Hi, 1. I think it is crucial to have the possibility to align node handles in 45 degree steps AFTER they are created. Preferably with a keystroke like alt-shift or something like that, of course. So far it is only possible to so WHILE creating the nodes. 2. I would love to to be able to change both node handles of a curve at the same time in order to keep them equal. So far I just can make them equally one after the other. Thanks and best

Hi all, I'm new to AD: I was looking though one of the tuition videos and I see that the red handles appear about a third of the way up the point of the star. However, when I tried to do the same thing, I only get the handles at the base of the point -please see the attached screenshots: Is there a way of adjusting settings? Thanks in advance, Kevin

Hi! I was playing with Figma and jumped back to Designer to compare the two. A really good feature that Designer is missing is the ability to snap vector point handles.

There is no selection outlines or any selectable points for any objects. For example, when I am using the pen tool there are no boxes that I am clicking. So there are no resize handles or anything of the sort. It may be useful to note that I am only macOS Sierra beta 2. I have included a screen shot of what it looks like when I am actively drawing using then pen tool. This issue just started, it was functioning properly for the past little bit.

While working with vector nodes, have holding +control snap handles to major degrees, i.e. 0, 90, 45, etc. Currently, +shift just locks the angle (and making handles lock equal distances from the main node), but it’s harder to find exact alignments. You could go as far as say +control to snap to major degrees document wide, and even adding +control +alt to adjust the degree snapping according to the angle of the node. But, I'd love at least document wide to quickly lay out points with a little more control.

Anchor point handles always get in way
kevinshea posted a topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Is there any way to turn off the annoying but useful anchor point handles - when I am creating numerous, close anchor points the handles pop up and prevent me from adding new anchor points where I want to add them. I've just been moving on to other areas and returning later to add mor but this is annoying and slowing down design. Is there anyway to turn those anchor point handles off so they do not automatically appear and interfere with adding more anchor points? Thank you for your help. I love Affinity Designer.... -
Saw this on Twitter, a great little online game for budding designers.... http://bezier.method.ac/ Dale.

I would like to request that the handle be different somehow than that of the point they control. It gets pretty hard to differentiate the difference when you have a bunch of points and you need to adjust just one. See attached to see what I mean.

So most (all) gradients are even transitions along a 1d line. AD does 2d, so why not 2d gradients. This is in two parts. One) every gradient would have a "Distort Mode", distort mode brings up a grid of handles, rotated to the direction of the gradient and radial etc. for the respective gradient. These can be moved, distorting the gradient. This would be basically a special implementation of the second part; 2D gradients) each 2d gradient would be a assortment of points, each with controllable spread, hsl, and shape. Spread is the distance, think a gaussian function, squished or squashed. HSL is obvious, color controllable with any of the already implemented options. Shape is the shape (no duh), by default a circle, but a star (long points extending from a circle), square, ellipse, or custom could be chosen. Inspired by Logoist 2's lightmap feature (also a good idea to implement), blurred stuff, low-poly stuff.

This may have already been covered and if so I apologize. I wanted to see if there was a way to get the crisp points like in Illustrator. When I wanted a path or fill to come to a point in Illustrator, I could grab the handles of the node and bring them in and they'd "lock in" - when I attempt this with Affinity Designer, they remain "unlocked" Does this make sense? Thanks!
