If you apply to an object a gradient and then add a modification using the transparent tool the result will be one gradient predominating the other after exporting using SVG format Only works if there is neither a gradient or a transparency applied, not both together sample 1.afdesign

Wouldn't it be a great feature to support Microsoft xaml-files for drawingbrushes? There are some svgtoxaml converters out there, but it would be a much better workflow to export the xaml-files direct from Affinity-Designer. So I can use my favourite tool to design my drawingbrushes in my wpf-applications.

Would be nice if you could add additional cropmark format.(Japan/China format) This has bleed guides that regular cropmark doesn't. https://www.mojoprint.jp/tutorials/2007/07/10/understanding-the-guides-and-marks-used-in-the-templates/ https://indesignsecrets.com/japanese-and-chinese-crop-marks-for-indesign.php https://www.printarabia.ae/help/creating-data/what-are-trim-marks

Comic book tools could feel right at home in Publisher with its Designer and Photo integration. Speech bubble tools with linking could be useful. The panel creation tools in Clip Studio could be instructive.

Hi. This is getting me nuts and I don't know whats happening. When I copy text from Word and paste it inside a text frame on Publisher, what I get is a bunch of in-line text boxes (One for each original line of text). It doesn't mind if I paste directly or if I use Paste without format. The output is the same. Pasted text is not even in the paragraph style. I don't remember this happening on the betas. Any suggestion will be pretty well received. By the way, I'd love to have a preference setting for "Paste text as without format" on the preference pane so we can optionally use command+v directly without bringing Word garbage and without having to do finger yoga with the keyboard, but that is another story. Mac OS 10.14.5 Word 10.26 Publisher 1.7.2 Tested on different machines, all same output.

Hi guys, When I copy text from Word for example, the font of my text field in Affinity changes to SymCat (it's a weird font, I have no idea why I have it installed ). Anyway, if I copy it first in Notepad, which doesn't support text formatting, and then I copy it to Affinity, everything is cool. But it's way too time consuming. Is there a way to stop Affinity from formatting text I paste in a text field? I only need the text content, I don't want the formatting from another program, doesn't make much sense Thank you, Chris

Every time I try to change and replace the text's colour it crashes. I've converted it to curves but then I don't know where to change and replace the colour unless I select element by element manually or on the layer panel. Any tips until this bug is sorted? Thanks, IR

Hello, In .afpub 1.7.0.145 for macOS Mojave, I've noticed that text formatting/font changes upon PDF import placement. It doesn't matter whether I set the document to place as an embedded image or linked. The PDF appears fine when opened on same system in other viewers (Apple Preview, Adobe Acrobat, & Pages). I suspected it could just be AfPub's preview of the placed PDF however it retains the wrong formatting upon exporting as PDF also. The solution to fix issues like this is to have the PDF Options dialog popup when a user selects File Menu - Place.

Hi, When I try to open the attached nx.hdr, Affinity Photo 1.6.4.104 says "This file type is not supported." It can be opened in other application. Thank you! nx.hdr

I often have to create a lot of files in various formats for my customers. What would be a really good feature would be a "Bulk Export" Dialog, were I can choose: the formats I want to save with checkboxes The location to save A name for the files I think the best way to do this regarding settings would be to take the last export settings from the regular export dialog.

I think games development needs TGA support... Working for a major game developer (EA) as a director, although it is admittedly an archaic format, TGA is an essential format for day to day use. This is a format that although we do not necessarily manually write too, it is the way we store the image in its raw format and I suspect many other studios do too. Higher depth formats are becoming more prevalent, but for now TGA is an essential format that without, we could not recommend the software rollout.

