So I had this logo and business card redesign that I was working on and I was pretty much done except for some minor touch ups, and I go to my iPad today to find that I can’t open the file anymore. All it says now it “loading failed, Unable to load document”. Now this was a big file as it was an extensive redesign with many options and a lot of work has gone into this file. And now I can’t open it. Is there like a way to fix this? It’s not in my files app so there is no way of me getting the file through there, if I press save the app freezes and then crashed, and duplicate does nothing. Like I said already a lot of work when into this file, so would it be possible for me to open it again?

Currently to create a new document using the contents of the clipboard, one has to press CTRL+Alt+Shift+N. While this shortcut is functional, it is quite long and can be cumbersome to use. Additionally changing this shortcut may result in overriding another important function. I would like to propose a more convenient method for creating new documents from the clipboard. I suggest that when no documents are currently active, pressing CTRL+V should directly create a new document using the clipboard contents. This would make the process more intuitive and easier to perform. Example Copy image to clipboard. Open Affinity Designer/Publisher/Photo. Press CTRL+V.

A purely cosmetic bug, but document icons have a black border around them. It seems like the black area should be transparent, but instead is black. Happens in all Affinity apps. They are installed from the Microsoft Store, that bit of info might help track it down. Also, a better file description beyond "AFDESIGN File" would be nice. Thanks!

Hi does anyone have any idea how to stop (or disable) the document (canvas) from moving around. It can be a bit annoying when you slightly touch the mouse and it would cause the document to move. This issue also happen when click and hold the mouse to select objects in the document, but when you release it to confirm your selection, the document would sometime jump a little bit. May I request for the next update to allow users to disable the document from moving around? :)

Jut installed Affinity Publisher v2 as trial and started a new document, 8"x10" 150 pages, as a test and then File > Place... , open the files dialog and no .doc documents where visible in the list. I selected all the options to no avail. (Screen capture 1). Then I write the file in the file name of the Place files dialog and it throw me an error. Apparently Affinity Publisher do not imports(Places) Word files. Is that an error? or it needs the full version to work or what happened? (Affinity Photo and Designer are not installed yet.) Thanks for any help.

I have a document of a certain dimension - photo album. I decided to shrink it a bit to fit a printer's capabilities to print photo books. The process is easy - I "anchor to page" then "Rescale" "All Spreads. The document pages all shrink to the proper size and all objects are also shrunk down to accommodate the settings. Then I follow up with rescaling the Masters too. In my case, all of my text boxes' text are "controlled" by Text Styles. Upon examining the text boxes, I see that the text has automatically shrunk from 14 points to 13.2 points. This is good and what I expected. Then I checked the Text Style (still) associated with that text and it is still set to 14 points. I do not know the intent here, but it would seem that there *should* be an option during the Rescale to have controlling Text Styles optionally ALSO change to match the final text in the document itself (and, are there other features that should be made to be in sync in a similar vein too?). You can imagine the difficulty of manually having to go through all the text styles to change their Font size to match the now rescaled document text. I have not been able to come up with a rationale for keeping the Text Style font sizes as they were before the rescale was done. Thanks for some enlightenment on this issue.

Hey there, I always forget to check the "Save History File with Document" after creating a new one. I understand, that not everybody wants to save the history by default, because it would make a lot of files a lot larger (I guess so?). But for others it would be nice to have a Checkbox in the (User-)Settings to get the history saved with the document by default when saving a document. Perhaps it would even be possible, to have a "per document"-exception-setting. Greetings, Johannes

Duplicate layer to other open document
ianborcic posted a topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
A feature I use very often in Photoshop and which I seem to be missing in Affinity Photo is the option to duplicate a layer from one open document to another. I use this feature on a day to day basis and I think it is very handy. Would be great to have that in Photo. I am a new user so I hope I didn't miss it if it exists already by any chance, but since I didn't find it in the help section I guess it isn't available. Thanks! -
As the title describes, I have a document that crashes whenever I try to interact with a specific page. I initially noticed a stray element, which was technically "off-canvas" and quite large. I tried to navigate to the page to delete the offending element and the application crashed. This behaviour seems to be consistent on both macOS and Windows. Now I cannot do anything to the page: If I try and select an elements on the page - it crashes If I try an make the page the active page - it crashes If I try to delete it - it crashes If I try to delete the page before it - it crash If I use the resource manager to locate the element on the page - it crashes I tried to open the document up in Affinity Designer, but there is now way to change the active page (consider adding this feature to desktop). I used the iPad version which can cycle through pages and it also crashes when I get to the offending page. The only way to salvage my document was to select (in the pages panel) the page before it, it and the page after it - and delete all 3 pages at the same time. Obviously this is not ideal, because I had to redo work that was already done. I would like to provide the document to a moderator review, perhaps we can squash this bug.

