  4. Hi, On Designer for iPad, the cmd+D shortcut does not work with vector items, however it works just fine on the desktop version. I tried to change The keyboard shortcut to something else, but the function just doesn’t seem to work. Also a trackpad tap outside the selection does not work either. Is it possible to make these basic functions work on the iPad version? I know an iPad is an iPad for a reason, but I do not necessarily want to touch the screen just to deselect something. The function works just fine in the pixel persona btw.
  5. We are pleased to announce version 1.10.6/7/8 updates for the Affinity Suite on all platforms. Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher (on macOS, Windows, and iOS) had all recently been affected by recent operating system releases such as the launch of macOS Ventura, iOS 16 and Windows 10 and 11 updates. We have mitigated some of these in the 1.10.6 patches of all applications on all platforms. The changes fix/avoid the problems introduced by operating system changes thus returning earlier functionality. If you are using Windows 10 or 11, macOS Ventura (13.x) or iOS 16 then we recommend installing these updates. Other supported operating systems can install the update without issue, but they have no specific advantages/fixes over 1.10.5 for your OS. If you are on macOS Sonoma, the the 1.10.8 patch has a specific fix we would recommend you get 1.10.8 (on macOS only) is a single fix patch to address this Light UI issue on Sonoma UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (for existing V1 customers) Updates on macOS for Affinity Store Purchases The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, for example Affinity Photo > About...). 6. Hi there. I have been using the pen tool on Affinity Photo for Mac for a long time and often use the ability to create tapered lines using the pen tool. I cannot see anywhere on the ipad version where I can change the line thicknesses over distance. Am I missing something? Also when I import a file that does have varying vector stroke thicknesses, every shape and line I create in the ipad app afterwards has the exact same line profile which I am powerless to change. Is this a glitch? Or is there a section were I can change this in app? Please help!
  7. Please let all the Affinity iPad apps take advantage of the external monitor support.
  8. Hi, does anybody knows if the is any method for replacing an existing image for another one in Affinity Designer for the iPad as there is in the desktop version? Thanks

  12. “Fill tool” is doing multiple fill actions by just scrolling/browsing the “Fill Type” carousel. It’s creating multiple history states by just scrolling the “Fill Type” option and sometimes causing a slow down and even a crash! I’ve attached a video demonstrating the bug, notice the “history studio”. Restarting the app didn’t help! Affinity Photo v1.8.6 iPadOS v14.0.1 (iPad Pro 11 inch 2nd gen) IMG_0903.MP4
  13. Since today, Designer often does not refreh the display of my documents after an edit. I then have to change display mode every time to refresh the display and be able to see the document with the edit. I could not identify what causes the malfunction and what ends it again for some minutes. Restart is no help. The other (affinity) apps are not affected. Did somebody have this experience and find a solution? I would be grateful.
  14. Recently, I have been saving my AP ver 2 images to “Files” on my iPad. I have just tried to open some of the images, but the program tries to open using the original Affinity Photo app. How do I change my settings to default to opening the images in Affinity Photo version 2. Currently, I am unable to open the images because the Version 2 edits are not compatible with the old Affinity Photo.
  15. On the iPad version of Designer, since update version 2.2.0.2005 when I go to Save or Save as a document, Designer forgets the previous file name and changes it to "Untitled".
  16. Hi, Newbie here. Wish to purchase software, but before I make the jump, can you help me out with what the scripting options are. I think I read in the forum, scripting was talked about 4 years ago. I am wandering what progress has been made on this front. It comes across, as there still might not be any scripting integration. If there are plans to introduce then a timeline and what language etc, would help, to help me decide my purchase. Many thanks

  22. I’m using Photo2 on an iPad Pro, editing a large image. It’s editing it fine without delay but when I try to export it the app crashes. I’ve also tried to merge the layers (thinking that might reduce the size) but that also crashes the app. I don’t really want to resize smaller if I can help it, as I’ll just have to make it larger again later. I have enough space on my iPad to save the image. I’ve attached an IPS file from today but I don’t understand it. Do you? Photo iPad-2023-09-04-125359.ips
  23. This concerns defining new Textured Intensity brushes on iPad and MBP. Both are running latest AD2; iPad is latest published iPadOS, MBP (early 2016) is running Monterey 12.6.8, latest for that hardware. I am building experimental TI brushes. My goal is to make them in widths that double from one nozzle to the next. The nozzle widths I’m using are more accident/experiment than insight. The Issue The issue is that I have a TI nozzle I can turn into a brush on the iPad, but the MBP changes the entered width on the MBP. This is the same PNG Nozzle file on both machines. Same brush settings; iPad accepts brush width of 1424px, MBP makes a brush, but reduces that width to 1024px - silently, no alerts for the bug at the keyboard. Surely the upper limit to Nozzle Width should be the same on both iPad and MBP? Making this Mischief On iPad: I made the nozzles using the attached AD2 document, and exported the Nozzles with Export Persona. After making the brushes using the exported PNG files, I used the X8 and X4 variants in the associated Butterfly Wings. My brushes are somewhat crazy, but AD2 did everything as expected. Moving to MBP: I airdropped the iPad AD2 document and PNG Nozzles to my MBP, and set about making the brushes in AD2 for MBP. That’s when I noticed that AD2 was putting the fattest Nozzle on a diet - no 1424px width for the MBP, just 1024px. The Cargo AD2 source document created on iPad, X4 and X8 nozzles. I will add at least a screenshot from my MBP to this bug report shortly. Note Document is 300DPI, reflecting my photographic background, just makes things simpler for my head. These are wide brushes, but I’m very pleased to report that I’ve not seen any hint of performance issues on either of my machines. I’ve played with both Repeat and Stretch setting, no perceptible difference. Brush strokes inside the Butterfly wings deliberately have very acute angles, causing mitre issues/artifacts, which is why some got split into 3 separate segments each. 24. I would love the ability to live link or swap the source of images in Affinity Designer for iPad. I’m currently working on a photo book layout and need to make frequent color edits to the images. I would love the ability for these images to either be live-linked to a file or photo in Apple Photos so that edits automatically update. Changing the source of the photo while keeping size, position, and adjustments would be great as well. Please consider this as I am using this tool full-time at this point and this feature is integral.
  25. On the iPad, there is a button on the top right corner that hides the UI to provide a fullscreen vieuw of your work. It hides all UI buttons and tools, except... the command controller button that stays in the way and disturbs the nice fullscreen view. It should toggle on and off together with the other UI elements.
