  1. Hi, if the option "show selection in layers panel" is set (to see your current selection automatically in the layers panel) it also means: click on a layer / click on a group / reorder a layer / reorder a group will lead to expand the group/layer. That is not helpful at all and hopefully a bug only. :) Cheers, Stefan.
  2. I tried applying a mask to a grouped curve and received Code: 0xC0000005 :(
  3. Hey, I asked this question a while ago in the adobe forum, but I never got a reply. So I'll try my luck here. I'd like to have a feature to "apply" clipping groups. Let's take several shapes and combine them into a clipping group (see attachments 1 & 2). The apply operation would have the following result: -children which are actually intersecting with the clipping path are intersected (standard boolean operation) --children which are not available for intersect-operations remain in the clipping group -children outside the clipping path are deleted -children completely inside the path will remain unaffected It would be a great feature, especially when you decide to clip whole artworks or cutting them apart. ~Andrej
  4. Good evening! I try to get used to Affinity Designer and now have a problem to work with nodes from an SVG file. I have a file that gets loaded asa single layer object. I now want to select some nodes and group them as new object or to cut them with ctrl + x but it always cuts the whole big object, not only the selected nodes. I can delete selected nodes. There is the "Divide" tool, that does get most parts separated into own objects, but sometimes has problems with thin lines like with my shield, it makes big filled objects instead of thin lines. Maybe someone can tell me how I can get own objects out of closed nodes? Problem this shield: gets divided to full black objects: HTML5-SVG-SingleObject.svg shild.svg
  5. Is there any way to group a number of palettes, undock the group, and then toggle the group on/off with a shortcut key? For example, I would like to group Histogram, Scope, and EXIF in one undocked palette that I could toggle on/off as needed with a shortcut key for the group. That would make it very easy to have a clean uncluttered workspace while offering easy access to tools and palettes with a minimum of keystrokes. There are other groupings that I would like to set up but having to call each one individually is a royal pain. Am I overlooking something? Is there a better way to accomplish this?
  6. Hi all, new user. How do I snap a slice to layer bounds? Can't figure it out from snapping settings. TIA, Jack
  7. When an object is deleted inside a group, it exits the group. It would be nice if it stayed inside the group. I found myself deleting, then double clicking to enter, deleting and the double clicking to enter. :)
  8. Hello, I miss the functionality for organizing groups without touching the mouse. If I had a shortcut for renaming a group or an element or could select one or more elements/groups with the keyboard, it would be a lot more comfortable. There are already the standard shortcuts for cut, copy, paste, etc, but it seems to me like they have not much value as long as I had to use the mouse. What do you think? Best regards Leon
  9. Hello, In doing astrophotography, these two features are really essential. I really love using AP for editing, but it becomes nearly impossible to with astrophotography because it's missing these two features. Especially because AP has features like LAB, it could be a really great tool potentially - and I don't think (at least the median mode) is very difficult to implement. They're useful for stacking photos - when taking pictures of the night sky without a tracker, you're limited in the exposure length you can use, because the Earth is rotating. To get a useful picture, you really need an exposure with at least ISO 3200, making very noisy images. The solution is to take multiple pictures and align them in post, and then use a median filter to remove the noise (which is incredibly effective). It's useful for other things as well - basically any noise reduction. There are perfectly clear stacks of images taken at ISO 25,600 or higher - and the median filter can get rid of people walking in front of a landscape, for example. My point is, these are really useful features for everyone and could add a lot to the abilities of AP and make it a very appealing software for another group of photographers.
  10. Hi I've just started learning Affinity and am loving it… I was a big Freehand fan and never got on with the other one. My question is this: I grouped a whole image in order to scale it up a little. When I ungrouped, I discovered all the objects were on one layer! Apart from being more organised at set up, is there a way round this? Alan
  11. Hey folks, I'm seeing some issues with a couple of files I'm working on. I've put together a video showing the issues. http://quick.as/0vaRhrrdm I have found since that copying and pasting in the same document causes the same issue with the transparency going, but alt + drag copy doesn't, and so far this is the only way I can replicate the graphic. Let me know if you need anything else. - Stephen
  12. Hi, i can't somehow group layers, what i expect is, i can right click on several layers in make it in like one folder together, which we can name open/close the folder. Thanks
  13. If you spend most of your time on Facebook I just created an affinity designer group there. Share your work, tips and resources! Here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/351282005040403/
  14. It seems that selecting a group in outline view is disabled. I can select the group in vector view but after deselecting then switching to outline view it only selects one object in the group at a time. Is this a "designed that way" or a bug?
