  1. Where are my export configuration presets? I have "Saved" some export configuration presets that I have created to export an image in different sizes, but when I want to use these settings that I have saved, I don't know where they are to choose from to apply to other images. If I know they are saved because when I create a new export configuration preset and give it the same name of the adjustment that I had previously created and saved, I get a dialog box with a message telling me that there is already a setting with that name and if I want to replace it with the new setting. What will be the error? Where do I select the export configuration presets that I have created in Export Persona? Please tell me what am I doing wrong? I hope it is not an Affinity Photo bug. I'll look forward for your answer Thank you
  2. In order to create a Launch Storyboard Image for a iOS app, I need to use a file name like this: Default@2x~universal~anyany.png But at Export Persona is not possible to use this symbol ~ and the file name is convert to Default@2xuniversalanyany.png Please, could you implement the possibility to use this symbol in file names? Thanks.
  3. On the Export Persona of Affinity Designer, I am able to create column guides via the Guide Manager but snapping to them doesn't work. I made sure that snapping to guides is turned on the main toolbar. Snapping to ruler guides does work, yay! I would also like to be able to reposition placed ruler guides by dragging directly over them aside from editing their values on the Guides Manager while on the Export Persona.
  4. When I open Affinity Designer with a new document, Export Persona correctly updates the destination folder for the relevant file. But if I close the document, leave Affinity Designer open, and open a new file, Affinity Designer will export to the directory of the previous file what causes confusion when later searching for the exported files on the hard drive. I am not sure if this is intended behavior or not, if so please ignore this message.
  5. The panel for path component customization/settings suffers from several problems (APh & AD). In the german UI the variable descriptions are partly not readable since cut off, either make the panel wider/bigger or the text for those descriptions smaller, so they are readable. User variables can't be entered here (OSX El Capitan), those text fields are pretty unusable and do stop and block entry after just one character has been inserted. I also pretty much doubt that own defined vars there would be usable and work at all. - Generally the whole panel design there is a nightmare and needs a huge rework. The online help related to these topics is also more than poor and a catastrophic!
  6. Hi all, In Affinity Designer, when I click on `Export slices` (on the Export Persona panel) it always open a system dialog for destination folder. Q: Is there a way to avoid the dialog? Any of the following behaviours would be fine: Choosing the destination folder the first time and remembering it (should be a way to explicitly change it later) Permitting absolute paths and/or current folder (`.`) and parent folder (`..`) in the `Path` option Always opening the dialog for the destination folder but at least defaulting to current project directory (on the first time) or current project last selected export folder Allowing some sort of scripting Thank you for your help.
  7. AD version 1.7.3.481 Hi, I have to create slices from a weblayout to export jpgs. In this case i have picture frames with linked images in a Publisher document, which are exactly positioned/sized on integer pixel values. To export the images for web, i open the Publisher document in Designer and switch to export persona. My typical approach is to select the orginal object in the layers panel and create a new slice by pressing the "new slice (Slice erstellen)" button at the bottom of the layers panel. Example: the object is 480 x 480 px at position 0 / 1850 px. Normally when i create a slice from a selected object the slice directly takes the object/layer name and the EXACT dimensions and position of the original object. Even if i select multiple objects/layers and create all slices in a single shot. But in this case all created slices are some pixels bigger and shifted off. e.g. the created slice from this object is 482 x 482 px at position -1 / 1849 px I have some other big header images in this document at position 0 / 0 px with 1920 x 1080 px. These images produce slices with exact the original values as expected. So what's wrong? Is it because this is originaly a Publisher document, or is it about the picture frames? Unfortunately the slice tool does not snap to any grid or guides, so i have to manually correct all slices in the transform panel. Lot of workarounds and lost time - again... :-(
  8. What I Wish To Do: Export only desired artboards in my document as one single pdf. Each artboard to have its own page in that PDF. I know there have been a few similar topics to this but they differ slightly from what I am trying to achieve. This feature is available in Illustrator CC by doing the following: File > "save as copy" Choosing to save as pdf Then specifying the range of Artboards to be included in the one PDF. (As separate pages of course). I wish to avoid deleting unwanted artboards everytime I wish to export a PDF with only certain artboards included. Otherwise doing File>Export>PDF>"Whole Document" would work, but it's not ideal. Any chance there's now a setting in Export persona that can manage this? Thank you for any input on this. 9. I have been using AD for a while, and created a bunch of custom settings for exporting (to pdf, png etc.). Now I am starting to use Affinity Publisher, and to my surprise, the export settings dropdown only contains the few default items. It this a bug/problem on my machine, or is this intended? I thought it would be obvious that one wants to use the exact same settings for eporting in all Affinity programs. If it is not possible to just share them across all Affinity apps, how can I copy the settings from AD to AP?
