  1. Is there a way to select a default file type (AI, EPS, PDF, etc.) in Designer?
  2. The ability to export DXF format curves would make it much easier for designing in Affinity and then cutting with a cutter/plotter.
  3. Hello all, Just recently I was creating line art for a request from one of my commissioners (in affinity of course), I completed a fair amount, and saved regularly during creating it, until my laptop completely crashed that is. I was forced to turn it off by holding the power button until it had completely shut down. I wasn't too worried about losing my work because I'd just saved about one minute or so prior to it crashing. However, when I turned my laptop on again, and then tried to access the file, apparently affinity didn't support the file type? I checked in the properties and it was correct, named "optrix.afdesign", and here I also noticed that the size (and the size on the disk) was 0 bytes, currently I don't know if this is just an error showing the size or it is literally 0 bytes and I've lost all of my work. I definitely wasn't putting my laptop under any stress, the afd. file only contained my line art and 3 other images I was using as references. And yes, it's only this file that can't open, I believe all of my previously created files can. I've attached the file itself just in case, and I can show you screenshots of anything you need. Since this time I've downloaded and reinstalled the release candidate affinity again. Even if no one can help, could you please respond if you've had the same; or a similar issue (my laptop is a Surface Book and I solely used a Bluetooth mouse, not the pen). Thank you for your time. P.S Just when trying to attach the file apparently no file was selected. I've lost it haven't I.
  4. I just downloaded and installed Affinity. When trying to open a file, I receive the following message: /../../_W4A4007.jpg The file could not be opened because permission was denied. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Hey affinity community! Have been shopping for a few months for a software just like affinity, and am quite impressed with how user friendly this software is. I started a free trial and make a flyer. It's only been a few days into my trial, and whenever I go to open that file now I get a window pop up telling me my trial is expired, I was under the impression the trial should last 10 days. How do I go about retrieving that file? Getting it back would save me hours of work. The file is both on my desktop but also saved in a separate folder. I'd consider buying affinity right now if it meant I could get my file back, but my main concern right now is the file I made with the trial version. Internet, help! :( Any advice would be much appreciated -Fwen
  6. Hi Guys, I am started using Affinity from few days back only, Irony is I am unable to open the artwork which i have designed in the Affinity Designer. Please let help me out.
  7. If i open a RAW-File (from my Alpha 58) with AFPhoto and save it – without any changes – the size of the file is extremely large ! From 20 MB (standard-file/PSD-file) to 150 MB (after saving in AFPhoto) ! I open the file in Affinity Photo and press „develop“ (in German its called „entwickeln“ !) … and then i just save the file. Is there anything wrong ? I cant’t believe that the file size is the real result ?!? thx for help
  8. Hello everyone, I would like to know if there is a feature for packaging Affinity Designer Documents (such as Illustrator or InDesign) in your roadmap. Thank you very much!
  9. I had a network disconnection right after clicking on one of the sample pictures. That caused the initiated download to be corrupt/empty. AD created an empty file with 0 byte and tried to open it. This causes an error: "The file type is not supported." Of course you can reproduce it: right click on in an Explorer-Window --> new --> Text file --> name the file "emptyfile.afdesign". Then try to open it. So I see 2 cases to handle: Check downloads were completed handle empty files with extension .afdesign
  10. Hi, I've done some artwork in affinity and I used a blur feature. I tried to export it as svg and the artwork looks generaly ok unless the parts where I used blured objects for shading. When I open the file in affinity it looks quite ok but I tried to open it in Inkscape (the Illustrator crashed when I tried to open it) and it looks like in the picture below. I don't know if it's a bug or if I exported it a bad way or it may be common export issue. I didn't found similar topic so sorry if I aks already answered question. MM
  11. Hello! Thank you for Affinity Designer Window Beta!! YAY! However I've encounter two bugs? 1. Once I open file and load up, when I decide I want to open another file, it won't load up. 2. When I close the file in the app, and tried to open file from folder while app is running, it won't open up. Hope this make sense?

  13. As it says above, keep the document's layer structure when the file is exported to pdf format. Thanks
  14. I could use some help. I have some typed some phrases with glyphs and I want to export them as SVG for use with vinyl cutters. When I export the file as SVG and open it in my other software the phrase is all wonky. I have read that I would need to pull it into inkscape and trace it there but I don't seem to be able to do that either. I even downloaded an app "super vectorizer" with no luck. Can anyone give me some ideas here of what I am doing wrong? I have attached the file Kiss Me Now.afdesign
  15. Opening a file in affinity designer results in the message The file seems to be damaged. Is there a method of repairing a damaged file?

  18. Hi. In Photoshop I was able to apply a script so that when I save my file as a .psd it would also save a copy as a .png file. Is there a way to do this for Affinity Photo?
  19. A feature of Photoshop, I use a lot is to create new files from clipboard content. As I want to leave PS behind with Affinity Photo, it would be cool to have this functionality.

  21. Are there any plans to add support for importing from Pixelmator's .pxm file format? It would be a nice to not have to export to PSD when working between two of my favorite applications. Here is an example .pxm file for your reference (I wasn't allowed to attach it to this post). Thank you for the outstanding application and support!
