Hiya! So I'm having a little trouble with texture pack vectors when it comes to trying to select vector group. In Illustrator I'm able to select which texture group I'd like and it grabs the entire texture, but I noticed that with designer it groups it differently. For example, half the texture will be in it's own group but the other half of the texture will be combined with a separate group. Sounds weird I know but I've attached some pictures to kinda show what I mean.

I'm trying to make some sporty text logo and was wondering how best to do the warp effect where the top is straight but the lower edge/baseline of the text is curved. In illustrator you go to Effects > Warp > Arc lower, but was wondering if Designer has something like this? -

I'm not quite sure if I can explain this in a way that makes much sense so I'll let the screenshots do more of the talking; what I'm trying to do is use the "subtract" function to create and effect on the "Neon Dreams" piece similar to that of the other screenshot, with the transparent lines, I don't want to make it too complicated so I hope the screenshots help make everything make sense. I know what I have to do but it seems that I can't because I'm trying to subtract an existing compound? Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks. Dylan

When I try and put a transparent image into affinity designer the transparent parts turn black? How do I change this?

Hi all! I got a serious problem with some jpeg files after importing them. I tried to open a jpeg of a Corona sixpack (no promoting intended) in AP and this happens. Most parts of the photo are missing and the missing parts are transparent. Any ideas?? The issue is not present if I first open the jpeg in any other software and convert it to .png but I would really like to safe the time bc I work on thousands of photos... (sorry if a similar issue has already been posted and I missed it)

Hey everyone, I'll attach a screenshot of my problem at the endn of the thread, but what I'm trying to do is merge these 3 curve layers into one flat object that I can put a gradient on (I wasn't able to do this with a rasterised pixel layer?) Is there any way I can do this? My issue with applying a gradient to the current set is that the gradient doesn't apply to the outline (which one of the layers uses as seen in the second screenshot) Are there any ways to do this or any workarounds? Thanks, Dylan EDIT: I know I could join curves but that would mess up some of the nodes and their placement wouldn't it?

A few days ago I purchased and installed Affinity Designer. I already had Affinity Photo installed on my PC, but after installing Designer, every time I open Photo I'm greeted with an error message about some "Invalid Product Key" (see attached image). I don't know how to fix this, and would like to be able to use both programs. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Hey there, I may seem like a complete newbie when it comes to this, because I am. I'm trying to use the selection brush tool but it doesn't seem to work. With the magnetize button on, It doesn't Snap to the Borders or edges of my work. Please, HELP! -
Hi everyone, I'm trying to move these circles to all be an equal distance from each other as well as the points of the triangle, it doesn't seem possible with the snapping system and I have no clue how to move them the way I want, can anyone help? I've attached a screenshot Thanks

So I'm trying to use a few triangles on a larger triangle, using compounds to try and flatten the vertices of a triangle, this works well on 2 vertices but leaves an artefact on the 3rd, the screenshots should show it and nothing I've tried so far has gotten rid of it; editing curves, making another triangle, etc. I should also mention that this artefact remains after I export it into PNG format for example

I've been using Affinity Designer for quite a while now, but this is a first today. I have the color chooser open and I am working in 2 separate documents that look the same, but are different size. I copy and past the EXACT same RGB color code into both documents and they are 2 completely different colors. On one document its a bright green, they other a dull green. This is the first time I've had this happen. It's extremely difficult to know what color this will appear as on my website. Any idea why this is happening? Thank you -
Hello, I recently downloaded the 10-day trial version of Affinity. While I had this trial, I was working on a project of mine using it. Then, after the ten days had gone by, I realized I had forgot to export my photo into some other file before the trial expired, and now I'm stuck with an unfinished project I have no way of opening. Does anybody know how I would go about opening/exporting this project without having to purchase the full program? -
As part of my project I want to make those brown dribbles in the screenshot look more like oil running down the screen, currently it just looks like drops, how can I make it look like more of a singular mass? As shown in the other photo I've attached, I know what I want to do but not how to do it, thanks!

The screenshot speaks for itself really, I know this is a thing in Photoshop but is there any way to snap the bottom line of the Frame Text to the bottom part of some text? I'd need this to space everything out just right. Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm working on a logo and I'm trying to get rid of 2 filled sections of some triangles, the outlines are already done but the fill is still there, the area that I want to clear is the red crossed out part, does anyone know how to do this? The way I was thinking to do is just clear the fill and use shapes to fill it in instead, merge those and then select the colour, but I feel like that'll take longer than other solutions I've attached a screenshot Thanks

Hi guys, so I'm still relatively new to Designer and I've been having a bit of trouble lately, I'm creating a logo and I need to snap some shapes around, I'm trying to get this triangle to snap to the long part of the other one but it won't capture it as a snapping point, could anyone help out? Hey there fellow Affiniti´es.. So I need help to identify a specific way of drawing/painting... I´ve been all over youtupe and other sites to find a way to create photorealistic images in Affinity Designer But so far the closest i´ve got to it, is a cartoonist/manga related style which i don't really dig. I would like to create some wonderful "paintings" with lots of color and details... and i only have affinity and and very old photoshop. In my picture below i have illustrated what my current lv in affinity is (the blue worm, ps don't mind the watermark)... * basically just a lot of gradients and time. And what i would like to achieve ( the shine and effects on the blood angle.) And due to my "process" i would like to learn to use affinity... but atm my skills in photoshop makes it really hard stay in affinity... And the time i spend in photoshop is absurd due to corrections of lines, layers and details. and it is here affinity shine+ i would like to save that time. So does do YOU know of any tutorial or other ways i could learn to use ,to create Photorealistic picture in affinity like the blood angle?? any other advices? sorry if i seems confused, but i´ve spent a lot of time reseasing this..i have no clue, as to how i can leave the toonish style behind. Besides using brush strokes, which i don't fully understand. And honestly i feel that it would be the same as working in photoshop).

Hi does anyone know how to get the lines to connect or intersect? Is there a special setting I need to fix? If you look at the lines closely every time I try to cross the lines there spacing between them. I'm on the latest version of affinity photo and I want the lines to connect for drawing purposes.

There is a problem with Affinity designer. When entering characters and converting Kanji, the background color of the character becomes gray. If you input it as it is, that character will disappear. Is there a countermeasure for preventing it from disappearing? It has not been such a thing until now ,,,,

I want to download a few tutorials to a usb drive or external hard drive to show members of my Camera Club what they are missing. The selected tutorials will be projected at a Club evening. Please advise,is this permitted and how do I do the download bit.

Excepting iPhone photo editing, I am new to both Affinity Photo and digital post-processing, so on a steep learning curve. The Affinity Photo videos, help, and workbook are all great. I have joined a local club and am taking classes too. With Adobe’s large market share, discussions regularly end up talking about feature X or tool Y in one of the Adobe products. So one of the challenges I still face is figuring out the Adobe software features and nomenclature and then translating the to the corresponding Affinity counterpart. Many software companies have challenged the dominant player by creating a help/guide mapping the dominant software usage to corresponding features in their products. Thanks for considering this.

I don't know how to easily cut things in Designer. In the photo below I want to cut the highlighted part out and delete it. But I don't know how I would easily do it. Could I that path as a cutting tool. I already tried using the geometry things like divide, subtract, add, combine, intersect. Thanks!

I would like to request a similar Edit and walkthrough as this one here on youtube but for affinity for the iPad... Particularly bringing the sun out & complete start to finish since I'm new to Affinity Photo ... I know this result is possible i just can't get down the layers and masking ... If anyone could put something like this together i would be forever grateful Thank You, Joey