I recently learned about the new upcoming image format called the High Efficiency Image File Format (or HEIF), which was mentioned in the Windows Blog (https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2018/03/16/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-17123-for-fast/#OALyDY4AdhDIahYX.97). After looking into HEIF, I was wondering if Affinity was working on support for HEIF for Affinity Designer & Affinity Photo (or if support is already there). The initial impressions of HEIF look promising and might be an image format that can improve workflows. If you need details on HEIF, I've posted links below. Hello, I am new here so I suppose the best thing to do is introduce myself and let you all know what my topic is about. To begin, I am a professional landscape and nature photographer. I create HDR composites that I sell through stock agencies and also in local art galleries in Sedona and Jerome AZ. For many years I used Photoshop CS5, and it did what I needed done as far as image manipulation and editing. But a short time ago my old MacBook running Lion OSX failed. The GPU in the logic board burned out and I got the white screen of death. I wanted to get it fixed but the parts were no longer available, which forced me to buy a newer Mac running High Sierra 10.13.3. PS CS5 does not work well on High Sierra. It would not update and it often crashed with errors. Adobe technicians told me that CS5 had never been tested on High Sierra and probably would not work. They advised me to get creative cloud, but I told them I was not going to rent a program. I only buy programs with perpetual license. I found Affinity Photo while searching for CS5 alternatives. I have been testing Affinity for the last couple of days and so far I am impressed. It has many of CS5's capabilities, but the controls will take me some time to get used to. I will probably end up buying the program when the trial period is over. But there is one thing that does need improvement with Affinity. It need support for the JPEG2000 format. I have several hundred images stored in that format and Affinity cannot open them. I use the JPF format to archive my master copies after all editing is finished. I put them in a folder with the original camera raw copy. The reason I used this format is because it supports LAB 16 bit color, just like a TIF, but has lossless compression and has half the size of a TIF. This format is also being used in some video applications. Since Photoshop supports JPEG2000 I think Affinity should consider supporting it as well if your company wants to compete with Adobe on their level. I can use another program called ColorSync to convert my old JPF files back to TIF but that might degrade their quality. So if you are considering adding JPF support to Affinity please let me know. And if you're interested in seeing some of the work I do here is a link to one of my portfolios. The images on this site are being marketed through Getty Images. My HDR lightning composites are my biggest sellers. http://www.roomtheagency.com/profile/555/ Thanks for listening.

I bought Affinity Photo in December as an additional external editor for Lightroom (alongside Elements 2018 XXL). I have used it a few times so far and found it helpful for certain processes on TIFF files. However, I noticed recently that all of my RAW files (nearly 50,000) had mysteriously been converted from Nikon format to Affinity Photo files. I did not see this as significant until I started to have problems with Lightroom (versions 5 and 6 with slightly different catalogues in each). I did not realise the cause of the Lightroom problems at first. After Lightroom 5 crashed completely I reinstalled it and deleted the previews. It now works up to a point but cannot read the RAW files. Lightroom 6, also reinstalled, is stuck in a mode of partial reading of the RAW files, but cannot read them properly. I have no idea how Affinity took over all my RAWs but I would like to know how to recover them, i.e. convert them back to their original format.

1. The Most marketplace is requesting .ai file format, is it possible to export file format to .ai? I hope marketplace slowly can accept .afdesign next. 2. Is it possible to shorten the file format? maybe .ad .afd .afde or other shorther formats. it is just my thinking, may be a further development material. Thank You

I think it would be an excellent idea to open up the file format shared between Photo and Designer so it can be embraced by 3rd party tools like Invision, Avocode and Zeplin.

Hello, I'd like to know if there is any way to add and/or remove page size presets from the list New Document window? I don't use formats such as A0/A1 etc, but very often use B4 and B5 - I'd like to have them on the list so I won't have to enter each time the size manually. \ If currently there's no way to do so, I would recommend to do it in a Scribus way:

Hello, I am using batch job to apply a basic grading to my Raw images and export them as Jpeg. This basically works quite good except for the fact that the grading looks quite different to what I get when I open the image manually, develop it and apply the macro then. But this is another topic. My bigger problem is, that portrait format images are always cropped to a landscape image. That means I get a landscape image where the upper part of my originally portrait image is cut off and in the right part of the image is just black (see attachment). Am I doing something wrong? I am using a Nikon D610 which is auto rotating the photos like almost every other digital camera. Thank you! Seeb

This should support import/export of DrawPlus files, especially since DrawPlus was made by the same company. I can't currently open a .dpp file that I can in DrawPlus in any of the Affinity projects to carry them over.

I cannot get the export feature to work in either Designer or Photo for Windows. I believe that I'm following the directions in both apps but all it will save as is the Affinity format. Some system setting?
