  1. AFPUB 1.8.3, Mac 10.15.3 I have been working with a large document with hundreds of photos. Loading this document from start to quiescence of the CPU takes some 8-10 minutes or so. I sometimes forget this as it is possible to edit the document while the document is still loading (measured by the activity of the Mac Activity Monitor). When I press Ctrl-S to save the document before the document is fully loaded, the "save" window pops up. Of course AFPUB cannot save the file immediately since it hasn't yet finished loading, so the "save" dialogue just sits there doing nothing. In some (thankfully) rare cases, the "save" dialogue never saves (measured by its progress bar) - yet sometimes a save is actually completed - and sometimes this request to save causes AFPUB to crash. The software is a bit unstable during the document load. Suggestion: do not accept the command to "save" while the document is still being loaded - pop up a "warning" instead to wait and do the save later. Yes, I know about the recent release of AFPUB 1.8.4. I do plan to test the new release soon, but cannot risk it now as I am just about to publish the document I've been working on.
  2. What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? Windows 10 Pro (64bit), Version 1903, Build 18362.239 What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) After loading a bunch of files via drag and drop into Affinity Photo, all the files were displayed correctly but the zoom value in side th edocument tabs is initialized to 100%. When you click on one tab it is being updated to the correct value. The tab getting the focus after the loading action has finished shows the correct zoom value. Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). see previous point Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. see attached video Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. no Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) not sure. I installed the 1.7.1.404 (<- page not found?) this morning as I wanted to do some photo postprocessing. Regards, Stefan Sperling 2019-07-12_11h48_18.mp4
  3. I'm on Affinity Photo v.1.7.1.404 with Windows 10.1093. For the last week or two, I've noticed that I can't open my older .afphoto files (not older than 1.6) anymore that have layers in them. I have stored most on an external hard drive. I've tested trying to copy to C: drive, but I get the same fault. On clicking open, the attached error messages flashes across the image, which I can see is loaded in the background. The dialogue closes and the file remains unopened. Please assist asap as I need access to my work.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm new to Photo, have used Photoshop for years, ditching it because of subscription based service- I just installed Affinity Photo, no errors on the install- On Windows 10 Pro. x64- I cant open any image files in Affinity Photo- I doesn't error, the status just shows that its "Loading 1 Document..." and stays that way 2min, 10mins, 30mins... even for files that are 800k in size (.png, .jpg, etc) --- however, if open the app, and create a new image file- save it to the desktop- exit the app- then double click on the new image file .afphoto, it opens Affinity Photo, then loads up the image- ?? some notes on my pc configuration: my user account is a standard user (and not admin) so when I need to install applications, I have to use the local admin account- when doing this, I install the application(s), into my users profile folder, so the user account should have full access- (noted by Affinity Photo, being able to open without issues- ) however, I'm not sure if this scenario might be whats causing the app, to not able to open other image formats- ??? although iv noticed my pc getting errors in the eventviewer that are GPO related, some of them security- will keep digging
  5. V58 (Mac) beta crashes immediately on open of a very simple single page document (1 jpg & 1 text block).
  6. I can open Canon RAW files (CR2) if I double click on the file name in Windows Explorer but there does not seem to be away of doing this within Photo. It would be good to be able to open RAW files using File/Open menu item.
  7. I am using Affinity Photo 1.4.3 on a late 2015 iMac running Mac OS 10.12. I have written a program that exports pretty simply tiff files. Every app I have tried reads the files my app writes, except Affinity Photo. I have tried Preview, Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, Pixelmator, Viveza 2, Safari (I did not know it worked as an image viewer, but it does)). I think maybe Photo is trying to interpret the tiff file as a RAW file. I have attached two screen grabs. One shows the upper left corner of the Photo window with one of the files my app wrote. The other shows the upper left corner of Photo with one of the input files to my app (which was written by lightroom). My app averages stacked images to reduce noise, so I expect the two images to be pretty much the same except for noise. Any suggestions or ideas on what might be going on here?
  8. Hello: I just installed affinity. I am sure the program is great, but I am not able to open a image file on affinity. I use an iMac and all my pictures are in the photos library accessed through the photos program. How do i get one of my pictures to load into affinity?
