Hi team, I'm fairly new to the app and really loving it so far. However I'm really stumped on this one! I cannot seem to be able to edit a photo that I had previously been editing, upon leaving and then returning to the photo in Affinity Photo for iPad! Nothing seems to work no matter what I try! I've even tried to add new layers; to no avail. I've made sure that all layers ARE unlocked and are editable. But to no avail. Would really appreciate some assistance on this one. Cheers, Andy. -
I have a dropbox folder with something like 200 assets in svg and am trying to import them. Here is what I tried: 1. Created a category and renamed it - not sure if that was really necessary 2. Clicked on import category and navigated to my dropbox folder and nothing ... there is no button allowing me to import the files. Inserting each one by hand doesn't look like the way to go, I think. So, I clearly don't understand how this works or what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi there! Wasn't sure where to post this but I noticed a difference between the iPad and Desktop version. Earlier, I realized that my file was the wrong PPI in Designer for iPad and wanted to change it. I went into "Resize" and when I changed the PPI, the doc size also changed. At first, I didn't realize that "Resample" was resizing the dimensions bc it's on by default. Do you think it might make sense to have that option off by default, since "PPI" and "Dimensions" work independent of one another on the Desktop when you initially open the Setup? Just a thought. Hi please can you help me. I got Affinity for my iPad Pro 2018. Many of the functions simply don’t work, from the erase brush to other tools! Why is this happening? Am I doing something wrong? I also have this on my iMac and have similar issues. Affinity isn’t as intuitive perhaps as I thought. It’s actually reducing my confidence. I got Affinity to rekindle my love for creating and photography. Is there a way that I can re install this on both my iMac and iPad? -
I have Affinity Photo and Designer for iPad and want to expand onto Windows as well. Is there a package deal for multi-platform of the same product? Are there features to quickly share files, presets, workflows, brushes etc between platforms? -
How do I add more than one shadow (effect) to the same layer? For example, adding two different shadow effects to the same object?

Hey everyone, glad to be part of this community! I just started using affinity photo on my iPad Pro. I simply want to crop an image to a custom size ratio (eg. 1x1) and add a frame to it. Right now I crop the image first and then I change the canvas size and add a new layer to create the canvas but... I am not able to anchor the crop tool to the borders of the image When I crop the image, the uncropped part remains underneath and I cannot create the framing all around it Setting the canvas size is quite a mess I would really appreciate everyone's help :) Nick -

Hi, I’m not sure what to call this. I want to adjust the colour and brightness in multiple objects but change them respectively so if you start with different colour you end with different colours. There are attached images to help explain what I mean. Thanks for any help

I get dubble lines by using the smart selection brush tool. It just selects the outlines of an object and therefore only the pixels between those two lines changes by using adjustments. Has anyone an idea of what I might do wrong?

Does Affinity Photo for iPad/iOS support Sony Pixel Shift ARQ files? Also, does Affinity Photo for Mac and Windows support Sony Pixel Shift ARQ files? If this Compatibility does not currently exist, will support be added in a future release for each platform? If so, is there a Date this ARQ functionality will be made available? Hello everybody, I have a problem that has probably been discussed here several times. But unfortunately I can not find a solution. I like to use designer on the ipad lately. I have not managed to import purchased styles (Frankentoon) yet. Every time I try, the system collapses. I read elsewhere that you can only import styles if Photo and Designer are installed on the ipad. Is that correct? Will that be improved in an upcoming update? Many thanks for the help. -
Looking for feedback here...I work heavy in Affinty Designer and at times Photo. I currently have a supped up MacBook Pro and utilize my iPad Pro time when I need to draw. I’d like to move back to an iMac to expand my workspace and RAM with the new 2019’s and utilize my iPad when I’m away from the office. I posted another topic regarding asking about issues I was having directly importing ai and psd files from Google Drive and the Files app. Ultimately looking to see others opinion if I would be able to rely on Designer for iPad whenever I travel or I’m away. Any feed back would be much appreciated! -
Without any serious vectordrawing app for the Ipad available, I’ve been waiting for Designer for iPad. When the release was announced yesterday I immediately bought my copy and started looking around to get a feel. I’ve been trying the triangular grids, and am not able to snap at them. When at one zoomlevel a point seems to be close to the gridpoint, after zooming in or out the same point is far away from the same gridpoint. See attached images. It looks like the displayed grid is some kind of approximation, and not exact. When zooming in or out I see the grid moving. I’ve tried with millimeters and points as units, with the same results. Triangular grid doesn’t stay in place and I can’t snap exactly to gridpoints. Using a normal square grids seems to be working perfectly, but for some drawings the triangular grid is very helpfull, if it would work well. Am I doing something wrong, or missing something? One other remark about the UI: In the snapping (and other) options, it’s not really clear when an option is toggled on or off. The white ‘off’ position is brighter than the blue ‘on’ position, making it easy for wrong interpretations and making me constantly re-check. I’ll get used to it, but it might help users if there’s an unmistakable distinction between the on and off positions.

It’s would be nice if affinity photo could use any tv that supports AirPlay 2 (which recently has grown to Sony lg and Samsung TVs in new update) the support to use airplay 2 as a medium to view the full canvas of our work on our TVs for a second monitor experience with out all the toolbars. Each change to our work can be updated straight to the second monitor wirelessly. This could have enormous potential for us that work from home. Procreate can also do this. Please make this happen in the next update. -
Why does it select content outside the selection when using refine selection?

I truly hope this is the appropriate space for this type of question coming from a semi-newbie. My question is how to remove the excess empty space around an asset so that the bounding box handles stay fully on the page once place onto the working space. I’ve attached a sample photo and would appreciate any assistance or direction to a helpful resource. Thank you so very much.

When saving a Designer document from the ‘gallery’ screen, the dialogue that displays upon completion needs the words “for speed readers only” added. Or maybe an “OK” button, or some sort of user interaction to allow us to read what went where. This is a 2017 project I was not yet able to showcase. It was a fantastic project to create and design the iPad version ( plus a UI for the plug in version) from the polyphonic synthesizer Redominator (Audiorealism) that finally was not released due to business reasons out of my control. However, it was nearly finished both from design and dev points of view, and I'm showcasing it a couple of years later, so I can tell you that back in the day, apart from a couple of little bugs moving things with the cursor keys and some issues I had with the slicing part, the whole experience overall was lots of fun and I loved it, as much as the result. Can we have industry standard - Illustrator/Vectronator/Inkscape name it. Brush selection? For me as a user would be good to change my brushes FASTER. Now when I'm drawing with a brush I need to unselect everything and go to the brush settings panel to change it. Would be much better to change a brush with a selection tool. When I select something brush changes automatically to the selected object - like it does on illustrator and other industry standard software. And maybe I don't understand something, why you've decided to complicate UX so much and why it is so unintuitive. Its the worst "feature" of your software and it's stealing my time and efficiency!!. Its so ODD. Why? -
