I just purchased the program today after using the free trial. I would like to make my image's background transparent. It's not an image background per se because it does not have layers. I would just like to be able to make the selection of the white background and turn it transparent so I can use the logo on any image or website with any kind of background color. Thank you in advance! -
Publisher 1.10.4 on Windows 10 and 11 crashes when I select an inserted image and attempt any action on it such as moving it or clicking on the 'float with text' icon. Is there a crash report somewhere in the system? Where would it be located? Would it help to change the persona to Photo? Will this bug be fixed very soon? -
Hello I am writing documents with text and graphics. My graphics are linked in ressource and are floating with text reference. All is running well until the text is at the end of the page. I am trying to explain what's going wrong. When I import the picture as you can see here my picture is outside the bounds (of course option isn't checked !). But when I activate the option here the result I get. As you can see I do not want the picture here Is there anything I am doing wrong ? Regards -
I need to fill shapes with images, in Designer. I've watched a tutorial which instructs me to create the Shape and then drag the desired Image (already in the working space) up onto the Shape. In the tutorial, the shape fills with the image on both the Artboard and the Context dashboard . However, when I try the same actions, nothing happens. See screen-shots below. I have a project due TODAY. Need an answer ASAP pls. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Hi, when I import my PNG logo it gets pixelated regardless of dimensions I import. The same png logo looks great on my web page and other materials. I also use it in Sketch3 App and it looks great as well. Any Ideas what do I do wrong? -
Hello, I need to create a mask image but with a border colored, also the image need to be dynamic so my client can change it but keep the mask.. But when I try to put it with the program I use for web development, it's not working. I know that I am making something wrong with the design part. This is the final result I am trying to achieve with elementor : this is the form of the mask : but when I export it in svg or png I get this : or that if I put a pixel mask : please someone have any idea ? :)

I have a Newsletter that I have been working on for some time, including several images. Today I was attempting to insert another image into a textbox. I used the following procedure: In the Layers panel, ensure that I am in the correct text box. Locate the position in the text to insert the image and double-click. Use File > Place to locate and load the image to be inserted. Select the image with the move tool and ensure it is identified as active in the Layers Panel. Click on the Foat Text button in the context toolbar. This does not always seem to have any effect, the image still sits above the text, or sometimes it seems to have become almost fully transpaent. With the image layer selected and with the move tool selected, use the Shift-Arrow keys to move the image to the right place. At this point Publisher crashes. Despite always attempting this process the same each time, i sometimes find that the image gets loaded outside the text box and I have to explicitly move it into the text box layer. Having successfully re-located the image this does not seem to affect the crashing - it crashes whether it needed re-locating or not. I have an image that I want to position in the upper-left corner of a text frame so that the text wraps around it -- see attachment, which shows the image and text as separate objects. How can I do that in Affinity Designer? I am using Designer version 1.10.4 on a Mac running Version 12.0.1.

I wasn’t sure where to put this thread so please move it to a more appropriate place if necessary. I have two very minor issues with the image used for the data merge functionality: 1. The changes between the samples are very difficult to spot – one digit difference in number under vertical barcode, one digit difference in number to the left of the horizontal barcode, and one digit difference in the vertical barcode number (red ‘circles’ in my attached image). 2. It includes barcodes, which might lead some people to think that Publisher can create barcodes, which it can’t (by itself). Would it be better to use an image which shows easy-to-spot differences, maybe conference name/photo badges or something like that? Not a major problem but something which I think could be improved.

Hi, Until the latest update I used this function all the time - I've created a Picture Frame, inserted an image and if I double clicked this image, it opened directly in Affinity Photo. Just this image, no other layers. I then could edit the image alone in Affinity Photo and after saving it took me back to Publisher. And - it did not matter whether this image was embedded or linked. But now when I double click on the image within the Picture Frame, it only zooms into this layer. And - with the image layer selected - when I switch to Photo Persona in the tope left corner, it still shows all the layers, not just the image, as I would expect. Am I missing something? Does this function have to be allowed somewhere now? Thanks. -

All of the images I'm adding to a document show a yellowish cast on the screen. The originals do not show this and the printed version does not either, so I'm assuming this is some kind of display setting. How can I turn this off? Thanks! -
What is the better way to merge multiple images? Like image scanned separately. Merging both vertically & horizontally unlike panoramas that is merged only horizontally.

When I try to place a .jpg image on my current image, all of the images I'm trying to select from are greyed out and I'm not able to select any of them. Most of the images are .jpg and .png. I would appreciate some assistance as I'm a graphic designer and I have a poster to make and have a deadline to meet. Thanks for your assistance.

I have a requirement from my client, who is in the publishing business to create dynamic images as follows. With Aff Photo, is it possible to meet this requirement? Requirement - parameter driven image generation. Parameters: Author name, category, Translator name, Article title, custom image With the exception of the custom image the rest of the parametric data is text (though it will be in Tamil, which AP is very bad at supporting). The image itself is a JPG file name Is it possible to write a AP macro to generate the composite image with standard placement of the text on the parametric image and create a new output image? This will cut down tedious work and improve productivity. -
I don’t get it! From the reviews I’ve read before getting the Affinity Designer for the iPad, I was under the impression that this is the best design app ever! How does the best design app ever not have a Free Transform tool or options?! I’m totally frustrated and wasting a lot of time to figure this out, because I simply can’t imagine that a “design” app doesn’t allow me to distort an image. And the idea that I have to buy another app and add to the work and time, just to transform a simple image, and disrupt my work flow! Could someone explain how this happened? Because I’m regretting buying the app with every passing day. -
The question is in the title. When i right click and copy an image from the internet, affinity publisher shrinks it when pasting it. It didn't do this when I first installed the software. How can I fix this. I am doing spreads and can't figure out how to undo what ever happened to cause it in the first place. -
Hi, I used the print function of Affinity Publisher to print a page with an image. Unfortunately, diagonal lines are printed in steps here. This is also visible in the PDF export and can only be fixed by deactivating the image downsampling. Is there also the possibility to deactivate downsampling in print. In the latest Publisher beta I noticed that there is a new menu item in the Layer menu called “Convert to Image Resource”. What is an “Image Resource”, what can I make into one, and why might I want to do so? I can’t seem to find anything in the Help about this, but I might be looking in the wrong places.

Hello everybody, I searched for this topic but couldn't find it. I apologize should the question already have been asked and answered. In that case please send me a link to the topic. So, I want to format a novel with Affinity Publisher. In the manuscript there is simply used * * * as a scene break but in the pdf I want an image in its place. Always the same image I might add. Until now I've only formatted shorter stories so I simply deleted the * * * and inserted the image which I then copied and pasted. To do this with a 400+ page novel is simply too much and frankly, I can't imagine that there isn't a way to replace all * * * with an image at once. I took a closer look at the "search and replace" function but couldn't find an option to do it there so I hope to find help here. Is there a simple way to solve this problem? I'm grateful for every help! -

placed image into designer 1.8.5.703 on windows, modified size (shrinked), changed to curves, another object (like by cloud tool) in front layer, both selected and added: change of picture changes!! This behavior also appears with all other combining methods and even when creating compounds. There are also artefacts in the picture placed. example1.afdesign example2.afdesign