Greetings, I have come simply to ask these two questions regarding the Windows 10 system. 1. Is it by any chance possible to disable floating windows? Trying to move them in the order that suits one better is starting to get quite difficult when the windows pop out non-stop. And if it isn't a possibility, please add it to the system. 2. I have heard of mac/ipad capabilities to import/export document setup, I use Designer most of the time where I create a bunch of new presets but once I come over to Photo I realise that they aren't saved over there as well. Any way to transfer them over on Windows?

Hello, is this possible to fix this photos with Affinity Photo to be easier for reading and printing ( especially that ). Main goals: Make background paper white Make text contrast Remove shadow - all background to be close to white or white. I know that sample resolution is very low which complicates this task. Thanks for help

I am using the latest version of Affinity Publisher downloaded yesterday, but this is a problem that I have been wrestling with for some time. At the moment I have a Publisher document for the WEB that has pages measuring 1600px wide X 1200px in landscape. I want to add a number of pages that are 1600px wide X 2400px. Whatever I do, the settings just will not take ? What am I missing or doing wrong ?

I have a document from which I’d like to export multiple slight variations in content and size. Artboards are not a solution: Objects can only belong to one artboard at a time, which requires duplicating the majority of objects across artboards, and then I would need to update each object on each artboard. Selecting a frame or background object and then clicking Artboard Tool, Size Selection, Insert Artboard does not work, because the resultant artboard bizarrely is always 50% larger than the object’s stroke width (bug filed in this support thread here). Artboards introduce more complication than is necessary. My current workaround is to: Note the position and dimensions of my frame or background object. Click Document Setup, Dimensions, Anchor to Page, choose a bottom anchor, disable proportion lock, enter the desired height of current height minus top position. Repeat the previous step with a top anchor chosen and a desired height equal to the frame/background height. This workaround is tedious, time-consuming, and prone to error. Please introduce a simple, click-and-drag, graphical-user-interface tool to crop the document/page/canvas to an object or guides. Thank you.

Hi, Sometimes I'm assembling components on a page, but I'm working on a canvas that is sized towards the end result. Is there a way to keep objects dragged off-canvas visible or do I have to switch to a "canvas + artboard" model to keep track of those objects? If, for instance, I create an A4 landscape canvas and drag an object outside the canvas area it basically becomes invisible and can only retrieved by either block selecting the whole area and dragging it on the canvas again or highlighting the relevant layer and dragging it back onto the canvas. Is there a setting for the off-canvas border to remain behind objects dragged off-canvas? Attached: example circle partly vanishing when being off-canvas Cheers!

I am trying to print various images / photo's from Affinity Photo using a Canon Pro 1000 printer and for some strange reason all attempts have resulted in the image displaced e.g. not centred. The margins are all set up & look good & even in soft proofing but the A2 printed image is offset to one side (rt.) approx. 2→5mm in both portrait & landscape. When editing / printing using the Canon software then the photos don't have this issue. I've noticed other posts on here that have similar issues but I've not discovered a solution. If anyone is able to advise me as to what is amiss that would be great as not being able to produce a correctly positioned photo kind of defeats the whole purpose of my purchase.

Designer 1.9.2.1035 on Windows 10. When a document is resized with “Anchor To Page” set, and a layer is selected, once the document is resized the selected layer’s boundary box isn’t where it would be expected to be. See attached video. Not a major problem but probably needs looking into. 2021-06-25 09-18-49.mp4

Hello everyone, sometimes I really like to switch to the vector viewmode not only for a better workflow, but also to see "the magic" behind my designs. Now I wonder if there´s a way to export the design in the vector viewmode as a non-vector document type like e.g. JPEG. So the end-result I´d like to have would show the countures/vectores only. The only way I see to do this is to remove the fillings and color all the countures the same and add some thickness to them. Is there another? A way to directly export in a specific viewmode?

It's more convenient if Affinity Photo would register a copied image size and open a default New Document preset for this exact image. It also saves time and eliminates additional work. For example: You copy an image 850x850px, press command N and Affinity opens a new document for you which is exactly 850x850px, with the same resolution as the previously copied image.

I add a new photo AP. I go to Color, Swatches,, and Add Document Palette, nothing happens. Am I wrong to suggest the colors from the open photo would be added as swatches? If wrong, how can you obtain photo colors to add to swatches, other then color picker one by one.