  10. Hey Affinity users I'm working on a booklet and im nearly finished and want to export the files. When I'm on the vector or pixel persona everything is looking the way it should. But as soon as I switch to the export persona one layer ("Pergament") disappears. When I export the file via the dialog --> file/export.. then this layer also gets exported. Only with the export persona it doesn't work. Any ideas what I've done wrong? Thanks a lot. Best regards Selv
  11. Hi there, So I created a document and some slices on it. Could anyone tell me what the black arrow slice selector is for in the export persona? I'm trying to use it to grab and select the slices but it doesn't seem to work..
  12. Hey I want to flag this bug/issue again since it is still not being address or fixed and is creating a workflow in affinity that I can no longer continue to use. Please see video below of the example of how force pixel alignment does not work. It is becoming a serious headache, namly the export persona constantly exporting images with a 1px gap. I have since, through shear perservance learned the work flow to get around this problem. Forced pixel alignment should do what it says and the whole document works precisely on whole pixels regardless of scale, snapping or repositioning. Perhaps affinity should even add this as a clear option when creating a document in the first place. Add a tick box option next to the 'document units' dropdown menu and call it 'work with whole pixels'. Then have the additonal forced pixel button in the toolbar. My problem I face now is when a scale an object, let's say a simple piece of text. It does not scale to whole pixels. It introduces the fractured pixels, even though the whole documnent is working in forced pixel alignment. Due to this I have to constantly monitor and be aware of resizing everything to make sure it is working in full pixels. Is there a way when I scale an object, ie grabbing the blue handle points and increasing or decreasing its size, while maintaining full pixels? This would help massively on my end in solving how affinity works. Like others though this is really beginning to dent my ability to use Designer going forward. It is literally adding hours to my work flow. https://www.loom.com/share/d4d68bbd50ac4a68892ca40852a5cf72
  13. Hello Serif, OS : Mac Os Siera 10.12.6 I'm experience issue about Export persona in Affinity Designer. When I try to export the output always change like increase by 1 pixel or decrease by 1 pixel. I'm also add screenshot in attachment below. Could you please give a solution about this? Thank You
  14. When using export persona in AffinityPhoto version 1.7.1.404 (german language setting) using variables for slicename to save have no effect. See example in Screenshot. Only "Slice1.jpg" is used in exported image.
  15. I've just been trying to export 5 PDF artboards using the Export Persona and I can't find the 'include bleed' option. It was a tick box in AD 1.6 but now it is not an option in the Export Persona unless I use the File > Export option
  16. I have about 90-80 slices in my project (It's and Android app) , and each slice is exported to a number of files (PNG and SVG). When using my mouse wheel scrolling up and down, folding and unfolding my slice to check that the export looks ok Designer freezes. 1. I first created a "master" export setup manually, exporting one SVG file and a number of PNG files in various resolutions to target all DPI:s 2. I used the "copy export format setup to clipboard" 3. I marked all my other slices (except the top one) 4. I used the "Add export format setup from clipboard", so all my slices is exported in the same manner (keeping the slice name unique) 5. Using mouse wheel in the Slices area up and down 6. Unfolded a few of the slices and rolled the mouse wheel up and down fairly quickly 7. Designer freezes, boom. It recovered my file when I restarted though (phew) I also created a crash dump file of the Designer process was frozen and ran it through DebugDiag Crash Analyzer, the report is attached. I suppose I could send my file to the developers if that helps reproducing the freeze, but I rather not post it on the forum Video capture Sometimes the slices are not redrawn properly in the UI, not sure how to recreate this - but here's what it looks like: Video clip with the error . 17. I just came across a workflow stumbling block while working on letterheads with Publisher and delivering them as MS Word templates. There were multiple variations of the letterheads for different departments, which were created as different pages in Publisher in a single document based on common Master Pages My workflow was as following: Design everything in Publisher Create slices of header and footer for export to PDF Iterate on the design in Publisher until approved by client Place PDF graphics of header and footer in Word, recreate text that needs to be editable and text styles in Word, make color Palettes via PowerPoint (due to Microsoft logic) Last minute fixes: Make changes in Publisher, re-export the slices and replace the images in Word Deliver MS Word templates and color palette files To my knowledge, this is a pretty standard workflow for doing branding projects where MS Office templates are required. Since Publisher has no Export persona, I created my slices for my letter header and footer by opening the Publisher document inside Photo. Trouble is, Designer and Photo only support one page. When opening a document, they always just display Page 1. This can be circumvented by opening the file via the File menu in Publisher. In that case they will open the page that is currently active in Publisher. For me that meant that I had to go my target page in Publisher, use the menu to open that page in Photo, create my slices, save, close, re-open in Publisher, go to the next page, create my slices and so on. This is not only very cumbersome, but it also makes it really difficult to copy slices, settings or dimensions to keep them consistent across pages. Imagine that I find that I want my footer slice to be a bit larger after all because one version has some extra elements and I want them to be a consistent size – I'd have to close, re-open the document in Photo via Publisher for every single page and make my edits while remembering the dimensions to type in. The same applies to exporting the slices after a design change – when not using continuous export (haven't tested if that works from Publisher), this workflow also requires closing and re-opening the file for each page I want to re-export slices from. Imagine a change on a master page with slices on a 15 page document. That's a waste of time and unnecessarily frustrating. I guess the limit on page navigation was imposed onto Designer and Photo to prevent people from just downloading blank files with multiple pages and using those instead of buying Designer or Photo. My proposed solution would be to offer page navigation in the Export persona in both Designer and Photo. Then just always return to the default page 1 when going back to the main Photo or Vector persona if Publisher is not installed. Another possibility would be to take it further and globally enable page navigation in Photo and Designer if Publisher is installed, similar to the Vector and Photo personas in Publisher. The last option would be to add the Export persona to Publisher, but I'd say that's probably overkill.
