  1. Hi, I keep insisting about the full grid document, in Photo it would be helpful to have this option to have a more precise and sharper sense of alignment for, perspectives in photocomposition and designs. It's obnoxious having to create larger canvas, resize and draw extra guidelines just to cover this feature.
  2. It would be awesome if we could: - Make polar, circular grids. - Create grids that can be imported and resized for reuse in projects such as a golden rectangle grid. - Allow grids and guides to be set in their own layers so that multiple grids and guides can be stacked on top of one another so that modular grids can be created. - Change the color of grids and guide lines. - Set where grid gutters should fall, left, right, or both sides of columns, above, below or both sides of rows. - Create grids out of shapes, rectangle shape can be created and turned into a grid (with the same functionality as global grids) allowing us to be truly creative with the grids we create. - Typographic grids would be awesome as well, baseline for setting type on.
  3. I've just downloaded the trial of Affinity Designer in the quest for an ideal replacement for designing websites other than the typical bloated Adobe Photoshop/Indesign combo, especially after all the hassle of Creative Cloud. Affinity Designer seems more oriented towards illustration, but I was wondering if anyone is using it for more traditional design purposes? So far I really enjoy the feel of AD's UI, it feels very stable, smooth and fast, but I was wondering if there were ways to achieve certain basic things that are quite critical to my workflow. Is there any way to setup column based grids, for example a 12-column grid with custom gutters and so on? I suppose one could manually create all the guides in the 'Guides manager', but it seems a bit cumbersome. Is there any way to define 'Master Pages' or 'Master Artboards' in a sense? Is there any way to set character/paragraph styles so type styles can be re-used and modified document-wide? Is there a way to prevent text frames from showing overflowing text? Is there a way to place images within existing rectangles/frames and access a variety of fitting options? So that one doesn't have to simply place the image and manually use the crop tool. I suppose those are my main questions so far, as these items are the critical building blocks for my design workflow.
  4. Hi, To start the weekend, why not get some inspiration from Nat's cool Designer tutorials? Guaranteed to keep you "on app" and away from cutting the grass. • Grids for Icon Design (New 28/07) • Grids for Floor Plans (New 28/07) • Isometric Grid Drawings: Part 1 (Single Planes) (New 29/07) • Isometric Grid Drawings: Part 2 (Multiple Planes) (New 29/07) • Isometric Grid Drawings: Part 3 (Layers and Compounds) (New 29/07) Regards Andy Capstick Affinity Docs
  5. Hi Guys, I'm really enjoying affinity design so far. Going from Inkscape to this has been a real change. The only thing Im missing atm is hexagonal grids :( Cheers,
