doing mainly mobile application design, often huge projects with a lot of elements on every screen. AD is so incredibly performant that I'd love to switch from PS. To get this out of the way: Thanks for the great work. So much potential! Looking forward to the future of Affinity Designer. Now the three things that would make AD a lot better for my personal workflow, I mentioned them on Twitter and I got told to post them here. So here you go. 1) Show selected layer in layers panel My workflow is based on folders and layers and their position to each other. In Photoshop it's easy to jump to a specific layer in the layers panel by clicking with ALT+RMB on the desired layer. What this does is to expand every folder in the layers panel and jump to the right place where the selected layer is. Sketch solves this by allowing the user to decide if a folder is "click-through" or not. Some way to do this in AD would be amazing. I'd be perfectly happy with Photoshop's solution. Alt+RMB = Show layer in layer panel and I'm a happy chap. 2) Full pixel snapping I described it here. Even with snapping to pixels active, AD doesn't snap to full pixels but to 1.0 and 1.5. Only full pixels would make a lot of work a lot easier. 3) Bonus: Artboards I'm quite sure this has been mentioned in this forum a lot. Nevertheless, just throwing in my opinion: AD has such an impressive performance that it's the only program out there I have confidence in to do artboards right. Sketch's UI for artboards is great, their performance is mediocre. An AD artboard solution would rock my world. Thanks for consideration and sorry if I broke any kind of forum rule. First post! Marcel
