Hello--I want to create a vector text headline to use in a design which I'll enlarge and print on fabric. Like a T shirt, I guess. I'd like to use my own handwriting but I don't know how to vectorise it in Affinity Design? Any tips? I'm avoiding the pen tool as I'm so rubbish at it. Thanks for any advice. -
Hey guys, Every time I go through my fonts the app crashed. This doesn't seem to happen when I pick a font at once, just when scrolling through them. Is there anything I can do on my end to fix it? Thanks

Open the Character panel and choose 'Web' from the category dropdown list. Observed: The dropdown list on the right includes Comic Sans MS. Expected: The dropdown list on the right does not include Comic Sans MS, since it is not present by default on iOS devices and it can therefore no longer be regarded as a 'websafe' font.

1. While Designer is running, install a new font. 2. In the Preferences dialog, choose 'Miscellaneous' 3. Press the 'Reset Fonts' button Observed: The font dropdown list shows the new font's name in plain text. Expected: The font dropdown list shows the new font's name using that font. The screenshots below show how the new font 'Bombing' is displayed on the dropdown list before and after restarting the program.

I would love to see fonts that are added to the system dynamically loaded in the open Affinity programs and available for use immediately. It is very cumbersome to have to save all your open documents and reopen Affinity to make use of new fonts. Thanks for the programs. They are awesome.

I've just installed the font 'alpha kufi regular' to troubleshoot a question about it. When I looked for the font in Affinity Designer on Windows, I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to find it because it has a lowercase name. The sorting of the list of font names should not be case sensitive.

Hello! Apparently there are problems with the fonts management. Text is not represented in the Arial font, but in a special characters font). It is not possible to write a text in the Arial font. It works with other applications (e.g. Word, Photoshop etc.). Also, not all fonts in the font list are displayed - but installed. I hope I'm not the only one with this problems. Specs: - Processor: AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz - RAM: 8 GB - Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 - Monitor: SyncMaster F2380 (resolution 1920x1080) - Operating system: Windows 7 / 64 bit - Affinity Designer: 1.5.0.5

Hi all. I'm using the latest version of Affinity Designer Beta for Windows that's out as of this writing. Right now, I'm only using it for basic stuff, mostly creating thumbnails for my YouTube channel. I've run into one problem I hope you can either help with or record as a bug. I use a few custom fonts in my thumbnails and three of them are not working in Affinity Designer. They appear in the list of fonts I can select when creating a text element but if I select them, it just immediately selects the font above them instead. I have 4 custom fonts and this only happens with 3 of them, the other is fine. These 3 fonts also work fine in other applications and all of them are TTF. I've attached the three fonts in question to this post as a ZIP file. These are freely available fonts so I'm not breaking any licenses. :) I've also attached a screenshot, showing the 3 fonts as available in the list but as I said, I can't select them. The other font you see in the image I have open in the screenshot is the other custom font which as you can see, works fine. If you guys are able to assist in any way, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm really enjoying Affinity Designer as a great alternative to overpriced Photoshop for my relatively basic image editing needs. If this can be sorted out, I'll definitely be buying it when it hits full release. Thanks for your help! Fonts.zip

Hi I think you maybe could let us change the Font border color like any other shape not only the fill color. Also will be god if we can make a paragrah to follow the shape form

When selecting a single character to replace with an alternative after replacing once the list grays out and I can't choose another different one. after this happens it's difficult to get the list to activate again. The font I'm testing with is Desire Pro so I should have lots of alternates to choose from. -

If you want it, just sign-up and get it. The import brush is at the very bottom of the alphabet png. As well there are some other interesting backgrounds, etc.

I am enjoying the Affinity Designer app however, I am facing Issues when I am using devanagri fonts. I did search a lot in the app for options related to Indic languages. However, I cannot find it. My kind request to the developers of Affinity to provide a support for Indic Languages. I have also attached a photo regarding this issue. I have used Illustrator to explain the situation since I cannot in affinity.

Does Affinity Photo recognize embedded fonts in a pdf file? I print a lot of wide format graphics and there are times when i need to layout files a certain way that the RIP will not let me and I need to do it in photoshop. When I open the file in AP, if there are fonts involved, it asks me to replace them if they are not available. In PS, it recognizes the embedded fonts and it rasterizes the file without a hitch. Is this a feature that is coming, or a bug? I understand that if I need to make changes to the text, I need the font, but most of the time I just need to convert the file to a raster file. Thanks for any help. -
Just downloaded an AD file that contained fonts that were not on my system. Is there a way to do a 'search & replace" for fonts, or otherwise exercise some control over the font substitution? Cheers!

I'd like a way to more quickly change the font of selected text. I'd like to be able to do this: Press Hotkey > Type name of font > Hit Return to confirm. I actually see no place in the UI where I can input the name of a font, I only see a dropdown menu. Being able to hit a hotkey that takes me to an input field would go a very long way in speeding up my workflow.

Hi, I am thinking of downloading AD as I believe it will give us everything we require for a new business venture - the way Photoshop and Illustrator has gone subscription based really doesn't help small start up business. A quick question anyway - can you embed fonts before creating a PDF for export? I have searched and I believe AD doesn't support this feature at the moment but I hope to be proven wrong! If you aren't able to do this in AD, can you export as PDF and open in Pages on the same computer and embed fonts there before sending to an external print company? Thanks. -
I am missing several installed fonts that show up as expected in other programs. Example - BlairMdITC plus several others are not in AP font list.

i like the software. but it seems to be lacking in font manipulation. you can only write straight ahead. theres no commands or procedures to shape fonts or groups of them into predetermined forms. i tried to make a logo where the word travels upward in a curved diagonal pattern. to say your competing with adobe anything this seems to be a very disappointing drawback. has anyone ever manipulated fonts in this way? using this program?

I stumbled across a problem. I used the text tool in AD to create some special characters with fill and stroke, but when I wanted to go back to write some other text, I couldn't get rid of what I had added, so all the text came out garbled as it was a smaller size and the stroke just messed it up. I have chosen no stroke but to no avail. It continued even when I started a new project. What gives? -
I just got Affinity to replace Photoshop and I'm big into graphic design. So, I like to download a lot of fonts and then upload them to figure out which one I like best. But I don't understand how to correctly do that on Affinity of if its even possible??? -
I just downloaded Affinity Designer for some marketing materials. I have a font 'Proxima Nova' that I've purchased and downloaded into my computer. It shows up in Affinity Designer but it will not allow me to use the font in italics. I can use italics for other fonts but not this one. Could really appreciate help. Thanks! -

Hi! To start with, I am totally new to this and no basically nothing (besides what I've learned from some video tutorials in the past hour). I am trying to create a post for a website that has it's own title, and I want the title to be in the same family (font and color) as the company's logo. The fonts in the logo are "Bebas Neue" and "AvantGarde Bk BT" but I don't see either of those on the font drop down list. Is there anyway to find them, add them, buy them? Please and thank you, I need all the help I can get! :) -E