  18. Yesterday I was slicing up an image in the export persona, an operation I usually don't do, and Photo RC1 locked up. It has been locked up for several hours. This generally hasn't happened in the beta before.
  19. Hi, How should I use the Include bleed in the Export Persona of Photo? I couldn't find any option to add bleeds. So, what is the actual purpose of this? Also, is there any workaround in Photo to export a document as PDF with standard bleeds? Any help would be appreciated.
  20. I think I'm missing something very obvious here but the Slice sector tool in Export Persona, will not let me select or adjust a slice size. (AD v1.6.1) Any ideas?
  21. Lately, I've been using export persona more often due to a project I've been developing. So, I thought it would be more useful than it ended up being. The slices help a lot, but I had to click hundreds of time to assign the same profile to a lot of slices, and I see no reason for an export persona not being optimized to make things faster. #1 - I couldn't duplicate any slice. Duplicating the slices created with the slice tool, allowing me to simply move it around to another part of the canvas, keeping the export settings, would be great. #2 - there's no way to batch rename or batch set a multiplier to the slices' size. I had lots of slices and had to: click, rename, click the arrow, click to type, type "5x", and, then, go to the next slice. The only batch process I could find was changing the format. #3 - why do the slice made from a vector with an adjustment layer inside ends up being giant? If I have a simple square and make a slice from it, it'll keep the proportions. If I have the same square inside a group, and, inside this group, there's an—let's say—recolor adjustment layer, my slice goes giant. By the way, I'm not here to complain. If I'm wrong in any claim above, please, correct and teach me how to do it properly. I just wanna keep the work flowing with less brute force.
  22. Just purchased the iPad Pro and I’m having trouble exporting. I’m unable to create a new folder in the export menu and there’s no option to create a new folder. The one option I have On My iPad shows the Pages folder. I added Google Drive to the list of places but when I navigate to a sub folder, select it, my only option is Done, then Cancel. No image is exported. I must be stupid. Ideas?
  23. Hi folks, I'm new to this app and looking into slices to simplify a specific workflow... I can't tell if my failure to figure this out is my unfamiliarity with the app or perhaps it's not meant to do what I want. A description: Given: a single source image (may be portrait or landscape) Wanted: To create n different output assets of different sizes and orientations, with the ability to replace the image for a given size if manual cropping/resizing is insufficient to produce a viable composition. To complicate matters, the use case also has overlays (these images are backgrounds for use in an app that presents on different sized devices) which means that images with lots of negative space need to be massaged more depending on where the "important" parts of the image are. I've attached a version set (apparently I can't attach all the images, but what did attach shows the range -- the original is 3072x2048 in this case and there's a 2732x1048 that failed as well) that I've done manually in another app to give a visual of the resize/recomposition I'm describing... is there some way I could use slices to import the original once, manipulate the slices individually to create a result like the manual example, then take advantage of the single export to get the workflow improvement I'm looking for? If not, given the description, is there a suggested different approach that might be better than the lather-rinse-repeat of manipulating the frames individually? Thanks! -brad
  24. Is there any way to specify specific output resolutions using the export persona? I'd like to specify exports of specific slices at 1920x1080 for example (which are the same 16:9 ratio as my original files, but at 1920x1080 would be smaller than the original). There are currently 1x , 2x 3x, etc sizes as well as a 100px width option, but I can't seem to find a way to enter my own desired size.
  25. Hi all! The export persona with the possibility to define slices is already a great feature. I'm looking for the possibility to set the aspect ratio per slice independently of the pixel. One slice in 16:9, another in 9:7 ... and then I want select the size/area with the mouse. I don't find this possibility. Can anyone help me? Thanks Manu
