Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and the app. Can the Overlay Gradient Tool in Affinity Photo on iPad apply colour? I mean in Lightroom, the Radial Filter Tool can overlay some colour, not only change exposure, contrast, etc. Or is there an equivalent of such tool? Below are attached screenshots of Lightroom Radial Filter Tool which can overlay colour inside & outside of the elipse.

Hi, whenever I switch into the different brush types, they suddenly disappear. Whenever I restart the app they appear again but once I switch away from the pencils, I only get one or two in the different sections and as I keep switching they completely disappear. I'm using an 10.5" iPad Pro with iOS 13.2.2, and affinity designer 1.7.3.1

Hi guys, I‘ve tried to open images from a network storage on my iPad, but the network section on the left side is missing. With every other app, e.g. Documents by readdle, it works and I have got access to the network. Not with affinity. The white picture is from Affinity, the black one from Documents. Are there any settings inside Affinity where I can activate it or is this feature completely missing? I‘m working on a 10.5“ iPad Pro with iPadOs 13.3 Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has used the official workbook for AD but using their iPad and what their experience was in doing so? Were you able to complete all the included sections? Are there any essentials, that would be missed by using the iPad? I am overall looking for more than basic tutorials and looks like there is some great stuff in the book specifically the hybrid and 3D character sections. In general I am having trouble finding viable and more challenging learning opportunities or a real breakdown on all the tools and the when, what, and hows to using them. Any insight or help is greatly appreciated.

I have a file in Affinity Designer file on iPad Pro (latest generation) that won’t open without crashing Affinity Designer causing it to restart. Is there any way I can get my file back? -

I know designer is meant for vector, but I just had so so much fun with it's pixel persona. I doubt if I'll ever use procreate much anymore, if ever. Not to mention if it's anything past a doodle or a sketch I always need the vector tools.

I have an issue while using affinity designer for ipad. Sometimes when I select a text to edit, my on screen keypad doesn't show so I can't edit the text. I do have an external keyboard but I don't always want to use it. The "funny" thing is that when I have my physical keyboard connected, sometimes the in screen keyboard pops up anyway in designer. I don't know if it's a designer bug or an ipad bug but in any case it's quite frustrating and makes it difficult to get any good work flow.

Hey guys, I‘ve just startet working with Affintiy Photo and I‘m wondering if there is any option to feather the selection by using the smart oder the flood selection tool. There is an option for the freehand selection tool but I couldn’t find it for the others named. Sorry if you already discussed this topic. I couldn’t find an answere yet. Thanks for your help. I just purchased the 7th generation ipad 10.2. capacity of 128GB. I plan to purchase affinity photo and designer for this tablet, but will this tablet be enough to run the progams?

Dear Affinity team, I'd like to ask if there's an option to customise the UI of Affinity Designer for iPad, namely to reposition the contextual tools. I'm considering buying an iPad to use it with Affinity, siding with an 11 inch model, but the contextual tools as they are now take up a lot of space, plus having tools on all four sides seems a bit messy to me. I haven't used the app on iPad yet, but from the videos I've watched it seems to me you could enhance the UI significantly if you gave users the option to make one of the other toolbars wider and accommodate the contextual tools there, leaving at least one of the sides free. Hi Guys, I noticed that the storage for Photo is now 11gb. Which is strange because both the Affinity Photo folder is empty and I don’t have any photos on the Affinity Photo start page / desktop. Is it keeping some kind of cache? Can I clear it someway? Thx H. -

Hi, I’m not sure what I messed with, but every time I press the “enter” key my text returns to the beginning and overlaps on the same layer. Would there happen to be a way to reset the text tools? IMG_5124.MP4 -

So, I’ve been using affinity for a while, but I haven’t really messed with these functions, I know they’re actions and snaps but I can’t tell the difference. If there’s any tutorial I’d love to figure these out, thanks!

As I've mentioned in this post, Affinity Designer's brush performance isn't all that great, but what's surprising me is that I've found out the issue is not present in Affinity Photo at all! I've recently purchased Affinity Photo while it was on sale, and immediately the brush performance seemed better, but I've tested it and it's a very significant difference! For this I've created an identical document on both Designer and Photo: 2800 x 2800 pixels @ 300DPI CMYK colour space using the same brush on both apps using the same colour, just in case same zoom level only one pixel layer same iPad Pro 9.7" (2016) obviously both apps running simultaneously If you look at the attached video then no further explanation is needed, the brush paints smoothly and fast on Photo, while on Designer it's rendered slower and in blocks of pixels, as if it's struggling to keep up. Hello, I would find it very useful if I was able to freely position the tool pop ups from for example the curve or hsl tool. Especially on the iPad Pro 11 inch the center placement of the tool often makes it harder to judge the impact adjustments have on the image while using the tool as it takes up a lot of screen real estate in the center. A great addition would be if something like being able to undock tool and drag it with two fingers to a different location in the workspace would be implemented. Thanks for considering, Johannes -

Every time I try to draw with Designer on Mac and iPad the curves I draw are instantly "corrected" after I finish. I've tried playing with settings of the application or the brushes but I couldn't find a way to just stop "correcting" my drawing strokes. Is this the expected behavior or is there a way to disable this? Please see an attached video of what I mean. Thanks. vector brush test.mov -
Hi! I'm very new to Affinity, but so far enjoying it as an alternative to Procreate. I bought a set of brushes and I've had no problem installing one, but I can't seem to import the other 3? When I go to import and select my file (no problem doing this, it says its downloading) it doesnt import and goes back to the automatic pre-installed pen section. Can anyone help please?! Thanks :) -
